Reborn with a Space: Hoarding Food and Raising My Kid

This huge creature was a real trump card.

Its pounce even had an immobilizing effect, and with that thick, rugged hide... If she could just ride on its back, swarms of smaller zombies wouldn’t be able to pin her down at all.

But how could she get this huge creature into her space?

Flora Bloom glanced at the Little White Tiger’s clueless expression. The next moment, she materialized outside, a piece of fresh meat soaked in Space Spirit Water in her hand.

Having already missed its pounce, the giant crocodile was still furious. Seeing the human reappear right next to it, it raised a claw and swiped at Flora Bloom.

Flora Bloom saw that it had no interest in the meat she was holding. As the massive claw was about to crash down, she instantly teleported back into her space.

From within her space, Flora Bloom saw the giant crocodile actually lie down, showing no intention of leaving.

Now she started to panic.

’This thing is huge. I can’t fight it, can’t even touch it, and now it’s decided to lie in wait. Just great. Now it’ll be hard for me to even get away.’

So, Flora Bloom started chewing out Monkey Two and Monkey Three.

"Seriously, you two. You steal some eggs, and you actually let the mother find you? Now you’ve gotten your master into a mess I can’t get out of."

Flora Bloom racked her brain, desperately trying to think of a way out. ’There are thousands of crocodiles in the world. If I miss out on this one, I’ll find another. But I only have one life. My life is more important.’

’Maybe I should just give the eggs back?’

Flora Bloom looked at the four crocodile eggs she had placed by the river in her space, and her heart ached at the thought of giving them up. If these four eggs hatched, they might grow up to be just as massive as their mother.

’Four giant crocodiles, and evolved creatures at that. One could only imagine their combined combat strength.’

’Well, what if I give back just one egg?’

With that thought, Flora Bloom emerged from her space again, cradling a single crocodile egg in her hands.

The giant crocodile had been lying in wait for a long time. It finally sensed a spatial fluctuation and caught a familiar scent.

It stared at Flora Bloom with its enormous, sickly yellow eyes but made no move. Its gaze was fixed intently on the egg in her hands.

Seeing that the giant crocodile wasn’t attacking her but was instead watching the egg, Flora Bloom cautiously tried to approach.

’If I’m not mistaken, is it afraid I’ll harm its baby?’

It seems a parent’s love is universal. Whether human or animal, the instinct to protect one’s child is the same.

Flora Bloom looked down at the egg in her hand, her little hostage, and a crafty smile spread across her face.

"Heh heh, want your baby back?"

When the giant crocodile saw Flora Bloom trying to get closer, it let out a deafening roar and raised its claw as if to swat her dead.

Seeing this, Flora Bloom, though terrified, decided to gamble. She lifted the large egg high above her head, met the giant crocodile’s massive eyes, and said viciously, "If you kill me, I can’t guarantee your baby won’t just happen to fall and smash to pieces on the ground."

The giant crocodile seemed to understand her words and froze in place. Its ferocious aura gradually subsided.

A triumphant smile touched the corners of Flora Bloom’s lips. ’Good, so it understands me!’

"Just let me touch you, nice and easy, and I’ll give you your baby back. How about it?"

Flora Bloom spoke as she once again approached the giant crocodile.

This time, the giant crocodile actually remained still. It didn’t attack Flora Bloom again, but simply lay there. Its massive jaws parted slightly, revealing enormous teeth. The putrid stench wafting from its mouth was almost enough to make Flora Bloom pass out on the spot.

Its pair of sickly yellow eyes stared straight at Flora Bloom, as if ready to swallow her whole the instant she tried any tricks.

Flora Bloom continued to approach, holding the large egg, until she finally reached the giant crocodile’s front claw. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

She kept a wary eye on the crocodile’s enormous mouth as she slowly reached out a hand to touch its foreleg.

Finally, her hand made contact. The cold, slimy texture sent a shiver down her spine, raising goosebumps all over her skin. But the thrill of it also excited Flora Bloom.

’Come on in, come on in.’

When the giant crocodile’s massive body appeared in the space, it sent a huge splash up from the small river.

Its enormous body spanned half the river, making Flora Bloom’s space suddenly feel very crowded.

The small farmhouse courtyard had already been filled with all sorts of living supplies by Flora Bloom. Even after she had organized everything, there wasn’t much spare room.

The plot of black soil by the river, only about half an acre in size, was already planted with her carefully cultivated vegetables and fruits. Flora Bloom had even planted some fruit tree saplings along the riverbank.

While there was still a fair amount of open space left—the gravel path leading from the farmhouse, the open flatlands on either side of it, and the empty ground along the riverbank—it wasn’t unlimited.

But when she tallied up the current residents of her space, it was clear that what once felt large was now becoming cramped.

Take the golden cicada, for instance. It was currently the smallest of her Spatial Creatures, but even so, it was significantly larger than Flora Bloom’s head. A single one was bigger than some of the smaller saplings in the space.

Then there was Vert. In just over two days, it had grown from two or three meters long to four or five, and it was still growing. Gazing at the clutch of more than twenty translucent green eggs by the river, Flora Bloom felt that a mother’s work is never done.

’The Little White Tiger might not be big now, but as its master, I have to consider how large it’ll be when it’s fully grown!’

Monkey Two and Monkey Three were already two or three meters tall, and Flora Bloom couldn’t guarantee they wouldn’t grow even larger.

And she still had to account for those two giant peacocks whose plumage wasn’t even full yet, not to mention the enormous pangolin.

’Heavens, if these creatures didn’t have a special fondness for the spiritual water and mostly stay in or near the river, where would there be room for them to even move?’

But today was different.

This single giant crocodile took up half of her river. Thankfully, it was staying perfectly still, guarding its four eggs. Otherwise, there would be absolutely no room for it to walk around.

Flora Bloom named the giant crocodile Juggernaut and ordered it not to leave the confines of the river. The banks were covered in her precious fruits and vegetables, which wouldn’t survive even a single light tread from its massive feet.

The only creature in the space that didn’t take up any surface area was the thick, fat earthworm under the black soil. It had now completely adapted to its new environment and had begun the laborious task of tilling the land.

Meanwhile, Monkey One seemed to have taken a keen interest in the newcomer, Juggernaut, and was gleefully running up and down its back. Flora Bloom instructed Juggernaut not to harm any living thing in the space, then returned to her own worries.

’If only this space were a little bigger,’ she fretted. ’Otherwise, once those four little crocodiles hatch and grow up, I really don’t know what I’ll do. Am I supposed to just parade around on crocodile-back every day?’

Just as Flora Bloom was worrying about the size of her space, she sensed that Little Armor, Big Peacock, and Little Peacock had found her location and were nearby. She exited the space once again.

Little Armor, Big Peacock, and Little Peacock had respectively brought her a cobra and two grasshoppers for her space. After collecting them all, Flora Bloom decided to end this mountain collection mission.

Her harvest this time had been enormous; she had practically become a zookeeper. The thought made Flora Bloom feel both pained and pleased.

When she returned to where Lianne Kendall was, she was surprised to find Oscar Owen and Neal Wallace there as well.

She greeted the two of them, and then they began discussing their departure.

Lianne Kendall was ready to leave, but she was reluctant to part with Boss Marshall. As Flora Bloom listened to her story, she learned that Boss Marshall was the one who had saved Lianne when the Little White Tiger tried to attack and eat her.

However, Boss Marshall didn’t seem to want to leave with Lianne Kendall, which upset her.

Flora Bloom had originally planned to sneak back and collect Boss Marshall into her space as everyone was leaving. But then she saw Boss Marshall return to the middle of a dozen or so other horses. It let out a majestic neigh, and all the horses around it stirred in response.

Flora Bloom seemed to understand the stallion king’s intention. It was unwilling to abandon its followers.

Flora Bloom had a sudden realization. If it left, how would these un-mutated horses survive in the apocalypse? Even if some of them might eventually mutate and evolve, that was only a possibility.
