A single blow had injured the High-level Dominator Wolf Vulture, causing it to lose the ability to fly and forcing it to land. As a Beast Master, Zhao Xiwei’s brow furrowed even deeper when she saw this.

She clenched her fists and assumed a battle stance. "Let’s attack together. We can’t let it continue to wreak havoc here."

"You all fall back! This isn’t a battle you can take part in!" Chujiang River ordered, looking at Chu Xiran and the other two.

The battle ignited in an instant. The five of them joined forces against the Pseudo-Emperor Level robot, and for a moment, all sorts of Skills filled the sky.

The sounds of explosions, impacts, and splashing water—a chaotic cacophony—made the battlefield seem like the scene of an apocalyptic disaster.

Although it was five against one, and Chujiang River’s group had a clear numerical advantage, Chu Xiran and the other two watching from the sidelines couldn’t help but worry.

The Skills unleashed by their Pet Beasts often only managed to inflict superficial damage on the Frankenstein Robot. The robot’s Skills, however, were another matter. A single hit could grievously wound a Pet Beast.

One of Zhu Guanyu’s Pet Beasts was even driven to the brink of death after taking a blow and had to be recalled into its Beast Taming Space.

The battle raged for about half an hour. All five of their Pet Beasts were wounded, and the Pet Beasts belonging to Chujiang River’s group of three, in particular, had nearly lost all their fighting strength.

Just as Chujiang River and the other two were considering a retreat, the Frankenstein Robot suddenly ceased its assault.

"Hahaha... So satisfying... Crushing you little ants is just so satisfying! Too bad my time is running out. I have to get down to business now!" After a few wild laughs, its body ducked low and plunged back into the reservoir with an enormous splash.

In the blink of an eye, it was gone.

The five of them exchanged helpless, bitter glances.

They had been completely overwhelmed out in the open. If they followed it into the reservoir, they would probably die even faster.

They wanted to stop the Frankenstein Robot, but they weren’t stupid. There was no point in recklessly charging in just to get themselves killed.

Just as they stood there, at a complete loss, an earth-shattering boom suddenly erupted.

Immediately after, the entire reservoir churned violently, as if the seas and rivers were overturned, instantly throwing up a monstrous wave a hundred meters high.

"Retreat!" Faced with the hundred-meter wave, the five of them didn’t hesitate for a second, immediately falling back.

They all commanded their Pet Beasts to use Skills. Some vaulted over the colossal wave, while others created shields to block it, barely managing to evade the assault.

Having weathered the attack, just as she was letting out a sigh of relief, Zhao Xiwei’s expression suddenly changed. A terrible thought had struck her. "Oh no. This is bad!"

She whipped her head around to look where the massive wave was heading. It was surging straight for downtown Lingshui City!

"This is terrible! That wave could bring catastrophic disaster to Lingshui City!" Mu Qianqian cried out, having heard Zhao Xiwei and seen where the wave was headed. Her face paled as well.

Everyone snapped to attention. Just as they were about to rush over to intercept it, another earth-shattering boom echoed from the reservoir.

They were forced to halt in their tracks. As the thunderous boom echoed, another hundred-meter-high wave surged up from the reservoir.

Amidst the deafening boom, they also distinctly heard a terrifying, beastly roar.

The roar, mixed in with the colossal boom, made the faces of the five turn even grimmer.

"That Frankenstein Robot must have opened an Unstable Rift! What kind of monster are they trying to release?" Zhu Guanyu immediately pieced it together, his face etched with worry.

"That can’t be right! The last time our three families teamed up to enter the Unstable Rift, we cleared out the entire surrounding area! How could such a powerful Extraordinary Creature possibly appear?" Niu Aihua said, finding it hard, and unwilling, to believe.

She herself had been part of the last expedition into the Unstable Rift.

She was certain she knew whether or not there were powerful Extraordinary Creatures in the vicinity of the Unstable Rift.

"When was the last time you entered the Unstable Rift?" Mu Qianqian asked.

"Almost two years ago," Niu Aihua answered. After she spoke, a realization seemed to dawn on her, and she silently lowered her head.

Sure enough, Mu Qianqian’s analysis in the next moment confirmed Niu Aihua’s own dawning fear. "The interior of a Dimensional Rift is interconnected, and the same goes for Unstable Rifts. You haven’t been inside that Unstable Rift for almost two years. No one knows what might have happened in there."

Zhao Xiwei added, "What’s more, the Mechanical Desecration Association was clearly prepared this time. I suspect they’ve made arrangements inside the Unstable Rift. That unknown, powerful Extraordinary Creature was likely lured here by them intentionally."

After her addition, she continued, bringing up the most pressing issue. "Alright, forget about the unknown Extraordinary Creature for now. It’ll probably take some time for it to emerge from the Unstable Rift. We have to deal with the immediate crisis. If all these massive waves hit the city, the entirety of Lingshui City could be wiped out."

The members of the three great families also realized the gravity of the situation.

Niu Aihua watched the massive waves being kicked up, struggling to fend them off as she said worriedly, "If these waves keep coming one after another, there’s no way we can stop them all."

Zhao Xiwei’s brow was also tightly furrowed, her expression grim. "We block as many as we can."

She glanced back at the city. "As for the rest," she said, her voice lacking conviction, "we’ll have to rely on the Beast Masters in the city. Besides, the waves should lose a lot of their power by the time they reach the urban districts."

Out of ten evolution attempts, only seven had been successful.

Li Qian ultimately failed to assemble a full set of eight Frostfire Salamanders.

Still, with seven successes, he was more than satisfied.

The success rate was twenty percent higher than the theoretical value. This, at least, proved one thing: willpower training did indeed increase the probability of a Koi Carp evolving into a Frostfire Salamander.

He withdrew his gaze and looked at Tan Tou, the lone fish remaining in the pool. Li Qian let out a long breath. "HUUUH... Tan Tou, you have to get your head in the right place for this one."

With that said, he stopped hesitating and walked to the edge of the pool.

Tan Tou immediately swam over.

Li Qian fed it another bag of Dragon Bone Powder, then pointed toward the water slide.

This time, Tan Tou didn’t frantically rush to use Climbing Waterfall. Instead, after seeing Li Qian’s gesture, it charged forward with firm, steady resolve.

Seeing Tan Tou rush toward the water slide, Li Qian wasted no time and headed for the elevator behind it.

It would take Tan Tou some time to ascend against the current using the Climbing Waterfall Skill, so Li Qian didn’t stare intently at the slide. Instead, he casually glanced around.
