Lin Yi casually twirled the dagger once before holding it up.

"The Bureau gave everyone a beginner weapon when we registered."

"That’s not a beginner weapon!" Wang Hao nearly shouted.

Several pedestrians glanced in their direction.

Lin Yi raised an eyebrow.

"Why not?"

Wang Hao leaned closer and inspected the blade carefully.

"This... looks like froststeel."

"Is that good?"

Wang Hao stared at him like he was an alien.

"Good? Froststeel weapons are usually used by mid-level hunters!"

Lin Yi blinked.

"Oh."

Wang Hao grabbed his shoulders.

Lin Yi shrugged.

"Maybe the Bureau felt generous."

Wang Hao looked like he wanted to scream.

Before he could question further, a calm voice suddenly spoke nearby.

Both boys turned their heads.

Su Qinghan stood a few steps away.

She had apparently approached the bus stop without them noticing.

Lin Yi looked at the blade again.

"You seem knowledgeable."

Su Qinghan ignored the comment.

"Where did you obtain it?"

Lin Yi answered honestly.

"Registration reward."

Su Qinghan’s brows furrowed slightly.

"That is impossible."

Wang Hao nodded vigorously.

"Exactly!"

Lin Yi laughed.

"Maybe I just got lucky."

Su Qinghan studied him for a moment.

Her instincts told her something about this situation was unusual.

But after a brief silence she simply said,

"Luck will not save you outside the walls."

Lin Yi nodded.

"True."

Su Qinghan crossed her arms.

"The beginner expedition in three days will enter Sector Twelve beyond the eastern gate."

Wang Hao blinked.

"How do you know that?"

"I asked the Bureau officer earlier," she replied calmly.

Lin Yi tilted his head slightly.

"And?"

Su Qinghan looked directly at him.

"Sector Twelve contains mostly low level monsters. But even those can kill inexperienced hunters."

Her tone remained steady.

"If you insist on joining the expedition, do not act recklessly."

Wang Hao whispered to Lin Yi,

"Brother... I think she’s worried about you."

Su Qinghan shot him a cold glance, causing Wang Hao to shiver a little.

Su Qinghan then looked at him for another second before turning away.

But just before she left, she said something unexpected.

She paused briefly.

Then she walked down the street and disappeared into the crowd.

Wang Hao stared after her.

"That’s the longest conversation she’s ever had with anyone."
