Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Three Beast Masters, all of them Dominator Level. Logically, a force this powerful should have been unstoppable, crushing everything in their path.

But the reality was that this powerful force was somehow being suppressed.

That’s right. The team of three Dominator Level Beast Masters had actually been pushed onto the back foot in battle.

And the opponents capable of suppressing the three of them were a line of robots—a line of ten, all of them at Dominator Level.

This created a clear numerical advantage.

The team of three had twelve Pet Beasts in total, but in reality, only five of them were Overlord-level Pet Beasts. The remaining seven were all only Tier Nine Commanders.

What’s more, the ten Dominator Level robots moved as one, their coordination flawless. As one attacked, another would often fall back to provide defensive cover. Under their suppressive fire, the three Beast Masters and their twelve Pet Beasts were being beaten so badly they could hardly fight back.

"We can’t go on like this," Chujiang River said, his voice laced with anxiety. "Sooner or later, they’ll break through our blockade."

Chujiang River was from the Chu Family of Jizhou City and was one of the core members of his generation. He was a Dominator Level Beast Master and possessed two Overlord-level Pet Beasts.

The two fighting alongside him were Zhu Guanyu of the Zhu Family from Yunlan City, and Niu Aihua of the Niu Family from Ningyang City.

Both of them were also key members of their respective families; otherwise, they wouldn’t have been assigned to this Guardian mission.

The cities where their three families were based—Jizhou City, Yunlan City, and Ningyang City—were all located near Lingshui City.

Their families were also the owners of the Unstable Rift in Lingshui City. Based on the rules governing its opening, the rift was due to open in about half a month.

An attack from the Mechanical Desecration Association at such a critical juncture couldn’t be ignored. It was precisely because they took the threat seriously that each family had dispatched a Dominator Level Beast Master to stand guard.

"What’s the situation at the reservoir right now?" Zhu Guanyu asked, his brow furrowed. Of everyone there, he was under the most pressure, as he only had a single Overlord-level Pet Beast.

"There are only three young people still guarding the reservoir. If this defensive line is breached, the consequences will be unthinkable!" Chujiang River responded while fending off an attack.

His brow was deeply furrowed. He had some confidence in just holding off these ten robots, but if they had to tie them all down and not let a single one get away, the pressure was immense.

After all, they were currently the weaker party.

For the weaker party to pin down the stronger one without paying a price is all but impossible.

As if on cue, their worst fears were realized. Just as anxiety gnawed at the three of them, nine of the robots seemed to receive a command. They began to form up, providing cover for the tenth robot to break through.

The expressions of the three Beast Masters changed drastically at this sight. If that robot broke through, the three young people whose strength barely reached Commander Level would stand no chance of stopping a Dominator Level robot.

At the cost of two of their Overlord-level Pet Beasts sustaining significant injuries, they had finally managed to stop the tenth robot’s breakthrough.

A sudden roar of engines grew from a distant hum to a deafening noise, reaching the ears of the three Beast Masters. Chujiang River looked toward the sound, and what he saw nearly made him freeze in place.

He saw five cars of various makes and models. After drawing near, the five vehicles screeched to a halt. Then, before the horrified eyes of the three Beast Masters, they rapidly disintegrated and reassembled.

In the blink of an eye, five more robots had appeared. The disparity in their forces was now self-evident.

To be honest, the sight sent a chill down their spines.

It was already a massive struggle for the three of them and their twelve Pet Beasts to deal with ten Dominator Level robots. Now, with five more of the same level arriving, how could they possibly stop them? How could they possibly fight?!

When the five new Dominator Level robots appeared, they didn’t join the current battle. Instead, they made a beeline for the reservoir behind the three Beast Masters and their pets.

At that moment, facing five new Dominator Level robots heading straight for their destination, the three Beast Masters and their twelve Pet Beasts could only watch helplessly, powerless to stop them.

In fact, strictly speaking, they should have been grateful that these five new robots hadn’t joined the existing fray.

Otherwise, it was doubtful whether the three of them could have even escaped.

Powerless and helpless, they could only watch as the five robots broke through their lines and headed toward the reservoir.

A feeling of despair washed over them...

Just as they were contemplating a retreat, a thick bolt of lightning struck down, stopping the five robots in their tracks.

Immediately after, a Fire Mastiff, a Wolf Vulture, and an Apple-Eating Deer appeared, revealing the identity and Level of the newcomer.

Four Pet Beasts indicated that the newcomer was also at the Dominator Level. And since the Fire Mastiff and Wolf Vulture were practically standard-issue Pet Beasts for the Public Security Bureau, the newcomer’s identity was self-evident.

If Liu Changfeng and Xie Dongye had been there, they would have recognized her. This woman who had suddenly appeared, tall and elegant with a cold demeanor, was none other than the special agent from the Jiangnan Province Public Security Bureau they had fought alongside at the Yunwu Mountain Scenic Area—Zhao Xiwei!

The three Beast Masters took a moment to sense the newcomer’s power and were stunned to discover that of her four Pet Beasts, aside from the Thunderlight Leopard that had just attacked, the other three had all reached Dominator Level.

Clearly, her power was far greater than their own.

But even so, the three couldn’t help but worry.

Three against five—the advantage was still on the enemy’s side!
