Jade sighed softly. "Alright, Young Thorne, take Flora to have some breakfast. Pregnant women need to rest at this time, and get some sun for calcium!" Jade pulled Caleb Bloom aside. "You stay. I need to talk to you."

Flora Bloom and Lex Cross left the room and closed the door. Seeing the ferocious look on Flora’s face, Lex pretended not to notice, grinning as he took her hand and led her toward the living room.

In the living room, Sherman Lynch, Cynthia Grant, Saul Sterling, Five, Maeve Preston, Joel Bloom, and the others had already gathered around a table, eating a sumptuous breakfast.

When Ethan Monroe saw Flora Bloom arrive, he stood up and went to the kitchen to bring out the nutritious congee. "Hey Flora, Captain Cross had me stew this nutritious congee for you first thing in the morning. Don’t let it go to waste. Drink it all up!"

Flora Bloom looked at the huge spread of breakfast on the table—dumplings, eggs, noodle soup, and vegetable dough drop soup—and realized she was starving.

She lifted the lid off the large pot of nutritious congee. A mix of vegetables, egg, and diced meat simmered with the rice, its rich aroma making her mouth water. But the flavor was too bland.

"It’s too bland. I want a fried egg and some dumplings. If only we had some fried pancakes—the kind that are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I could eat a whole plate of them!"

Lex Cross ladled a bowl of congee from the pot for her. "Don’t eat such greasy food so early in the morning, or you might throw up again. Just have the congee. It’s not good for pregnant women to eat things that are too oily or salty."

Flora Bloom took two sips of the congee, then snatched a pan-fried dumpling from Cynthia Grant’s hand, stuffed it into her mouth, and chewed in satisfaction.

"Flora, that’s so unfair! That was the last one, and I only had two!" Cynthia Grant looked at Flora Bloom, her face a picture of heartbreak.

Five suddenly burst out laughing. "PFFT! Cynthia Grant, I told you you’re a pig, and you didn’t believe me! There were only ten dumplings in total. You had two and that’s still not enough? Everyone else has lost weight in the apocalypse, but you probably don’t even dare to step on a scale anymore!"

Cynthia Grant shot him a death glare. "Five, are you blind?! I have the kind of body that doesn’t get fat. You dare say another word of nonsense and I’ll sue you for slander!"

"Go on, sue me! Never mind that this is the apocalypse and not a society of laws. Even before the apocalypse, do you honestly believe anyone would have dared to accept your lawsuit, even if you filed it a hundred times?"

"You!" Cynthia Grant suddenly shot to her feet. "Don’t go too far!"

Five stuffed a fried egg into his mouth. "I didn’t say anything. Why are you getting so worked up?"

Cynthia Grant gritted her teeth, kicked her stool back, and stormed upstairs, leaving Five sitting there, stunned and at a loss for words.

Flora Bloom glanced at Five, her stare making the hairs on his neck stand up. "I... Sis-in-law, I was wrong!"

Flora Bloom picked up a fried egg with her chopsticks, pushed it under the congee to soak up the flavor, and said coolly, "Whether you were wrong or not has nothing to do with me. I’m not the one you offended."

Five’s face crumpled in distress. "I... I was just trying to tease her. Sis-in-law, I didn’t mean it."

"Don’t tell me. She’s the one you provoked, so why are you explaining yourself to me? Also, Lex Cross, I can’t drink anymore. Can you stop feeding me like this? I’m going to fucking puke!"

Lex Cross stopped the spoon that was incessantly moving toward Flora Bloom’s mouth. "What else do you want to eat then? I’ll get it for you."

Flora Bloom let out a breath. "I’m full. I’m going for a walk to digest!" With that, she stepped away from her stool and headed for the yard.

Lex Cross quickly followed. "I’ll go with you!"

After being subdued by Isla Preston, Chester Bell had been working in the yard for the past two days, either plowing fields, planting vegetables, and watering them, or cleaning the yard and the patio behind the villa.

According to Flora Bloom, the people who had been locked in a villa—Azure Leroy, Tianna Bloom, and Lucia—had all been released. All of them except Lucia had already left the villa district.

But Lucia remained, squatting by the quarantine wall and refusing to leave. As a Water Ability User, if she were to go out and join another team, she certainly wouldn’t be left without a place to stay.

After Rose’s roots delved deep into the ground in Flora Bloom’s yard, they connected with the root systems of all the flowers and grasses in the villa district.

Now, within the ten-kilometer diameter centered on Flora Bloom that she could sense, the entire underground was intertwined with the root systems of sentient plants that had acknowledged her as their master.

With enough water and time, they could not only expand further but also sprout new shoots and branches, allowing new flowers, grasses, and trees to flourish in other places within that ten-kilometer range.

Flora Bloom walked quickly ahead, with Lex Cross following closely behind.

"Why did you take it upon yourself to tell my parents I’m pregnant?" Flora Bloom suddenly spun around and looked right at Lex Cross, forcing him to brake to a sudden halt. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"Flora, you don’t want to make our relationship public?"

"That’s not it. But you could have at least let me get ready, right? Look, now that you’ve said it, my dad has a problem with you, doesn’t he?"

"Flora, I want to be with you, to watch our child be born safely and grow up happy. Rather than hiding it, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with just saying it. Even if your parents don’t approve, I will be with you!"

Flora Bloom sighed. "What’s said is said. But you’ll have to deal with my dad’s hurdle on your own. If he doesn’t approve, hehe, you’d better pray for good luck."

"Whether he approves or not, you’re my woman! Besides, he can’t beat me in a fight!" Lex Cross looked at Flora Bloom with a triumphant smile.

"You’re actually thinking about fighting my dad! I give up on you!"

"Of course I can’t hit my father-in-law. But if he doesn’t approve, I’ll just run away with you." As Lex Cross spoke, he pulled the woman who only came up to his chest into his arms.

Suddenly, two figures appeared in the empty space behind Flora Bloom.

"Boss, Sis-in-law."

"You’re here?" Lex Cross said calmly. He then gently patted Flora Bloom. "Flora, I have to go out for a bit. I’ll be back tonight. Take good care of yourself. Don’t you dare skip any meals!"

Flora Bloom pushed Lex Cross away. "I know, just go already."

Lex Cross narrowed his eyes slightly, glancing at the empty space behind a tree to the side. His brow furrowed for a fleeting moment. He leaned in and kissed Flora Bloom on the forehead. "Be a good girl and wait for me to come back. Don’t run off anywhere."

The entire safe base had now been almost completely destroyed by the Three-Eyed Gorillas. The only part left intact was her half of the villa district. She watched as Lex Cross and the other two disappeared with a few leaps and flashes in the direction of the area outside the safe zone. Then, the smile vanished from her face, and she looked toward the empty space behind the tree.

"Come on out, Yue Mao. Your spatial fluctuations can’t hide from me!"

Yue Mao’s figure flashed and quickly approached Flora Bloom. He saw her staring in the direction Lex Cross had just left, a somewhat lonely expression on her face.

"You like him a lot?"

Flora Bloom glanced at Yue Mao’s dead-serious face. "Hey, you didn’t come here just to ask me that, did you? This flower already has a master, and I’m about to become a mother. You don’t have a chance!"

Yue Mao saw Flora Bloom gently pat her own lower abdomen. There was a clear bump where her hand touched. "You two... you’re pregnant?"

Flora Bloom nodded frankly. "Yeah. So, what did you really come here for?"

Yue Mao suddenly exhaled, his mood seeming much lighter than when he arrived. "Sigh. Miss, I was originally hoping to rely on my good looks to be a kept man, but it seems the chances of success aren’t very high, huh!"
