Today is the second day—the day I will go see Aleena’s grandfather. For some reason, my heart can’t stop pounding in my chest.

Now that we are all dressed and ready to go, we turn our attention to someone sitting carefree in the living room, biting into a huge chunk of watermelon.

"Maya, are you really sure you don’t want to go?" Theodore asks, and Maya instantly shakes her head in refusal.

"Tell that old geezer I’ll settle the score with him in the future," Maya says with a serious expression, a trace of annoyance flashing through her eyes. She somehow looks even cuter because watermelon juice is smeared all over her mouth.

"You little brat. Talking about my dad like that. Do you want to get your ass whooped?" Theodore says as he moves toward Maya.

Maya suddenly jumps to her feet and runs toward the hallway leading to her room before stopping halfway.

"Heh, I wonder who you’ll smack or punish when I go live with my sister. Perhaps, maybe, you’ll whoop Mom instead, right?" Maya says with a toothy grin, causing Tiriana and Theodore to turn red in embarrassment.

"This little scoundrel..." Tiriana mutters as Maya dashes into her room.

"Mom, Dad, let’s get going. You’ll only get yourselves worked up because of Maya," Aleena says to Theodore and Tiriana.

"That girl, she’s becoming more and more like Seraphina," Theodore says with a sigh.

Aleena’s eyes suddenly widen.

"Speaking of my big sister, Dad, is she going to come to my wedding?" Aleena asks.

Tiriana and Theodore look at each other and let out a sigh.

"The truth is, we told Seraphina about it, but she doesn’t seem too happy, probably because of that incident that happened back then. She said your dad was unfair to her for not letting her keep the child," Tiriana says in a solemn voice.

Theodore also looks a bit sad and regretful.

"But it wasn’t really Dad’s fault. Her fiance disappeared. We don’t even know who he is," Aleena mutters.

"I didn’t let her keep the pregnancy because she was still too young to be a single mother and had her whole life ahead of her. I was only looking out for her as a father.

"The truth is, I was a bit skeptical when you brought home a vampire as your fiance because Seraphina also told me that her fiance back then was a vampire noble before he suddenly disappeared without a trace. Seraphina left home believing her fiance is still somewhere out there. She said she would kill him with her own hands if she ever saw him again," Theodore reveals, emotion masking his expression.

"Wow, I didn’t know about this. I thought her fiance was an elf. So you didn’t tell me the whole truth," Aleena mutters, looking surprised and slightly betrayed.

Hearing Theodore’s words, I feel strangely uneasy. My heart beats faster, especially when he mentions that Seraphina is hunting down her fiance and intends to kill him with her own hands for abandoning her.

Well, not my problem. I just feel sorry for that unlucky guy.

"My impression of vampires worsened after that, but seeing that Jacob is such a great guy changed my perspective and made me realize I had been wrong from the start. There are good people and bad people in every race. Besides, something must have happened to Seraphina’s fiance. Otherwise, she would have found him by now.

"Anyways, Jacob, we aren’t taking a car. We’re teleporting there. Where my dad lives is the ancient way elves used to live—becoming one with nature. My dad hates civilization, and so do many older elves. They call us modern elves inferior because we have embraced technology," Theodore says with a small laugh as he leads us outside.

When we step outside, Tiriana suddenly waves her hand, and a pile of Mana crystals appears on the ground along with a long, thick piece of chalk.

Tiriana crouches down and begins drawing a large rune circle on the ground. As she moves, my eyes can’t help but follow the perfect sway of her ass as it moves with graceful elegance.

At the same time, I pay attention to the details of the rune. This level of rune belongs to the Advanced Magic stage, but for some reason, I understand about seventy percent of it. This is essentially her detailing the Mana signature of the place we are going. In other words, to use self-teleportation runes like this, one must have visited the destination before and know what its Mana signature looks like. For people who haven’t been there before, they can purchase rune diagrams of the location they wish to teleport to.

Nevertheless, many people avoid self-teleportation because it consumes a large amount of Mana crystals depending on the distance involved. The farther the destination, the greater the cost, so most people prefer using teleportation stations.

"Done!" Tiriana says, placing the final crystal into position.

Immediately, we all step into the center of the rune circle, and Tiriana begins chanting a spell. I notice that her chanting speed is very slow—roughly three times slower than Aleena’s, not to mention mine.

While Advanced Magic users don’t necessarily need to chant, there are situations where chanting is required, such as activating a rune.

Suddenly, a burst of blinding cyan light erupts from the rune, enveloping us. I feel my body being pulled by an unseen force before vanishing instantaneously. When I open my eyes again, I find myself standing in an entirely different environment that resembles a rainforest.
