Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

The Firebird descended from the sky. A moment ago, it had used a Fire Attribute Skill to detonate an incoming missile. If the missile had landed, the three of them would have undoubtedly ended up a dusty, disheveled mess, even if they managed to avoid injury.

CHIRP CHIRP, it cried twice before landing on a mast atop the factory complex. Its gaze then shifted down to Niu Fenjin, who had walked to the entrance, awaiting his orders.

At the same time, Zhu Bingqing also summoned her Pink Light Butterfly, which landed next to the Firebird. Whether they would have to fight or not, taking a favorable position first was definitely the right move.

"Don’t forget our mission!" Chu Xiran’s voice was as calm as ever. Her tone was cold as she issued the reminder.

"Are you serious? If we just charge in like this, how is that any different from suicide?" Seeing both Zhu Bingqing and Chu Xiran ready to fight to the death, Niu Fenjin felt a little unnerved.

"I think what you said makes a bit of sense, young man..." As soon as Niu Fenjin finished speaking, one of the five white coats spoke up. He chuckled, trying to persuade them to surrender. "Instead of dying a pointless death, why not just tell us where the location is? I can make the decision not to make things difficult for you and let you leave!"

"Where? What where?" Niu Fenjin listened to the white coat, curled his lip dismissively, and then deliberately pretended not to understand. To better coordinate their attack, the three of them were wearing communication earpieces. Chu Xiran was using one to speak to Niu Fenjin right now.

’Damn, so it’s a fighting retreat. I thought we were really going to fight them to the death.’ Hearing Chu Xiran’s words, Niu Fenjin let out a long sigh of relief. He almost couldn’t stop himself from patting his chest.

What he said before was just to build up his own courage. He couldn’t show fear before the fight even started. At any rate, he couldn’t admit defeat verbally. But if he really had to fight five Dominator Level helicopter robots to the death, he’d definitely be terrified.

"Golden Armor Beetle, use Scythe Slash! Firebird, use Explosive Sparks! Earth-Drilling Beast, use Rock Spike!" Having suffered a great loss last time, Niu Fenjin was the first to command his three Pet Beasts to attack one of the white coats.

He figured attacking the white coat might not be effective, but attacking a Dominator Level helicopter robot would surely be even more futile. And just as he’d expected, a helicopter robot suddenly shifted over, raised its arm, gathered Energy, and deployed an Energy Shield, blocking all three of the Pet Beasts’ Skills.

This outcome had little to do with whether the Skills had a type advantage or not; it was mainly because the power gap between the two sides was simply too large.

The Dominator and Commander Levels were worlds apart. Even a Tier Nine Commander Pet Beast with Saint Spirit Level Potential wouldn’t necessarily be able to defeat a Tier One Dominator whose Potential had only just scraped by into the Dominator rank.

That was just how it was with Pet Beast power; the higher the rank, the greater the gap between each tier.

"Strong Crocodile, Shadow Mink, Pink Light Butterfly, we’re up!"

"Ah Lang, Vine Vine, Xiaohui, we can’t fall behind either!"

Seeing that Niu Fenjin had already made the first move, Chu Xiran and Zhu Bingqing didn’t hesitate either. They immediately followed suit, ordering their own Pet Beasts to attack.

After a barrage of Skills, without bothering to check if they had done any damage to the five Mechanical Desecration Association members or their five robots, Chu Xiran gave the direct order: "Retreat!"

After putting some distance between them, Niu Fenjin looked back and saw that the five Mechanical Desecration Association members weren’t chasing them. Confused, he asked, "Xiran, something’s wrong. The five of them aren’t following us. What do we do?"

Back at the factory complex, the Mechanical Desecration Association member who had spoken earlier watched the three of them leave and couldn’t help but let out a mocking laugh. "HAHAHA, three little idiots. Using electronic devices right in front of our Mechanical Desecration Association... that’s really naive, really stupid!"

With that, they unhesitatingly rushed into the factory complex. A moment later, they walked back out, their faces grim. "Something’s wrong. There’s no trace of any spatial fluctuations detected inside. The Unstable Rift isn’t here at all! We’ve been tricked! This place is just a decoy!!"

The white coat who had spoken looked furious. He turned to another white coat beside him and snapped, "Huang Shiqi, you idiot! We’ve been tricked again!"
