Dom re-read the notifications as they appeared in front of him, remembering that Golden Sun had mentioned on his blog that the World Rankings would be released soon. His excitement at seeing that he was on two of the boards.

"Top 100 Player and Top 10 Class Specific?" Dom said to himself as he looked at the notifications as they came in again. He was shocked, being in the Top 10 Class Specific with a Grade S Town was definitely possible, but he couldn’t be the only person who had played the game with a Grade S Town. Whilst being shocked and impressed by that, being in the Top 100 Players overall was a huge achievement, as this would be taking in to consideration the progress and actions of all of the players across World Conquest Online. He wondered if any of his friends had also achieved similar feats and decided to have a look at the key rankings first, hoping to see their names or if there was a search function so he could look for them, as long as they used their usual player names.

"System, please show the Class Rankings first for Lord Class." Dom asked.

"1st Place?" Dom questioned, looking at his position on the Lord Class leader board, totally in shock at how this could have happened. He wondered if he could keep this quiet from his friends, but realised they would see the same leader board and put two and two together. He then remembered that he usually went by the name White Wolf and could potentially push this off him for now.

"1st Place!" Dom exclaimed, out of all of the current players who were Lord Class, he had somehow reached the number one spot. He wondered what his rewards were, but also with his struggles, he wondered how other players were getting on. "System, what are the rewards for 1st Place on the Lord Leader Board?

[1st Place receives a premium seat at the Lord and Leaders Auction, Ten Thousand Golden Coins, One Green Cube of Choice, One Blue Cube and one Orange Cube.]

"Oh wow!" Dom said, excited at the additional rewards, some of which should hopefully allow him to spawn an additional bunch of Warriors, if he used it on the Forbidden Guards Warriors Hall he could potentially upgrade Riverside’s Town Centre again, however he would discuss this with his team first as spawning more Spartans or Cavalry may be a better option. He was even more excited about the Auction now, and knowing how much money he had in his treasury, plus the additional Gold Coins, he wondered what he could purchase that would help Riverside grow.

The Green Cube of Choice excited him, wondering if he could just choose a building or if he had a list of choices to choose from, and he was always grateful for an additional Orange Cube, but he would need to upgrade the Heroes Hall next time he had a wooden token for more accommodation, as the plan for a Nobles housing area hadn’t taken off yet due to the Inner Wall construction. He also remembered that he was due to draw the new Hero spawn from the Heroes Hall, so he had two new Heroes to prepare for.

He now decided to look at where he placed in the Top Player Rankings, and also wondered where his friends would be, he began combing through to see if he recognised anyone as he went.

"System, is there a search function?" Dom asked, not wanting to comb through all of the rankings.

"Please search, Hungry Dragon." Dom requested, deciding to search for Kai first.

Dom should have suspected this, Kai had started later than them and had currently not achieved much on his gaming journey. Dom decided to search for Andrew next.

"Please search, Black Hawk" Dom asked.

Dom was surprised that Andrew hadn’t appeared on the rankings, Andrew had began creating the Mercenary group and was sailing down the coast, so Dom assumed that if he had made it in to the Top 1000, then Andrew must have.

"Please search, Alice In Murderland." Dom said, lamenting at Alice’s gaming name.

"Wow!" Dom exclaimed, thoroughly impressed that she had made it so far up the rankings, he looked at some of the other names he had seen so far and couldn’t help but facepalm, who would name themselves ILoveBigBums on such a large online game.

Dom finally decided to see where he was in the Top 1000, knowing he was in the Top 100. He scrolled for a little longer before deciding to search for himself.

"3rd place?" Dom exclaimed, shocked that he had scored so high. He was surprised to see that three Lord players had made it in to the Top 10, and out of the Top 10 he was surprised to see that he recognised one of the names from Golden Suns Blog. He remembered reading that RisingMoonQueen had become a senior administrator in one of the game’s cities, and wondered what Dawn Destroyer and Golden Lion must have achieved to reach that level of the rankings.

"What are the rewards for 3rd place on the Top 1000 Leader board?" Dom asked excitedly.

[3rd Place receives a premium seat at the World Conquest Online Player Auction, Ten Thousand Golden Coins, the rank of a small Noble when visiting large Kingdoms and a set of Personal Armour.]

Dom was impressed with these rewards as well, they were more universal rather than Lord Class related, an additional ten thousand gold coins was great, they had worked out previously they had over 1,500,000 gold coins in Riverside, but these were for Riverside, this additional twenty thousand gold coins could be for his personal use in the upcoming Auctions and his Riverside wealth could be his fall back. Dom was far richer than most other players, or even game characters, could dream of, and he was once again grateful for their find of the Ancient Underground City.

The other rewards were also good, another premium seat, which he didn’t quiet understand the value of yet, as well as the rank of a small noble. The rank of a small noble was probably very helpful for players who were playing as Warriors or Adventurers, or wanted to set up stalls as Blacksmiths or Merchants, however as Dom was a Lord class player building up a Kingdom, he would have a noble rank regardless.

He was most excited about a set of personal armour, as he felt that the Hoplite like armour he had been wearing wasn’t as robust as that of either the Legionaries or the Forbidden Guards. If he could have something that was of a similar level, he would feel much safer when facing the enemy from the front.

"When is the Auction?" Dom asked the system.

[The Lord and Leaders Auction will be held in 3 days in Game Time. The World Conquest Online Players Auction will be held in 7 days in Game time.]

Dom was relieved at this, as he could time his log in’s to make sure that he was online. He had some planning to do in advance and was excited to see what he could purchase. He also wondered if he would be able to communicate and meet other players within the Game World finally, as he hadn’t met another player in his short time playing yet. Dom was going to check some of the other Rankings, but noticed he had been speaking to himself in the Tavern for a short while.

"Are you ok Lord Lazarus?" Lucius asked, seeing that Dom looked a bit dazed, "Training with Pullo can’t be that worrisome."

"You can always come train with me instead." Subutai laughed, "I’ll show you some Archery skills, you never know when you may need them!"

"Ha!" Dom laughed before replying, "We shall see about that, no I have some more rewards to use first that I have just received, then maybe I will take you up on the Archery."

"More rewards?" Lucius exclaimed, "What are they from?"

"Just for us being so great." Dom replied with a grin, "A Green Cube, a Blue Cube and an Orange Cube. I also received an invitation to an Auction in 3 days and 7 days, I suspect it will be in a place similar to the Golden Token portal."

"More Warriors then." Shang Yang replied disgruntled, "I’d have much preferred some more talented citizens."

"Let’s be grateful for what we have." Lucius replied, "However I do recommend we use the Orange Cube for a Domestic Hero not a Martial one."

"We do have a surplus of Commanders versus Troop numbers." Subutai agreed, "Not that I would ever turn down more experienced minds."

"Where do we use the Blue Cube?" Dom asked his advisors.

"More Spartans would be good." Subutai stated, "They grew up in a mountainous region and are Elite Warriors, we have also been building up your Elite unit so having more Warriors to fill that would be ideal."

"The other option is an increase in Cavalry." Lucius countered, "I know you are always wanting more Subutai."

"I am." Subutai agreed, "Cavalry may also be our strongest advantage against our foes if our battles are in the open. But if they are in forests or cities they are not as useful."

"We need more Archers." Dom stated, "A foot archer is what we need, and not those from the Forbidden Guards, as they are our defensive line."

"Well, let’s use the Cubes and then we can plan for your auction." Shang Yang said.

"And then you can go and train." Lucius added with a grin, much to Dom’s dismay.
