The hall slowly began to fill with the crowd but what most of the people were looking forward to was seeing the most incredible and handsome businessman Tristan Knight.

The biggest news circulated within the crowd, and most of the businessmen present for the fashion show couldn’t wait to meet him. It was infrequent for Tristan to show up at the event.

The last time when they saw him attending any event was a few years back. But even after being in the crowd, no one was able to meet him as he left the event midway.

Soon the entire hall turned silent when they heard heavy footsteps from the entrance, and Tristan walked in along with Karl and his bodyguards as he made his way inside the gallery.

His aura was enough to make the entire all go quiet and not to forget his skilful me, who emitted the same deadly vibes.

He was ignoring the gawking eyes. Tristan made his way and took the seat, mainly for the guest of honour.

"It’s too intimidating", Karl, who sat next to him, muttered, leaning close to his ear and watching him shrug.

"I just came to see my wife. Once I have done, we are leaving home," Tristan said plainly.

Karl sighed and shook his head, knowing how hard it was for them to attend these events. Tristan had always been lowkey because he preferred privacy. But because Ashley was going to be the leading lady, he couldn’t stop cheering his wife secretly.

Soon the show began, and the model started to walk one by one, representing the latest designs.

Tristan’s eyes narrowed when he saw Greg among the male models, and he sneered," What is he doing here and how I don’t know about it" Tristan glared at his side, surprising Karl, who himself didn’t have a clue about Greg being in the model list.

"Let me check, boss," he said, pursing his lips and making a call to the event manager.

Talking to him, he ended the call and turned," He replaced one model at the last moment" Karl looked at Tristan, but his face remained cold and indifferent.

"Make sure he doesn’t bug around my wife", Tristan warned without looking at him.

As the show continued, the time for Ashley to appear finally arrived, and the man waiting for her held his breath.

"Beautiful", he muttered and watched Ashley make her way on the ramp wearing a stunning strapless evening gown made with glistening velvet sequin. The fabric fitted perfectly on her curvy body, making her look gorgeous.

Walking with grace, Ashley captured everyone’s eyes, showing off her flawless beauty that had no comparison.

She gave some pose and turned when her eyes caught Tristan sitting within the crowd, and their eyes met. Her heart began to race against her chest, and she suddenly began to feel nervous.

Tristan himself looked like a model who walked out of a magazine, and that made it hard for her to part her eyes from him.

Tristan passed her a meaningful look, and a smile appeared on her lips, and she turned, walking back. He was so proud of her that he couldn’t stop clapping his hand. His happiness was evident on his face as his lips curled up into a contagious smile, which caught much attention.

Karl’s eyes widened at Tristan’s sudden cheering, and he panicked. "Boss, you can’t be so obvious," he said, whispering in his ear but getting ignored.

"He will surely create some gossip", Karl muttered when his phone began to ring, distracting his thought, and he looked at the caller and frowned.

"Why is he calling?" he mumbled and looked at his boss, who was drooling, watching his wife as a lovesick teenager.

Shaking his head in disbelief, Karl got up. Excusing himself as the music was loud, he made his way away from the crowd and picked up the call.

"Yes, officer," he asked, and the next moment, his eyes grew more expansive, and his head turned around to look at the crowd.

"How can you be this careless officer?" he scolded the man and ended the call before he rushed back to Tristan.

Reaching the spot, Karl panted, and that was enough to alarm Tristan," What happened?" his smile dropped, and his face turned darker.

"Jane escaped" his words stiffened, and his palm curled into a fist.

"How can this happen," he asked dangerously, looking at Karl.

An hour before the event began,

The cops who were standing outside Jane’s ward suddenly began to get suspicious of finding no staff to come and check on her once.

"I think we need to check," one lady cop said, and she opened the door only to find the room empty.

"They fooled us", she shouted, and they rushed to the doctor who came to check on her and caught hold of him.

First, he wasn’t ready to accept anything, but after getting punched, he spilt everything.

"Ask everyone to split and make sure no one gets suspicious", Tristan ordered, and in no time, Karl instructed the guards to find Jane, who was currently inside the same event hall, hiding within the crowd.

His eyes then fell on the stage as the show was still going on." I have to find her before she does something wrong."

Tristan had kept his tap on Jane, and he knew she wasn’t someone who would lose this quickly. In the morning, he was informed about her transfer and was a little relaxed as she would be taken to a detention cell, where she would be taken care of very well. Now he felt terrible for taking it lightly.

Somewhere inside the hall, Gwen had disguised herself as one of the staff who worked for the event. She had hidden very well that no one got suspicious of her.

Her evil eyes looked at the stage ahead, and her blood began to boil.

" This was all for me, Ash, and you snatched it away from me" Jane gritted her teeth as she watched Ashley walk the ramp catching everyone’s attention.

She wanted to teach her a lesson, and she would go to any extent to revenge on her. Clutching the gun inside her pocket, she glared at Ashley and walked toward the stage.

Tristan’s eyes were scanning among the people when his eyes caught the sight of a particular individual that seemed suspicious.

He stood up that instant when he saw that person pull out a gun and point it toward Ashley as she walked along with the designer. He screamed.

"Ashley...." he roared loud enough to catch everyone’s attention, and suddenly a loud gunshot echoed inside the hall.

"Thud..."

Everything stopped for a while when he saw the bullet hit Ashley’s arm, and she fell to the floor, holding her bleeding hand.

"Fu*k", Jane cursed when she missed the shot, and she tried to sneak away from there when Tristan’s men caught hold of her.

She thought her bullet would hit her stomach, but it hit her hand, and she realised she hadn’t succeeded.

"Leave me... Let go" wriggling in their stronghold Jane tried to free herself but failed.

"Let me go... I will kill her today" Jane had lost her mind when she saw her end, and she began to talk manically. Her mind was clouded with hate towards Ashley that she couldn’t think of anything but to harm her.

Tristan ran onto the stage as his heart stopped watching Ashley bleed. He fell onto his knees as soon as he reached for her and took her in his arm.

"Ash... Look, it’s me," he said and saw her lift her head, and her teary eyes met his worried ones.

"Tristan..." she slowly called his name when suddenly everything around her turned blank, and she passed out into his arm.

"Ash... wake up" Tristan patted her cheeks, but she didn’t respond when his eyes fell onto her arm, that didn’t stop bleeding.

Ignoring every gossiping voice, Tristan carried Ashley in his arm and dashed out from there. He didn’t care about anything but his wife to be safe.

Greg, who witnessed everything, was shocked beyond expectation. Jane being here and her shooting Ashley, everything happened so fast that he remained rooted and watched Jane getting dragged by the huge bulky men.

"You made a big mistake Jane. It would help if you hadn’t done it," he muttered under his nose and only hoped her life would be spared this time.

Outside

Tristan dashed in a hurry and asked the driver to take them to the hospital. He was restless the moment Ashley passed out into his arm.

"Ash.... open your eyes" he kept calling her name, hoping she would listen and show some moment, but she didn’t, and he panicked.

"Drive fast...." he yelled at the driver scaring the shit out of him, and he increased the speed and soon reached the hospital.

Tristan’s suit was covered with blood as he sprinted inside, carrying Ashley in his arm.

Karl, too followed his boss after instructing the guards to take Jane to the base. On his way to the hospital, he informed the doctor about the emergency, and as soon Tristan rushed in, the staff recognised him and acted quickly.

Ashley was quickly taken to the emergency department, and the doctors soon began treating her injury.
