Chapter 101: THIRD POV.

"It’s rude not to show a guest around, don’t you think? Why don’t you show those poor fellas around the ship. It seems I still have a bit of work to do here."

The pirates all shivered when Priscilla cracked her knuckles all of a sudden, the sharp popping sound echoing loudly across the quiet water.

Her cold gaze swept over the tied-up men, causing all their hearts to plummet into their stomachs. They didn’t need a translator to know what that meant.

The grand captain wasn’t planning on giving them a second chance, and whatever mercy she had shown during the initial battle was officially gone.

’ She’s definitely pissed now...’

Jacob already knew what she had in mind.

There was no misunderstanding her words. While some of the pirates flashed him pleading gazes filled with absolute terror and grief, begging him with their eyes to say something or save them, he had no intentions of sticking around or stopping his captain.

These men had locked a ten-year-old child in a cage composed of unknown material and dropped her into the deep sea to drown for their own amusement.

Moreover, they had slaughtered a whole ship of innocent workers, causing untold trauma and grief.

They deserved every single bit of what was coming to them.

"Understood," Jacob said, his voice returning to a firm tone. He didn’t waste another second.

He turned on his heel and leaped onto the deck of the First Hornet in a single bound, landing smoothly right next to the group of survivors.

"Follow me, everyone. Best not to stay here for the moment," Jacob said, keeping his eyes away from the larger pirate ship.

" Wouldn’t want you guys to get scared for life." He muttered beneath his breath.

He kept his expression neutral, not wanting to scare the little girl any more than she already was.

He then gathered the people he’d rescued, and took them below deck into the small but safe living quarters of the vessel.

The air down there was cramped, but it was away from the open air, and more importantly, it was away from the sounds that were about to come from the other ship.

Shortly after, only Jacob came back on deck.

He had made sure the survivors were settled, given them some clean cloth to help patch up the young man’s bleeding side, and closed the wooden hatch behind him.

The air outside was quiet now, too quiet. The screaming had already stopped.

’Note to self... Never get on the captain’s bad side.’ Jacob thought, sucking in a deep breath of cold air to settle his stomach.

While still standing on the deck of the Hornet, he looked across the small gap of water at Priscilla, who was standing on the main deck of one of the former three pirate ships.

Her white, luscious fur, which was usually so clean and bright, was completely stained and drenched in dark red blood that dropped down her body, puddling around her heavy leather boots.

She was holding her massive sword in one hand, the tip pointing toward the floorboards.

The three ships were completely littered with corpses torn to shreds, with no living soul left in sight.

The wood was painted red, and the remnants of the wicked raiders were scattered across the decks like broken toys.

She had torn through them like a wild animal in a cage, leaving absolutely nothing behind. It was a brutal, total wipeout.

"I’d say, Captain, you’ve made quite a mess. I take it you never planned on taking these ships with you?" Jacob said on landing on the ship she was on.

He had jumped across the gap, his boots splashing slightly into a red puddle as he walked toward her, his arms crossed over his chest.

He tried to keep his voice light, but the sheer smell of copper in the air was overwhelming forcing him to hold his breath.

"What makes you say that?" Priscilla asked, turning her head to look at him. She raised a thick white brow, her golden eyes slowly returning to their normal color as the terrifying pressure around her finally faded away into the sea breeze.

She looked genuinely confused by his question. Why would she leave the three ships she’d just salvaged? Only a fool would do such a thing and leave good wood to rot in the sun, she thought to herself.

To her, a victory like this, meant taking the enemy’s rides as trophies.

"So you intend to sail all these things all by yourself? Need I remind you we now have a child on board, not to mention it’s still unknown whether her companions are capable of sailing a ship on their own," Jacob explained, waving his hand toward the three separate vessels floating around them.

"A ship doesn’t just move on its own, Captain. It takes a whole crew to manage the sails, steer the wheel, and drop the anchors. Right now, on our side, we have you, me, an old sailor miles away on the battleship, a bleeding teenager, a chubby lad who almost drowned, and three crying maids. We physically do not have enough hands to move four ships at once."

Her eyes widened for a moment as the simple logic of his words finally penetrated her thick skull.

A look of sudden regret emerged on her face, her ears drooping slightly against her head. She glanced around at the three ships, then down at the mess she had created on the deck, thinking to herself that perhaps she should’ve left a few of those pirates alive to help sail them back to the main fleet. Even a few bad sailors would have been useful for pulling ropes.

But at the thought of how cruel they’d been to that little girl in the cage, she quickly shook her head, her fangs baring for a fraction of a second.

No, she wouldn’t tolerate the thought of letting those sick monsters live for even another minute.
