These Dangerous Girls Placed Me Into Jeopardy

Lillian said she'd been waiting forever for this day.

Thinking back, she’d been muttering things like “Just a little longer...” since half a month ago. At the time, I had no idea what she was referring to. Turns out, she meant my discharge from the hospital.

But truthfully, I got out way earlier than expected. The doctor said my injuries would take three full months to recover, and I should be bedridden the whole time. But here I was—barely one month later—almost completely healed.

So I just randomly picked a day, didn’t tell anyone, and slipped out of the hospital on my own.

How did Lillian know I was getting out early?

When I asked her that, her answer was unexpected... but also made perfect sense:

“Shirley told me.”

As I walked out of the hospital with Lillian, I looked back at the inpatient wing of Harusame Hospital, where I’d spent the past month, and—surprisingly—felt a bit reluctant to leave.

“Honestly, if I could, I’d want to live here forever.”

She yanked my face sideways, hard. I was drooling by the time she let go.

But Lillian didn’t care. She casually licked her thumb, sucking up the spit like it was nothing.

If it were the old me, I probably would’ve turned bright red, not even knowing how to react.

But now? I didn’t even flinch at that kind of thing anymore.

Why? Because while I was hospitalized, Lillian took complete advantage of my immobility and cared for me as if she were my girlfriend—no, even more attentively than the nurses.

Feeding me, changing my clothes, helping me go to the bathroom...

If I ever reach the point where I genuinely think, “It’d be worth it to die at her hands,” then that’s probably when I die.

But for now, while I can still resist the allure of death by yandere, I’ll decline politely... I still want to live a bit longer.

Snowy was discharged way before me. Around the fifth day, actually. Her recovery speed was freakish—honestly way beyond what’s humanly possible.

But even after getting out, she kept coming back to my room. She even skipped class just to hang around.

All three desks in our class’s corner were empty for a while. Poor Ms. Jane probably cried in frustration...

Still, Snowy wasn’t like Lillian. She didn’t take care of me. She just sat quietly beside me, and completely ignored all of Lillian’s sarcasm.

Which meant Lillian couldn’t really deal with her, either.

Also, unlike Lillian, Snowy was clingy as hell. She never left my side. Even at night, she stayed over. Took advantage of her petite frame to slip into my bed, curl up in the crook of my arm, and... secretly lick me.

That’s probably why my wounds healed so fast. From all that “regular medicine changing.”

During my stay, Leon and Lan Hua came to visit, too. Lan Hua sent me weird messages practically every day. I’d really rather not remember the details. Maybe I’ll talk about that some other time.

Class rep Lyna even came with Ms. Jane to visit me on behalf of the class, brought a gift basket, and asked a few polite questions.

Lily also dropped by four or five times, though she never stayed long.

Lillian gave me this look like, “Didn’t peg you for someone who’s not part of the Pretty Face Fan Club.” If she ever saw Lily’s true form, would she despise me for that?

I glanced to the side at Lillian. She also turned her head and looked at me. Our eyes met.

“So? You heading straight home now, Ethan?”

“...Yeah. Gotta drop this stuff off first.”

Hospital clothes, toiletries, all that crap. Kinda hard to go anywhere with this load.

It was Saturday, too. Serena and Cora—my sisters—would probably visit me this morning. Better to head home first while they’re still on the way.

Oh, right—Lillian hasn’t met my sisters yet. They’re usually busy with school and only free after 5 PM.

She seems to understand that now’s not the time for a family meeting.
