The Hero Who Became a Monster Girl Will Never Fall to Evil

With the arrival of the Demon King, the entire battlefield went quiet.

The monsters ceased their attacks, growling low and grinding their claws in place. Though they radiated violent savagery, at this moment they were as obedient as three-year-old children.

The human knights, hoping to seize the chance to strike back or carry away the wounded, suddenly lost control of their limbs. Their bodies froze stiff, unable to move at all.

The chaotic battlefield was swallowed in an instant of silence.

It was as if all color had drained away, the world reduced to a still frame of gray and white—except for the woman in red gauze at the center. Dressed like a dancing girl, dazzling and seductive, she alone brimmed with color and life.

One of the Seven Demon Kings—Jiele Xiyin. Her true form was a six-eyed hidden spider, but she preferred to walk the world wearing human skin.

Rumor had it that the earliest of those books were leaked by Jiele Xiyin herself, to feed her own perverse tastes, proving she was the most alluring Demon King on this earth.

All of it born from her terrifying, twisted jealousy.

But then—

Rotisha had already heard that in the southern domain, demons had fallen into rebellion. A newly born Demon King, too weak, had been driven out of the Demon King’s Castle by the elder Kings.

No—“driven out” was too soft.

That newborn Demon King had merely escaped with her life by luck.

Among demons, victors usually devoured the defeated, absorbing the authority within their bodies.

Only if the loser was truly worthless—too unworthy even to be eaten—would they be spared.

But even the weakest Demon King still bore authority. With Jiele Xiyin’s nature, once a newborn fell into her hands, being devoured was inevitable.

And yet, that defeated new Demon King had escaped and remained uncaught.

Not even in the Monster Forest, crawling with spiders, had she been found. Could it be she had blended into the human frontlines?

And now Jiele Xiyin appeared deep in human lands—had she come specifically to hunt the prey that slipped from her grasp?

Black Mask, the Demon King, and Rotisha stood there, none striking first.

“So it was all your doing.” Rotisha turned slowly, glaring at the Demon King behind her. Her voice was cold: “For your selfish desires you threw the entire southern domain into chaos, causing countless human knights and soldiers to die because of you...”

“Do not throw all the blame on me.” Jiele Xiyin said. “Without the permission of your kind, do you think I could just stroll in here so easily? As if on a holiday?”

She covered her lips and laughed, mocking. “Pitiful Hero. Cast aside by your master, and still you play the good dog faithfully. Come on—bark for me. Maybe if my mood improves, I will let you die a little easier.”

Before her words finished, Rotisha leveled her spear and thrust. The tip flared with a powerful field of reversal, dragging Jiele Xiyin into colliding with the point.

She tried to dodge away—only to snap back the next instant to the place she had been standing.

“Bitch!”

Furious, Jiele Xiyin’s right hand transformed into a grotesque spider spear and stabbed at Rotisha’s throat.

“Move in!” Black Mask still gave orders to his underlings, while retreating toward the edge himself.

At that signal, the monsters—until now frozen and growling—surged forward again, leaping at the nearest humans.

“Fire, fire, fire!” the gaunt second mate roared. The ark’s large-caliber magic crystal cannons were their most effective weapon against monsters, the only real answer they had.

But the monsters were too spread out, and the dragon-shaped beasts flying overhead were hardest of all to strike. The anti-air nets lacked the power of the main cannons and could not pierce a high-tier dragon’s scales.

The elven maiden turned silver deer was exhausted, unable even to hum her own songs of encouragement. She broke through the net woven of octopus-monster tentacles and charged straight toward the Demon King.

Strike the leader first to capture the thieves—one of the most effective tactics she had learned in her journeys.

Even knowing her chances were slim, she threw herself forward without hesitation.

Killing or grievously wounding the Demon King was their only hope.

A dragon swooping in the sky saw the elven girl’s intent. It dove, spewing high-heat flames that could melt iron.

“Quick! That bastard monster lowered altitude! Aim now!” The second mate, scanning the field, also saw her intent and immediately ordered the gunners to lay down covering fire.

But whether from distance or poor aim, every booming magic shell missed its mark. Not one struck the dragon. The thunder of the barrage went to waste.

Still, it was not wholly wasted.

The fire cover broke apart the monsters clinging at her heels, letting the elven girl counterattack the dragon above.

She ran faster and faster, like a silver meteor.

But Aislin did not relax in the slightest. She focused all her strength into her antlers, preparing to deliver a fatal strike to the Demon King entangled with Rotisha.

At that moment, the dragon that had been trailing her grew enraged. With a furious roar it surged forward, closing the distance in only two seconds.

Aislin’s hind legs exploded with power. The ice shattered, the wind howled. In that instant the silver deer was faster than lightning, a streak of white brilliance launched straight ahead.

The dragon behind could not even react before she vanished from its eyes.

“!”

The second mate rubbed his eyes in shock. A comrade that huge had simply vanished from under his gaze.

Jiele Xiyin’s spider spear pierced the Hero’s shoulder. She was about to tear it open when Rotisha again invoked her ability, pulling Jiele Xiyin three seconds back and starting to heal her wound.

The taste of blood was delightful. Jiele Xiyin licked the spider spear, savoring it like delicacy.

The spear carried neurotoxin, not easily healed by ordinary means.

She wanted to see how long this Hero could endure, burning through her power so recklessly.

Then Jiele Xiyin sensed a threat rushing from behind.

It was pure spider instinct. As the Spider Queen, her premonition was sharp and unerring.

She had no choice but to abandon her attack, spreading eight spider spears from her back like a blossoming flower.

But apart from those masked men taking turns, there were scarcely any monsters around.

So where did this hair-raising dread come from?

Jiele Xiyin stiffened. For the first time since arriving here, she felt true danger.
