.
Thirty minutes away from the Mar Azura Hotel, along the lower side of the mountain by the sea, lay a small market area that led to a limestone structure carved into the mountainside itself.
A sleek neon sign above it simply read Blue.
Two black Mercedes Maybachs pulled up one after the other in front of the entrance.
The chauffeur opened the door, and Julian stepped out first, looking dashing, drawing the attention of several women waiting to enter.
Ignoring the glances, he walked straight to the car behind his and personally opened the door, extending his hand.
A fair, delicate hand slipped into his, and Aliana stepped out gracefully.
"Thank you," she murmured with a small smile before her gaze shifted to the place Julian had brought her to.
They had agreed to arrive in separate cars, at Aliana’s request, so she could leave on her own terms if needed, and Julian had no objection to it, which she was grateful for. Not like she couldn’t deal with problems if they arrived, but just in case, she had also informed Nigel and shared her location with him, so that someone would be aware of her whereabouts.
"Are you ready?"
Julian asked, looking at the gorgeous woman before him, only for Aliana to turn to look at him and give a small nod.
He smiled before leading her inside the premises.
Even though they walked with a safe distance between them, yet they still managed to turn heads as they approached the entrance.
Whispers spread through the air like wildfire.
"Oh my God, who is that man? He looks so handsome," one woman in the line whispered.
"I know, right? Just look at his build, it’s like he’s been sculpted."
"Forget the man, look at the woman with him. I think I’m in love," a man said, his eyes fixed on Aliana.
"Yeah, she looks like a goddess descended to earth," another added in awe.
"What are you saying? She isn’t that pretty..." one woman scoffed, jealousy evident in her tone.
"That’s jealousy right there, Sofia," the man laughed, though his gaze never left Aliana.
By then, the pair had reached the front of the line, where the bouncers stood guarding the entrance.
Just as the bouncer looked up at them, Julian slipped a sleek black card from his pocket and presented it.
The moment the bouncer’s eyes landed on the card, his expression shifted instantly. Without a word, he pulled aside the red rope and gestured for them to pass. Leaving curiosity rippled through the crowd as the striking pair disappeared inside.
As soon as the doors opened, Aliana stepped into a blue-lit, cavernous corridor that led further inside.
And the moment she crossed the threshold, her eyes widened.
It felt as though she had stepped into an entirely different world.
The floor shimmered beneath their feet like liquid light, glowing in shades of deep turquoise and electric blue, as though they were standing atop a restless ocean. Above, the ceiling was nothing short of mesmerising.
Vast forms of giant translucent whales drifted through the darkness as though they were drifting in water. Their bodies pulsed with soft, luminous patterns, casting an otherworldly glow over the entire space.
Dim, ambient lighting in hues of violet and blue blended with the glow from above, wrapping the room in a surreal, dreamlike atmosphere. The air hummed music and bass, vibrating through the crowd that moved like shadows across the glowing floor.
To one side, a long, sleek bar gleamed under warm golden lights, contrasting sharply with the cool tones of the dance floor. Clusters of well-dressed guests stood scattered across the space, their silhouettes shifting and blending into the surroundings.
It wasn’t just a nightclub; it was an immersive experience, like stepping into the depths of a glowing ocean. And slowly, a smile began to form on Aliana’s face as she took it all in.
"So, how do you like it?" Julian asked, leaning close to her ear to be heard over the loud music.
She gave him an approving nod. "I feel as though I am inside the belly of the ocean," she replied.
A grin spread across Julian’s face, clearly pleased with her answer. He glanced toward the bar. "Let’s get some drinks. Or would you prefer a private seating area on the second floor?"
"Oh, no. No private seating. I think I would like to be among the crowd," Aliana replied.
It was how she always preferred it when she went clubbing, close enough to feel the energy, not tucked away from it.
Even though Jade wasn’t with her this time, she felt the need to loosen up after everything that had happened since her accident. That was precisely why she had agreed to come with Julian when he suggested it.
Julian nodded and led her towards the bar.
The place was alive, buzzing with people moving in every direction. Men were naturally drawn to Aliana, gravitating towards her presence. But each time someone came a little too close, Julian subtly stepped in, keeping them at bay without making it obvious.
As time passed in a blur of drinks and chatting, the crowd inside grew denser.
Even though Blue was an exclusive club, it wasn’t restricted only to the elite like the Ross Club.
Here, people from all backgrounds could enter, provided they had the money or the right connections.
After an hour had passed, Julian asked, "So, are you having a good time?"
"Yes. It is nothing like the places I visit in Astoria, but there is a different vibe here," Aliana replied with a bright smile that nearly blinded Julian where he stood.
Noticing Aliana’s eyes drifting to the crowded dance floor where people were moving to the beat, Julian leaned in suddenly. "Would you like to dance?"
"I..." Aliana stepped back a little and looked towards the dance floor, considering it.
But for a fleeting moment, her eyes shifted towards the upper level, as if drawn by something she couldn’t quite place.
The VIP section was dimly lit, its shadows concealing whoever occupied it. There was nothing there she could clearly see, nothing that should have held her attention, and yet she felt something... familiar and haunting at the same time.
The thought barely lingered before she dismissed it.
’You’re overthinking, Aliana.’
Without dwelling on it any further, she picked up her drink and finished it in one smooth motion before turning back to Julian.
"Sure, let’s go."
With a grin, Julian led her toward the dance floor, shielding her as he made a path through the sea of people. Just as they reached the centre, the music shifted to a more sensual R&B track, and Aliana began to move.
Her body swayed with the beat as the fringe layers of her dress moved like water. Her elegant yet provocative dance made her appear as though she were made of liquid.
The fringes in her dress caught the blue light, making her stand out vividly against the crowd. Her long blond hair, left free down her back, whipped around her as she dazzled everyone on the dance floor.
Soon, eyes turned toward her as if she were an alluring goddess of desire. The men around her watched with growing desire, wanting to be close to her... to touch her, to feel her, and to move their bodies in time with hers.
Sinful whispers rippled through the air around her, but Aliana remained unaware. She was lost in the beat, finally finding the release she had been craving.
While Julian, who had drunk more than Aliana, found himself equally lost in the music, failing to notice the men inching closer to her by the minute.
Just as one of them dared to step into her space and place a hand on her waist, everything happened too fast.
