Neo barely kept track of his system progression now. His absolute focus was demanded elsewhere, as he was currently synthesizing Perfect Awakening Potions for his rapidly expanding army.

​One hundred thousand recruits was not a small number, and the applications were still increasing by the hour.

​Since he had to synthesize the elixirs personally using his unique talent, he barely had time to do anything else. For seven whole days, he stood before the glowing cauldron, meticulously synthesizing over 80,000 of those godly potions.

​Meanwhile, his three elven commanders organized the massive influx of recruits, establishing the army into three distinct chains of command. Neo remained the Supreme Commander, ready to take direct control in battle when the situation required it. Beneath him, the three elves held the ultimate tactical authority.

​Zestia had also been given a degree of authority over the troops, but not to the point where she could completely override the three commanders’ orders.

​Noir, on the other hand, was practically a free bird. Since she was the strongest combatant in the Empire next to Neo, she refused to take any official military role that might tie her down.

​There was only one role she truly yearned for: the Emperor’s wife.

​The massive logistical task of distributing the Perfect Awakening Potions to the mortal recruits was handled by these two women, with Leon assisting them from the sidelines.

​If Leon had been told just a week ago that he would be following his own niece into the service of an unknown young man, he would have laughed it off as a ridiculous joke. How could a proud Aizenberg ever stoop so low as to serve someone else?

​But now, after witnessing Neo’s terrifying rate of growth and the sheer, limitless potential of his newly founded Empire, Leon decided he wanted to stay a little longer.

​He was not worried about Zestia’s safety at all. A man who would go to such violent lengths to protect his own family would certainly never harm an innocent subordinate.

​On the contrary, he was actually worried for Zestia simply because she had to compete for Neo’s affection against a demonically beautiful woman like Noir.

The grand plaza of the Imperial Palace was packed to the absolute brim.

​Thousands of mortals stood in neat, endless rows under the alien sun.

Among them were Hoge the Giant and Zik the Ant-man, waiting anxiously for their military armaments.

​Zestia and Noir, flanked by elite elven warriors, walked gracefully through the massive aisles. However, instead of handing out weapons, they gave each recruit a single crystal vial filled with a swirling golden liquid.

​The new recruits stared at the tiny vials in utter perplexity.

​They came here to fight a stellar war, maybe die in the battlefield. So they expected heavy plasma rifles, reinforced mecha suits, or at the very least, standard energy blades.

But, breaking all expectations, they were given a tiny sip of glowing juice.

Zik addressed Zestia and asked,

​"Lady boss, what is this? Are we supposed to throw this at the enemies?"

Zestia wanted slap it to death for stupidity, but since it called her as Lady Boss, she maintained calm.

​"No, you have to drink it. All of you. By the absolute order of the Supreme Commander, drink it to the very last drop."

​Hesitant but obedient, Hoge uncorked his vial and poured the tiny amount into his massive mouth.

Zik and the tens of thousands immediately followed suit.

​For a split second, nothing happened.

​Then, the godly effect took hold.

​BOOM!

​From the center of the plaza, a piller of golden emergy rose to the air.

Hoge’s eyes widened in boundless shock.

As soon as he drank it, the lingering pain of his deep malnutrition vanished instantly. His hollow ribs violently expanded, packing tightly with dense, explosive muscle.

Beside him, Zik’s chipped and dull exoskeleton glowed blindingly bright, repairing itself and hardening into a sleek, indestructible black armor.

​All across the sprawling plaza, the sick were instantly healed. The weak were injected with unimaginable vitality.

The ordinary, powerless mortals were fundamentally evolving into higher beings right where they stood.

​Then, the most miraculous thing of all happened.

​System screens began to materialized in the air in front of every single recruit.

They were no longer fragile mortals destined to die in factories or slums.

​The massive plaza fell into a pin drop silence. No one dared to even breathe.

​Then, Hoge the Giant fell heavily to his knees. His massive hands trembled uncontrollably as he stared at his glowing blue status screen.

From his once rugged face, hot tears spilled down.

​Zik dropped beside him, weeping openly as he felt the terrifying magical power coursing through his small veins.

​Like a falling wave, tens of thousands of soldiers collapsed to their knees in unison, their foreheads pressing deeply against the cold marble floor.

​They thanked the heavens for this miracle. But more than that, they deeply thanked themselves for making the desperate, crazy choice to enroll in the Zenith Empire’s army.

They were the discarded trash of the universe, entirely abandoned by their own world.

Yet, their new Emperor had casually handed them the power to create legends.
