Liam simply shrugged, then nodded, expression unreadable. “I suppose that makes sense.”

And then, Mize spoke, her eyes narrowed.

Her voice was light, clear.

"Then, are you here to fight?"

In a blink, ten powerful figures emerged in the air, encircling him in a precise formation, their presence pressing down like a mountain.

They hung in the sky with terrifying stillness, each one radiating a terrifying power.

The pressure was immediate.

Even miles away, the people within the city, both ordinary mortals and Awakeners, felt the oppressive wave ripple through the sky.

Heads turned. Conversations fell silent.

Above, clouds scattered unnaturally.

As though a giant hand had swept through the sky, parting them clean from the heart of the disturbance.

His expression was unreadable, yet his eyes glinted like tempered steel as they locked on the distant sky where the convergence was taking place.

“These auras...?” he murmured, brows furrowing. “So many true lords... all gathering in one place?”

His gaze dropped.

“And right above the same spot I sensed that unsettling presence yesterday… What in the world is going on in this territory?”

There was a weight in his voice now.

An apprehension and fear.

He wasn’t clueless. He understood enough of the bigger picture to put some of it together.

“The lord of this territory… terrifying,” he muttered under his breath. “If such a force really resides decides to conquer the region, then even if the top forces of this region allied together, I’m not sure we could win"

A beat passed.

Then, without another word, he rose from the roof with a light step, drifting upward into the air and vanishing like a shadow in sunlight.

“I need to see this for myself,” he whispered as he vanished into the clouds, secretly hoping that whatever firestorm was brewing up there… he wouldn’t be caught in the crosswind.
