When Seth Warren saw it was Flora Bloom, he let out a sigh of relief. It seemed Shauna Wallace was probably fine, too. Just as he was about to turn and leave, Flora Bloom’s voice stopped him.

Seth Warren froze for a moment before shaking his head. "No, since you’re alright..." ’Then she must be alright, too.’ He didn’t say the second half of his thought out loud. He just shook his head again, but his gaze on Flora Bloom was deep as he asked, "Flora Bloom, since you have this kind of power, why did you let the base fall into such chaos? I believe you’re far more capable of managing this base than Morgan Sterling ever was."

Flora Bloom was taken aback by Seth Warren’s words. "Why are you suddenly saying all this to me?"

"I’m sure you’ve seen the chaos in the civilian district today. Some people with superpowers are using their abilities to rob others of their food, even abducting women right off the street." Seth Warren frowned, his eyes darker and more troubled than ever.

"I know. So what?" Flora Bloom was well aware of this; she’d seen it with her own eyes today. But such things were commonplace in the apocalypse. ’If I had to meddle in every single case, how could I possibly manage it all?’

A strange look flashed in Seth Warren’s somber eyes. "So what? I know you’re powerful, and that even if everyone in the base combined their strength, they wouldn’t be your match. But with the apocalypse upon us, a safe haven like this could save so many lives. You have this power, yet you can’t bring stability to the base so we can defend against the zombies together. If you couldn’t do that, then why did you kill Morgan Sterling? At least when he was here, the base maintained a decent sense of order, allowing ordinary people without superpowers to survive.

Now, look at the base. It’s one thing for ordinary people to go without food and water, but now women and children are being forced to become the playthings and concubines of those with superpowers. You..."

Flora Bloom frowned at Seth Warren. "Wait, wait, wait!"

Seth Warren was stunned. "But they have no way to protect themselves. If they encounter a zombie, they’ll..." But Flora Bloom cut him off again.

"At the start of the apocalypse, wasn’t everyone an ordinary person? People with superpowers aren’t just born that way. Did you get your superpower by just lying in bed and taking a nap? If ordinary people won’t pick up a weapon and strengthen themselves, why should they be fed with the food and resources that people with superpowers risk their lives to get? Are they even worthy?"

Seth Warren stood frozen, his face deathly pale. It wasn’t that Flora Bloom was wrong; it was that he was realizing his own way of thinking had been completely and utterly mistaken.

"And let me make one more thing clear: anyone who dares to harm my family had better be prepared to die! I’m not so noble that I’d spare someone for the sake of a few nobodies. Seth Warren, I suggest you get rid of such ideas as well. Otherwise, you will definitely regret it."

One icicle after another shot out, accurately piercing the bees in the swarm. The frigid energy even solidified upon contact with the swarm, forming an ice barrier that blocked their flight path.

Flora Bloom raised an eyebrow. ’Not only has Tianna Bloom raised her superpower to level two, but she’s also become very skilled at controlling it.’

"Flora Bloom, do you think I’m the same Tianna Bloom I was two months ago? You’re just a Water Ability User. The most you’re good for is creating and storing some water for people every day. What gives you the right to be so arrogant?" Tianna Bloom was immensely proud of her own display, looking at Flora Bloom with a smug expression.

The BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ of the swarm suddenly grew louder. Worker bees the size of human heads slammed into the Ice Ability barrier created by Tianna Bloom. Within seconds, they shattered the paper-thin shield and charged forward, swarming around Tianna Bloom’s head to attack.

"Tianna, watch out!" Kirk Warren’s face was pale. He watched Tianna Bloom, wanting to help, but was tormented by the fact he no longer had his superpower and didn’t know what to do.

"Miss, where you can forgive, you should. Why must you be so ruthless?"

A strange voice came from not far away. A tall man, leading a group of more than thirty people—the weakest of whom was a level-one superpower user—was walking toward them.

SWOOSH! Several Wind Blades sliced past Tianna Bloom’s head with perfect accuracy, cutting through several of the fist-sized bees and rescuing her.

This Tianna Bloom was clever, at least. She had managed to protect her face with an ice shield. Even though her neck, arms, and collarbone were stung, leaving several venomous welts, her face remained fair and untouched.

The frosty aura of the Ice Ability User made the men in the approaching team cast friendly glances her way.

A beautiful woman, and an Ice Ability User to boot—a woman who combined beauty and power was exactly the type that powerful men in the apocalypse would flock to.

What’s more, at this moment, the rescued Tianna Bloom suddenly put on an expression of terror and fear. Looking at Flora Bloom, she began to cry, her face a picture of tear-stained beauty.

She looked at Flora Bloom, raising a hand to dab at the glistening tears in her eyes. "Flora, even though you stole my fiancé, you’re still my cousin! I never blamed you! But you... sob..."

Flora Bloom watched Tianna Bloom’s tearful performance, speechless. "Psycho," she muttered, then turned to leave through the quarantine door. She didn’t have time to play along with this act.

The one who spoke was the leader of the group. He was the very reason Flora Bloom wanted to leave; she didn’t want to confront a Middle Level Wind Ability User right now.

Although she was confident she could beat him, his team of thirty people also included two other Middle Level superpower users—one Water Element and one plant-based. Of the others, eight had reached Level 3 superpowers, and the rest were level-one and level-two users.

Her behemoth had fallen into a deep sleep after returning to her space, and none of her little pets had woken up yet. Confronting these people now would not be a wise move.

"My name is Tianna Bloom, and I..." She started sobbing again mid-sentence, as if recalling some great sorrow. "Sigh, I’m her biological cousin!"

After hearing this, the man’s face visibly darkened as he turned back to Flora Bloom. "Since you’re family, I think you have even more reason to apologize to your cousin!"
