The Adopted Cannon Fodder Made a Comeback

After Wang Shun left, Gu’er and Sun Jiaming called Liu Yuan. When they heard that everything at the mall was normal and business was good, they were relieved.

However, Liu Yuan told Gu’er that a two-story storefront across from their mall was being renovated. It looked like a high-quality job, and they were likely spending a lot of money on it. It seemed they were preparing to open a business.

Three days after Gu’er and the others returned, Zheng Xinghua used the money Gu’er had funded her with to open a shop for custom-knitting sweaters and wool pants. The shop wasn’t large, and inside hung many sample sweaters that Zheng Xinghua had already knitted.

Zheng Xinghua seemed to have a special talent for this. She could learn any knitting pattern with just a glance and loved to experiment on her own, even coming up with a few new designs. She could now knit a wide variety of styles and was more than ready to run her own shop.

Zheng Zhongshan’s health was much better than before, though he was still taking traditional Chinese medicine to recuperate. He was now also at the mall, working as an accountant, though just as an intern.

Cao Qiu felt her son was being too protective of his wife.

"No one can predict when they’ll have a child. When it happens, it happens. There’s no need to be anxious about it."

"After we arrived, the goods were selling quite well at first. But on the third day, someone else started selling white sugar too. Fine, let them sell it; it’s not like we have a monopoly. But their price was slightly lower than ours, and they had a huge supply. That’s just blatant poaching. If we didn’t already have two established, long-term stalls, we would have been hit hard right away.
