Neo felt his lust toward the demonic woman growing stronger with every word she spoke.

​Noir’s expression turned sad as she recalled, "It used to exist in a faraway Sector, bur not anymore. The Demon Empire perished under the combined assault of the Saint Lands."

​"Oh," Neo said, intrigued.

​She continued, "I do not know how you view us demons as a hybrid, but I will tell you the real demons are those filthy humans."

Noir took a step back, her beautiful midnight wings wrapping slightly around her body as if to shield herself from the cold, agonizing memories.

​"Our empire was not a realm of mindless slaughter or chaotic evil, like the human scriptures falsely preached. It was a majestic sanctuary for all beings born with dark affinities and Nether Force. We had towering cities carved from obsidian, vast libraries of ancient magic, and families who simply wished to live in peace."

​She looked up at the dark ceiling of the undercliff, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.

​"But the humans of the Saint Lands were consumed by absolute greed. They coveted our rich energy springs, our unique magical bloodlines, and our territories. Yet, they could not just invade us for wealth. They needed a righteous cause to unite their greedy factions. So, their Pope and the High Cardinals fabricated a divine revelation. They declared a grand Holy Crusade to purify the empire of darkness."

​Noir closed her eyes, and a single, crystalline tear trailed down her pale porcelain cheek.

​"We had tens of thosands worlds. But they descended upon our worlds like a plague of golden locusts. Millions of Paladins and holy knights marched into our homes.

They did not fight an honorable war. It was a systematic extermination. They wielded their holy fire without a single shred of mercy, burning our beautiful cities to ash. They slaughtered our elderly in the streets. They impaled our children on lances of light, calling their absolute cruelty a form of divine justice."

​Her delicate hands clenched into tight fists.

​"And the survivors... the ones they deemed useful, they were heavily shackled with divine suppression seals. Our proudest warriors were reduced to mindless combat slaves, forced to fight in the arenas for the very people who destroyed their homes. Our women were taken as spoils of war, broken down to serve the sick, hidden desires of the holy nobility."

​She opened her eyes that now looked like abyssal inferno, staring directly into Neo’s void-like eyes.

​"I watched my sisters burn in their blinding, hypocritical light. I watched my glorious empire crumble into dust. That is why I searched the endless cosmos for you, Primordial Demon Seed. You possess the pure, ancient darkness. You have the power to tear down their golden thrones and drown their Saint Lands in absolute despair."

Neo sat upon a rock, completely expressionless. Whether her story was true or not, he was determined not to get tangled in some millennia-old conflict just because the other party was a beautiful woman.

​However, he also understood the holy energy of the Paladins and the Inquisitor was exactly what he needed to balance his internal forces.
