“Hurry up. Stop playing around.”

Elizabeth was starting to get annoyed. The Saint’s defenses were absurdly strong — even while doing nothing but defending, she was managing to hold off the combined attacks of a Demon King and a high-ranking ally.

If that short Swordmaster came out and saw she hadn’t even managed to kill her yet, her face would be lost completely.

Even so, the golden figure above the clouds remained calm and unhurried, not showing the slightest intention of unleashing its full power. Elizabeth snorted coldly and continued to fire off thunderbolts.

Crimson lightning and a massive golden ruler took turns striking, clashing repeatedly with the six-winged angel who spread her wings to shield the town below. The violent explosions made the sea of clouds roll and churn.

Though most of the impact was absorbed by Lilian, the ground nearly a thousand meters below still split open inch by inch.

Lilian exhaled softly, her tone calm. “Burning of Sin...”

At once, the six-winged angel’s avatar began to burn, platinum fire climbing up its pairs of wings.

The golden ruler instantly recoiled, pulling back a distance from the six-winged angel.

From above the clouds, the golden figure spoke with solemn weight. “As expected of the strongest angel beneath the Throne. Even incomplete, the power you can unleash is enough to make others envious.”

“But you have your holy flame that burns away sin, and I have my measuring ruler that weighs heaven and earth.”

When those words fell, the seven massive rulers merged into one, transforming into a streak of flowing light that slammed toward the six-winged angel’s back.

This attack can’t be blocked head-on!

Lilian’s instincts screamed warning, yet her face stayed composed as she whispered, “Protection...”

The wings of the six-winged angel folded inward, wrapping around its body.

At the instant the two forces met, an invisible field of energy spread outward from the point of impact.

Billions of raindrops froze in midair, neither falling nor rising — then, as if the temperature had reached its limit, they began to boil.

Puff!

The rain curtain that had blanketed the entire town vanished without a trace. In an instant the sky cleared, and a springlike warmth spread through the air.

While Lilian caught her breath, Elizabeth snapped her fingers, firing countless blood-red spears.

Dense and unending, they wove into a net of scarlet lightning that spread across the sky, descending upon the six-winged angel.

Lilian sighed faintly.

The sky, which had begun to clear, darkened again as a mountain large enough to crush the entirety of Fengxiang Town appeared above the six-winged angel’s head.

The angel’s avatar dropped a hundred meters, the air quivering, a violent gust spilling toward the town below.

Within Fengxiang Town, a gale roared to life. Countless stalls and rooftops were torn apart, and the streets became a chaotic mess.

“Again!”

The mountain rose sharply, then crashed down once more. Each impact thundered like a god’s decree.

Boom! Boom!

Thunder split the overcast sky. Humans and vampires alike looked on in terror — many had never witnessed such destruction in their lives.

If that mountain struck the ground, at least ninety percent of Fengxiang Town would be crushed flat.

Cracks began to form across the six-winged angel’s body — first on the right palm, then the arm, then the shoulder, spreading to the entire right half of its form.

More and more voices joined. The vampires panicked, sensing that the scattered humans were coalescing into something pure and indestructible — a diamond-hard faith.

The voice, clear and resonant, touched every praying heart — merchants, peasants, adventurers, knights, nobles...

And then, as if divinely inspired, the multitude spoke as one, their voices rising together:

“Wind and rain nurture all things, each obtains harmony to live, each receives sustenance to grow...”

The nearly extinguished flame flared back to life. The six-winged angel lifted its head, opening its eternally burning eyes.

Particles of light gathered in its hand, forming a flaming greatsword.

Elizabeth and the golden figure both changed expression. They could no longer afford restraint and attacked in fury.

The six-winged angel raised the sword, pointing it skyward. Lilian’s voice was soft but firm.

“Divine Oracle... must not be taken lightly.”

The golden figure pulled the mountain before himself as a shield while twisting two fingers together, sending the golden ruler hurtling toward the angel.

Elizabeth’s body flashed into a swarm of bats, spiraling toward the angel.

“This strike is pure offense — no defense.” Lilian’s quiet voice fell.

Red, gold, and white energy collided in the heavens. The world turned silent gray.

Just when everyone thought the Saint Lady had won, Elizabeth suddenly shouted toward the void, “You dead spider! How long do you plan to hide?”

Pssh!

Blood spilled from Lilian’s lips. A short spear pierced through her chest.

The towering six-winged angel began to shatter inch by inch, dissolving into a rain of light that fell upon the earth.

“Saint Lady!!” The roar from the crowd shook the heavens. Those who witnessed it cried out in despair.

“Tsk, I’m here, aren’t I?”

Jiele Xiyin appeared behind Lilian, gripping the short spear. “Look at you two — pathetic. You nearly got wiped out by the former Swordmaster’s underling before even seeing the new Swordmaster’s face.”

“You bitch, did you forget how you died last time?” Elizabeth spat.

Jiele Xiyin sneered. She glanced at Lilian, whose body was paralyzed by venom, then turned her gaze to the furious crowd below.

“A bunch of insects, only loud. Let’s kill them all later, then lay a web and wait for the Swordmaster to show up.”

The golden figure above agreed. “The barrier is complete. This time, our victory is assured.”

“Three against one — the advantage is ours.” He looked politely toward the two Demon Kings below. “We will win.”

Elizabeth didn’t bother replying. She merely waved her hand, releasing a cloud of bats that wove a faint crimson veil across the sky.

The two Demon Kings and the golden figure began forming a trap array together.

“Hehe, Bat Queen, have you met that Swordmaster? How does her power compare to this Saint’s?”

“Not sure yet. She never gave me a chance to probe her.” Elizabeth paused, glancing at the paralyzed Lilian, and said coldly, “But cunning humans always hide a trump card. Better to stay cautious.”

“...Better to stay cautious.” The golden figure tasted the phrase, then said, “Didn’t you mention the Swordmaster has a daughter? Perhaps we could capture her—”

“Forget it,” Jiele Xiyin interrupted with a frown. “I already searched. That house was empty.”

It was a sword — wrapped in bandages.

The wielder was nowhere to be seen.

The sword aura was sharp and heavy.

That single strike tore open the mighty barrier spread across the region, plunging straight into the vampires’ fortress.

Jiele Xiyin felt a chill on her arm. She turned — her right arm, the one holding the spear, had been severed cleanly at the shoulder.

A sword split the heavens and embedded itself atop the fortress.

The blazing trail it left behind hung in the sky like the path of a falling star, radiant and unbroken — like sunlight piercing a darkened room.

Jiele Xiyin clutched her burning severed stump, staring in horror at the sword embedded above the fortress as its wrapping cloth slowly unraveled.

Vieya walked forward from the distance, one hand pulling the sword free. She spared no glance for Elizabeth, and none at all for the golden figure above the clouds.

Step by step, she advanced toward Jiele Xiyin, her tone calm. “Give her back to me.”

Jiele Xiyin smiled sweetly. “If you cut off your own arm, I’ll return her — and even give you a chance to join the demons.”

Vieya looked down at the Holy Sword in her hand and nodded. “All right.”

Jiele Xiyin blinked. “Really?”

Vieya gripped the hilt gently and whispered, “The sword’s name is Ruler of Judgment.”

A single, simple slash.

But the world lost all color. The dim town below blazed with sudden light.

Clouds parted. Wind calmed.

Just one sword.

Jiele Xiyin was cleaved cleanly in two.

Vieya turned toward the stunned Elizabeth. “Your turn.”

A horizontal slash.

Terror seized Elizabeth’s heart. She tried to scatter into bats or droplets of blood, but her movement slowed as though frozen in time — as if her body could move only one frame per second.

In that suspended instant, she too was cut in half.

“Three down, one left...”

Vieya lifted her gaze to the sky, raising her sword. A mountain loomed between them.

She swung again, splitting the mountain in two, and then swung several more times toward the vanishing silhouette above the clouds.

Relentless — one slash after another — until her strength was spent.

Thousands of miles away, the earth erupted. Hills and plains burst apart, leaving a canyon hundreds of kilometers long and thousands of meters deep — a scar upon the world.
