​The blades struck the weapons, cutting through them like butter. Some of them hit the cops’ chests and shoulders, bringing them to their knees in excruciating pain.

​"Requesting backup! A rogue Beyonder is inside the Sky Tower!" one cop barked over the communication drone.

​A moment later, his head was struck by the blunt side of a spirit dagger, causing him to instantly lose consciousness. Neo deliberately held back to avoid taking the lives of innocent officers. Some of them might be parents, simply obliged to fulfill their duties.

​After knocking down all the nearby officers, Neo stepped onto the podium where Marcus Hutchin stood calmly with a fearless smile. It was as if he had already anticipated something like this and was completely prepared.

​"The President told me you would arrive, Mr. Neo Godson," Marcus said with smug confidence. "But I am sorry to say I am in no way going to be of help to you. I know nothing of what you want from me."

​Neo stood two meters away from him, towering broader and taller than the branch manager. His void-like gaze suddenly erupted with an intense blue shade.

​"You are lying. Your soul is corrupt," Neo said coldly.

​Marcus scowled. "Change your tone, boy. I have been in power at the Byzon Company for ten years. You cannot talk to me as if you are some kind of ruler. You should be groveling at our feet to spare your mother and sister’s lives. The loss you created for us is unforgivable."

The word "grovel" seemed to echo more than necessary.

"Arghhhh—!" Marcus let out a muffled agonizing shriek as his nose broke instantly, creating a spray of crimson blood splattering across the pristine white surface.

​Below the stage, the hundreds of elites of Chronopolis gasped.

​"Oh my God!" a heavily jeweled celebrity screamed, covering her eyes as her champagne glass slipped from her hand and shattered on the floor.

​"Guards! Where are the Federal Guards?!" a corrupt senator bellowed, scrambling backward over a chair in blind panic.

His previous dignified aura gone.

Meanwhile, a crazed reporter yelled at his floating drone:

​Marcus gasped for breath, but the arrogance of a decade in power had not completely left him.

He spat out a mouthful of blood and broken teeth, glaring up at Neo with venomous hatred.

​Neo lifted his foot and brought it down hard on Marcus’s right knee.

The sound of his femur rang horrifically.

​ Marcus’s eyes rolled back, and he let out a guttural inhuman howl of pure agony, his body thrashing violently on the ruined podium.

But if you want to live you will tell me where my mother and sister are." Neo demanded coldly.

Marcus, laying on the ground with broken teeth,nose and bones, looked extremely miserable.

He practically broke into sob,

​Through the massive gaps in the ruined windows, the seven figures in high-tech white battle suits descended from the lead aircraft.

They didn’t use energy thrusters, they simply glided down. Most probably, they were Metahumans.

​The leader of the squad, a tall man with a silver cybernetic eye and a deeply scarred jaw, took the lead.

​He eyes fixated on the whimpering body of Marcus Hutchin and Neo.

​"Neo Godson!" the Senior Officer’s voice boomed, amplified to a deafening volume by both his battle suit’s built-in comms and his own dense cosmic energy.

​"By the direct authority of the Central Federation, you are hereby classified as a Rogue Beyonder!"

​The Senior Officer raised his hand, and instantly, the hundreds of combat drones hovering outside synchronized their targeting lasers, painting Neo’s chest and head with a swarm of deadly red dots.

​"You have committed an unprovoked act of extreme terror against a high-ranking corporate executive and directly endangered the lives of Federation VIPs. There is no escape. The entire building is locked down."

​The Metahuman officers also took a step forwad, their battle suits gleaming with dense cosmic energy.

Noir giggled melodiously, arriving beside Neo like a murky shadow.
