That’s right. After failing to eliminate Qi Suian multiple times, the Doomsday Game had directly launched a permanent event.

Most events were time-limited, but this one had no time limit at all.

’I just don’t know if the survivors will try to swarm me.’ Qi Suian was certain they wouldn’t try to take him on alone.

The most likely scenario was that they would team up.

He wasn’t afraid, though. The few tricks he had with his Floating Cannons were still powerful, and if things went south, he could always run.

As long as the Tai Sui God’s energy reserves didn’t run out, it could keep going until the end of time. Qi Suian wasn’t afraid of a battle of endurance.

As for its speed... well, let’s not talk about that. It was pretty average.

The Armor value was basically analogous to the Tai Sui God’s physique. However, one point of Armor wasn’t equivalent to one point of physique. Instead, a whole range of attributes—attack, defense, speed, and so on—was tied to this Armor stat.

However, that was a different story if corresponding modules were installed. Modules for weapons, shields, flight, and so on could improve these ratios to a certain extent.

Take Qi Suian’s Floating Cannons, for example. Once installed, their attack power naturally far surpassed the Tai Sui God’s normal attack capabilities.

After all, the core of the Tai Sui God’s Infinite Evolution trait was gaining extra enhancements through modules.

The Tai Sui God was more like a vessel for these modules.

Through intelligent control, the psionic energy could be diffused at a low-energy level to disrupt modern electronics and create an even stronger shielding effect.

It was a good thing the modules on the Tai Sui God and the Floating Cannons themselves were SSS-rank. Otherwise, if their rank had been just one level lower, they would have been disabled right along with all the other electronics.

Once that was done, the AI immediately took control of the Tai Sui God and carried Qi Suian away from the scene.

It was unclear if they were safe, but the enemy had definitely locked onto their position. The AI’s plan was simple: set an ambush and turn the tables.

The Watchman Morning Company naturally had its own satellites, and given their demonstrated technological prowess, they could definitely control any surveillance systems still in operation.

Qi Suian even suspected they had their own AI, though it was most likely not as intelligent as his own.

However, his opponents had better equipment, a superior environment, and more resources. This couldn’t just close the gap—it meant they could far surpass his own AI, which was unable to operate at its full potential.

This was good news for Qi Suian.

If they had resorted to satellites, it would have been a real hassle.

In that case, he would need the Floating Cannons to continuously emit psionic energy just to keep himself shielded at all times.

That meant the Floating Cannons would be unusable for anything else.

The Floating Cannons might be intelligent, but they were still a single system. They couldn’t output two different frequencies of psionic energy simultaneously.

They were weapons, after all. Their primary function was to kill, not to act as a shield. He was lucky he could use them for defense at all.

He couldn’t ask for more.

’Looks like this is my plot armor’s fault. A single "greeting" somehow dragged me into a whole mess of things.’

’Is this the part where I’m supposed to give a wry smile and rub my nose?’

Qi Suian suddenly had a thought. He was a protagonist, more or less; shouldn’t he get the standard protagonist treatment?

’But... I don’t have rhinitis.’ Qi Suian did suffer from a host of symptoms caused by the Gloom Virus—fever, fatigue, and the like.

But he really didn’t have rhinitis.

As for the wry smile, his life was certainly a bit of an ordeal, but he wouldn’t say it was truly bitter.

After all, he was still alive, while most of this world’s original inhabitants had already turned into zombies.

How could he call his life bitter?

He hadn’t been quipping to himself for long when he heard a whistling sound.

It was an aircraft—not a fighter jet this time, but a helicopter.
