Flora Bloom was getting really tired of these people hounding her. In a perfectly good safe zone, humans should have been uniting to fight the zombie hordes and other undead creatures outside, not scheming against each other and wasting their own strength.

Most importantly, she just wanted to take her parents and friends to a quiet place, kill some zombies, level up, and safely give birth to her child. She just wanted to live a decent life in this apocalypse.

’Why is it so hard?’

Flora Bloom sighed, her expression growing impatient as she looked at Seth Warren and his cronies.

"Hey, you’ve all said so much. Have you considered our perspective at all?"

Her exasperated words were misinterpreted as a helpless plea for peace. Heath Holden, in particular, roared with laughter. "Consider you? HAHAHAHA! Scared now, are you? It’s too late! Brothers, stop wasting your breath! That little Thunder Element white tiger isn’t around. They only have one Water Ability User—they’re no threat! Fire Ability Users, prepare to attack!"

Seth Warren stared at Shauna Wallace with a strange sort of tenderness, sending a chill down her spine. "Hey, beautiful," he said. "If you come over to my side right now, I can still protect you!"

Seth Warren was confident that in a situation like this, anyone would choose to side with the stronger party.

But he was wrong.

Shauna Wallace completely ignored him. She pretended not to hear a word, standing beside Flora Bloom with her fists clenched, ready to heal her teammates at a moment’s notice. After a full night of using and recovering her superpower, she discovered her control over her healing ability had grown stronger. Standing as part of Flora Bloom’s team made her feel more self-assured and confident.

Flora Bloom, on the other hand, just gave Heath Holden, Seth Warren, and the rest a weary, exasperated look.

"Are you guys idiots or something? What I mean is, you’re way too full of yourselves. How do you expect to fight me with this ragtag bunch of small fry?"

The air began to crackle not only with the energy of the Fire Element, but also with that of the Earth and Wood Ability Users, who were gathering their superpowers for an attack.

The first few rows of superpower users surrounding them were mostly Fire and Wood Element types—one specializing in offense, the other in control. There were also several Gold Ability Users mixed in, ready to launch a surprise attack at any moment.

"Well, it looks like you all prepared quite thoroughly for us! So many Fire Ability Users ready for a frontal assault... but don’t you know that water beats fire? Besides, victory for a Water Ability User doesn’t depend on numbers, you know!"

As she finished speaking, a thick mist began to rise from the ground at the crowd’s feet, swiftly enveloping the entire high-rise district.

After reaching Level 3, Flora Bloom found that by drawing on the abundant Water Energy of Morhaven, her mist-spreading ability had a much greater effect.

For one, its range had more than doubled. Furthermore, anyone enveloped in her mist found their powers suppressed. This wasn’t limited to Fire Element users, who were utterly neutralized; even users of other elements were affected. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Take the Wood Ability Users, for instance. They should have had an advantage against her. After all, water beats fire, but water nourishes plants, and plants can absorb energy from water.

However, Flora Bloom’s water was different. Not only did it completely prevent any Fire Ability User below the Second Level from even activating their powers, but it also caused the freshly summoned vines of the Wood Ability Users to rapidly dehydrate.

The once lush, green vines shriveled into dry, lifeless branches, as if their sap had been completely drained. Not only that, but several Wood Ability Users also felt their spiritual power deplete, losing control of their summoned vines. They collapsed to the ground, their faces deathly pale.

Moreover, now that she was Level 3, Flora Bloom could control the mist to completely obscure the enemy’s vision. They couldn’t see her team, nor could they even see the person standing next to them.

As a result, the two factions that had come to corner them were suddenly reduced to headless flies, stumbling around blindly in the dense fog.

"What is this? Where did all this fog come from?"

"Hey! Who was that? Who bumped into me!"

"AGH! Who the hell is burning me?"

"Argh! My leg! Someone just slashed my thigh with a blade!"

"Damn it, who just groped me!"

"Ow! Who threw a rock at me! I’ll kill you for that!"

Voices erupted from all over as people, unable to see one another, panicked in the mist. Blindness breeds fear and tension. The moment someone lashed out, the person they hit would inevitably strike back out of self-preservation, triggering widespread chaos.

"Cynthia, tie up their leaders for me!"

Hearing Flora Bloom’s command, Cynthia Grant excitedly shot out four vines, binding Seth Warren, Kirk Warren, Heath Holden, and Chester Sawyer tightly.

Nourished by Flora Bloom’s Water Energy, Cynthia Grant felt a seemingly endless power reinforcing the toughness and strength of her vines. Even Heath Holden, a Level 3 defense-type user, couldn’t break free.

"Mr. Wallace, set them on fire!"

"Roger!" Neal Wallace unleashed his fire into the mist. Instead of being weakened, the flames actually grew stronger under Flora Bloom’s control.

The fire spread, surrounding everyone in the mist except for the four captured leaders. A new wave of agonized screams immediately followed.

But along with the screams of pain from the mist, the faint, coppery scent of blood began to drift out.

Flora Bloom’s keen senses told her something was wrong.

A blurry figure, dagger in hand, weaved nimbly through the ranks of Seth Warren’s and Heath Holden’s men. With every darting movement, another life was extinguished.

In ancient times, this would have been the work of a master assassin.

But to Flora Bloom, that aura of superpower was all too familiar. It was the man who had stolen her Level 3 Crystal Core.

After claiming a few more lives, he vanished again, leaving no trace to follow.

"Cynthia, did you see that figure?"

Cynthia Grant stared blankly in the direction Flora Bloom was pointing, then looked back at her. "What figure? I didn’t see anything!"

Flora Bloom’s heart skipped a beat. ’This man’s movements are too fast! The fluctuations of his superpower are on par with Morgan Sterling’s. He’s improved so much since that night... it even feels like he’s on the verge of a breakthrough.’

’It’s a good thing he doesn’t seem to be an enemy. If he were, I can’t imagine what a nightmare he’d become.’

’Imagine just walking down the street. If he targeted you, your throat would be slit before you even saw him coming. A single, fatal blow.’

Flora Bloom sent a towering wall of water rushing toward where the figure had been, but it only managed to knock down a line of Seth Warren’s and Heath Holden’s men. The man himself was nowhere to be seen.

But the next second, Flora Bloom felt a chill run down her spine. A thick water shield instantly materialized behind her, and she heard a playful, teasing male voice whisper from just behind her ear.

"Hey there, pretty lady, no need to be so bloodthirsty! I’m here to help you, you know."

The moment he finished speaking, the man’s figure vanished, only to reappear a second later as he claimed another enemy’s life.

Flora Bloom’s expression darkened instantly.

’Me, bloodthirsty? I haven’t even killed anyone yet!’

It wasn’t just her; even Neal Wallace’s fire had only managed to kill a dozen of the enemy’s men who didn’t have superpowers. The actual superpower users, even while blinded, could rely on their instincts and sense of direction to evade the danger.

Just then, she instinctively sensed two unfamiliar energies appear beside her. Both were terrifyingly powerful and didn’t seem to belong to any known element.

She was just about to conjure a thick, protective water shield to envelop her group when two familiar figures suddenly appeared before her. They looked at her respectfully, nodded slightly, and said:
