.
.
"How dare you even try to touch me?"
"Baby..." Jacob straightened and stared at her with wide eyes as though he were genuinely caught off guard by the brutal punch. It was as if he had never expected someone as seemingly fragile as her to strike him with such force.
"I am not your fucking baby!" she hissed through gritted teeth, her eyes blazing with fury.
Aliana was past the point of pretending to stay calm.
The fear that had gripped her moments ago was now being drowned beneath a tide of rage so fierce that it threatened to consume everything else. Her chest rose and fell with uneven breaths as anger coiled tighter and tighter inside her, burning hotter with every passing second.
Because it wasn’t just the fact that this deranged man had tried to take advantage of her.
It was the thought of another woman taking her place.
The mere possibility felt like a knife being driven straight through her heart.
Gavriel... he had told her, tonight.
Tonight was supposed to be their long-awaited night when she wanted to completely surrender to her overwhelming desires for him.
But now, the thought of someone else taking her place bruised her mind, forcing unwanted, agonising images into her head that she refused to see.
She didn’t know how Jacob had managed to pull off such a scheme. If he had secured a literal body double to fool the world. It certainly wasn’t an impossible feat given modern technology and cosmetic advancements. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
But what she found impossible to accept was being trapped here and forced to endure this nightmare while some other woman might be laying claim to what belonged to her.
To her fiancé!
The thought alone was enough to make her see red.
Anger raced through her veins, surging through her body like wildfire.
For the first time since Diana had forced that cloth over her face, she could feel the fog clouding her senses beginning to crack. The lingering effects of that substance still weighed heavily on her system, leaving her weaker than usual, but rage was proving to be a far stronger force than fear.
It was enough to make her fight.
Enough to make her forget her trembling limbs.
Enough to drive her fist straight into Jacob’s face.
And if given the chance, she would do it again without a second thought.
Because she would rather break every bone in her body to fight back than sit quietly and play the role of some helpless damsel in distress while this sick man has his filthy way with her.
Jacob, on the other hand, saw the absolute disdain slashing across Aliana’s features. She looked as though she wanted to burn him alive.
Frustration and confusion clouded his mind because even though she was trapped helplessly in front of him, she still chose to fight him tooth and nail rather than surrender herself to him.
Just then, an unwanted memory from the gala flashed in his mind. He envisioned how Gavriel danced with her so intimately, his hands roaming freely over her bare back while she willingly accepted his touch.
She had looked so happy, so beautifully shy and content... a complete contrast to the freezing treatment she was giving him.
Unacceptable!
He had decided he would have her tonight, one way or another, and he had come too far to back out now.
Rising to his feet and wiping the fresh blood from the corner of his mouth, a toxic mix of jealousy, rage, and envy toward Gavriel twisted his mind.
A manic, broken laughter burst from his lips. He covered his face with his palm, his shoulders shaking, while Aliana continued to glare at him with unrelenting hatred.
When the laughter abruptly stopped, a chilling hunger flared in his eyes as he began stalking toward her, panting heavily.
"Aliana..." he said, his voice rough. "That really turned me on, you know. After all, it wouldn’t have been any fun if you had been so quiet."
A vicious grin twisted his face as he confessed, "I like to hear them scream, you see. And since you have decided not to behave and be a good girl, there is absolutely no reason for me to hold back anymore."
He tilted his head, his grin widening into something demonic. "Let’s see how a naughty little slut like you handles being disciplined."
And with that, he pounced on her.
Aliana’s head slammed against the concrete wall with a sickening thud. Pain exploded across the back of her skull, striking the exact spot where Diana had already bruised her during their violent struggle in the Vanderbilt bathroom.
Her vision momentarily blurred into darkness, forcing her to squeeze her eyes shut as extreme waves of dizziness washed over her.
Jacob seized the opportunity, pinning her arms before catching both of her wrists with one hand in a bruising, iron grip above her head, making her wince in pain.
He loomed over her, jamming his knees on either side of her waist to anchor her down. His other hand gripped her jaw in an extremely harsh, crushing hold, forcing a small whimper to escape her lips... a sound that deeply delighted his dark heart.
"I’ll teach you how to behave toward your master," he snarled.
With that, Jacob ruthlessly crushed his mouth against Aliana’s before her disoriented mind could even try to stop it.
But the second she registered the disgusting sensation of his lips on hers, every single cell in her body violently rejected the touch.
A muffled, helpless scream tore from her throat as she struggled beneath him.
At that moment, Aliana had never felt so helpless, so violated in her entire life.
A sharp pain lanced through her heart as the full reality of the situation came crashing down on her. This disgusting man was truly doing this. He had trapped her, overpowered her, and was now proving exactly how far he was willing to go.
Tears finally spilled from her eyes as she thrashed against his iron hold, terrifying thoughts creeping into her mind.
’What if no one comes to save me?’
’Is this really how it ends?’
’Gav... where are you?’
’Can you really not tell the difference between that impostor and the real me?’
’Will no one save me before this monster completely ruins me?’
And then something inside her finally snapped.
A searing heat suddenly spread through her body, growing stronger with every passing second. It felt as though something ancient and dormant deep within her had finally opened its eyes after a long slumber.
When her eyes flew open, they shone a terrifying shade of blood red.
A sickening crunch, followed by the wet sound of flesh and bone being crushed, shattered the claustrophobic silence of the room, merging with a deafening clap of thunder that shook the walls.
"Fuck!"
A painful, inhuman scream ripped from Jacob’s throat as he violently pulled away and crashed onto his back, both hands immediately clutching his groin.
His face turned a frightening shade of red, veins bulging around his temples as what was likely the most intense pain he had ever experienced exploded from his groin and shot through every nerve in his body.
He rolled on the floor, curled in a tight ball as he desperately tried to regain his bearings.
Just then, he felt a sudden, heavy shift in the air.
The temperature in the room warped, and a wave of intense goosebumps erupted across his entire body.
Suddenly, a loud sound of heavy metal shattering echoed through the space. Weakly, he forced his head to turn in the direction of the noise.
The moment he did, his eyes went as wide as saucers.
