The Rule-Breaker of the Doomsday Game

The ground was littered with bodies... oh, right. The combat task force from the Watchman Morning Company had died under the Divine Purification Force Field, so they were simply reduced to ash.

Not a single speck remained, so you couldn’t exactly call it a field of corpses. It even saved the trouble of cleaning up.

Qi Suian picked up the earpiece. It was emitting static. Apparently, some kind of signal had forcefully broken through the strong shielding field the AI had established using the Floating Cannons’ profound energy.

"Weaken the field. Let’s hear what they have to say," Qi Suian said.

The AI followed Qi Suian’s command, lowering the output frequency of the strong shielding field.

The voice in the earpiece gradually became clear.

"Are you trying to show off?" A deep, heavy voice came from the earpiece. It was Chunyu Bao’s father, Chunyu Hu.

The other party clearly knew his signal had gotten through.

"Of course not. I’m just defending myself," Qi Suian said sarcastically.

’What was he supposed to do? Show respect to a mortal enemy? When facing an enemy, civility can be an afterthought, and morals can be... flexible.’

"Unlike the Watchman Morning Company with its vast resources. Crushing an ant like me would be easy for you," Qi Suian continued to taunt.

’They were mortal enemies anyway, so there was no reason to hold back.’

"You’re right. You are just an ant." Chunyu Hu was not provoked by Qi Suian’s sarcasm and taunts.

After all, he had weathered the storms of business and politics for many years. His mental fortitude was far beyond that of his son, Chunyu Bao.

"I can give you a chance. Bring my son to our headquarters."

"I can personally write off any losses you’ve caused the company."

"You could also join our company’s upper management and become one of those who will rule the world in the future." Instead of immediately threatening him, Chunyu Hu began his recruitment pitch.

But Qi Suian didn’t believe him.

"That’s a pretty weak temptation. Besides, why on earth would I put my life in the hands of my enemy?" Qi Suian said scornfully.

’If he really went and joined the Watchman Morning Company like the man said, it would be like walking straight into a trap. At that point, not even the Tai Sui God could save him.’

’He’d be completely at their mercy.’

"Besides, you’re the one who’s confused. If I kill all of you, everything you have will be mine anyway." Qi Suian wasn’t stupid.

’Join the enemy for peanuts, or wipe out the enemy and get rich overnight.’

’The latter was definitely harder, but it was his only option.’

"Hahahaha!" Chunyu Hu laughed as if he’d heard a hilarious joke. Then he said, "You’re very young. One stroke of luck doesn’t mean you’ll be lucky for a lifetime."

"The power of the Watchman Morning Company is far beyond your comprehension."

"Becoming one of us is your best choice."

’Qi Suian glanced at his own Celestial Fate: Profound. With this kind of protagonist plot armor, how could his luck *not* last a lifetime?’

"I think my luck is pretty long-lasting..." Qi Suian retorted.

"Let’s stop this recruitment nonsense. Do you have anything else to say? If not, then just get ready to die."

’This wasn’t what Qi Suian wanted to hear. He was trying to figure out if his opponent’s intelligence had been nerfed. If it had, that would definitely be a good thing.’

’But if not, well, that was another story.’

"You’re very decisive in your refusal. But do you really think you can escape?" As Chunyu Hu’s voice fell, a multitude of black dots appeared in the distant sky.

These dense specks flew toward Qi Suian’s position at extreme speed. Each black dot was a missile.

"Ah... so you were stalling for time." Only then did Qi Suian realize the man’s true purpose.

"Of course. What did you think?" Chunyu Hu’s voice was tinged with arrogance. "I know you’re just an ordinary person."

"But you’re a *powerful* ordinary person. It would be a waste for you to die under artillery fire."

"Turning you into a zombie with a high concentration of the Profound Virus... now *that* would make you the best kind of test subject."

Hearing this, Qi Suian’s expression grew even more peculiar. Apparently, the enemy’s intelligence on him wasn’t completely nonexistent, but it was riddled with inaccuracies.

’Probably because his IQ had been nerfed.’

’Speaking of this Profound Virus stuff, when it came to concentration levels, if you combined all the humans and zombies, Qi Suian himself would still be sitting firmly in first place.’

’And now this guy was saying he was going to use the Profound Virus against him? Wasn’t that just like throwing a meatbun at a dog—a welcome gift?’

’For all he knew, the "high concentration" of Profound Virus the man was talking about wasn’t even as concentrated as the virus in the air Qi Suian breathed out.’

"Damn it! If I don’t die, you’re all dead!" Qi Suian pretended to be furious, crushing the earpiece. The AI opportunely restored the strong shielding field to its normal level.

"Tidy up the Subspace Pocket and partition off an area. Let’s grab all of this high-concentration Profound Virus."

"I was wondering why I was bothering to argue with him. Turns out my own IQ got nerfed; I was just waiting to scoop up the benefits."

’Qi Suian finally realized. Logically, even if he wanted to mess with his opponent’s head, he shouldn’t have done it standing still. He should have been running while taunting them.’

’As for the high-concentration Profound Virus, well, that had plenty of uses for Qi Suian.’

The simplest use was that, once compressed, it could be used as a material to refine and concentrate Death Potions. Previously, he had to get these materials from zombies.

That required a whole series of extraction and conversion processes. But with the enemy delivering it right to his doorstep, he could save a lot of trouble.

The missiles landed, but they didn’t explode. Instead, they released a large amount of black gas.

Before the gas could even spread, it was all collected into the Subspace Pocket.

It was a testament to the AI’s precise timing. Otherwise, propelled by the missiles themselves, this type of gas would have spread with incredible speed.

In thirty seconds at most, it could cover a radius of about five kilometers. And that wasn’t its limit; the spread would slow down afterward, but it would eventually envelop an area with a hundred-kilometer radius.

Especially since the enemy had launched so many missiles at once, they had solved the problem of the virus becoming too diluted by covering such a large area.

"With this much... using a tenfold concentrated Death Potion as a baseline, I won’t have to gather concentration materials for a year." Qi Suian felt that the Watchman Morning Company was full of really great guys.
