While sitting in her father’s library, Ruby was fuming.

There was nothing but silence in the room. Her mother was fiddling with her fingers in confusion, not knowing what to say.

There was tension on her father’s face while Tom leaned back comfortably in the chair.

"I told you to trust me and hand over your business, George," Tom chuckled, "And now your daughter will sell it and enjoy every cent," He seemed to be enjoying the situation.

He always liked having an upper hand on everyone. Soon, his company, Star Realty, would thrive more because he was expecting some bomb deals with other investors.

Ruby got up from her chair and went to her father, to sit on the floor near his feet, "Papa," She placed her hands on his knees, "Did you check the CCTV footage of the hospital? We should see who brought those documents to you and got them signed."

Her father rested his head against the back of his chair and closed his eyes, "Yes. I did. There was no camera in the room. Sienna is now the owner of my business, and legally, I can’t claim it back for at least two years."

"What if... what if she decides to visit the office and starts getting the profits?" Ruby expressed her concern, "Don’t you think we also have a right to that money?"

For her better roles in movies, Ruby needed to look good, and she didn’t have any money to spend on her facials and other salon services.

"You all are fools if you think that you’ll get the company back," Tom’s eyes gleamed with quiet amusement, "It might not be making money... but ... That bastard... Hunter Levisay... he is a free loader. He will easily convince her to sell it. Didn’t you see how he acts in her presence? I’m not a fool. All he cares about is money, but knows how to win her heart."

His words had weight. Everyone was aware that Tom was right. Hunter was flat broke and couldn’t even afford basics.

Sienna was innocent, and the way Hunter was showing her care, they were sure that the company was not in good hands.

Poor Ruby was stunned by this unexpected turn of events. Hunter was being affectionate towards her sister. Papa lost his leg. Sienna got the family company so easily.

What was going on?

She kept thinking about it while playing with her diamond necklace.

What must be its cost? She thought to herself.

What if I sell it and get a handsome amount?

The sound of the car door slamming snapped her back to the present.

They had reached home, and Tom had walked ahead without even a backward glance, leaving his wife in the car. He didn’t even wait for his wife to join him.

How about a sexy nightgown? She thought with a naughty smile and chewed her lower lip.

She knocked on the door and then opened it without waiting for Tom’s response. Tom was sitting at the edge of his bed, wearing only a pair of shorts, studying a file.

Ruby knew his body. She was aware when to bring it to life.

Several lines appeared on Tom’s forehead when he felt a presence in his room. He looked up and found Ruby standing there in a see-through gown, wearing nothing underneath.

"Why are you here?" He asked, shifting his gaze to the paper he was reading. He didn’t even bother to glance her way again. An uncertain smile crossed Ruby’s lips, but she was not here to give up.

"I thought you might need my company," She giggled and shook her head, causing her hair to sway over her shoulders.

She then brushed her fingers through her hair, "Can I join you tonight?" She asked him.

"Hmm?" Tom was still busy reading the document.

Ruby wanted to stay positive, "I need you tonight, darling," her voice turned a little sultry. Inviting.

"Where is the necklace?" He asked her, picking up another sheet from the side table.

"Necklace?" She blinked in confusion.

"Yeah. The necklace I gave you before we left for the dinner."

A measured smile curled her lips, "I’ll be back in a while," she left the room.

In her previous life, she had burned with jealousy when she saw Sienna wearing that necklace at the family dinner.

But now she was the owner of it.

She went back to her room and wore the necklace.

Hmm. So, mister husband wants to see me in it. She told herself and headed to Tom’s room.

"Hey. I’m back!" She told him good-naturedly and placed her hands on her hips in style.

"Give it to me," He said in a deadpan tone.

"Sorry?"

He suddenly threw the papers away and got to his feet, making her flinch, "Can’t you hear me at once?" His gaze then dropped to her collarbone, where the necklace rested against her skin, "Who the hell asked you to wear it back. Give it to me. Right now!"

Ruby tried to smile, "Give it back to you?" She swallowed, "Wasn’t it a gift?"

Tom seemed to lose his patience. He moved towards her and held her hair in his fist, "Why would I gift you something so precious?" He hissed near her ear, "Now return it before I chop off your head."

Several beads of sweat appeared on Ruby’s forehead.

No. No. This can’t be happening. He loved me. He used to shower all expensive gifts on me.

"Tom," She tried to suppress the pain in her voice, "Are you sure, honey? Don’t you think this suits me and..."

Slap!

Tom didn’t even give her a chance to finish it.

With her hand on her cheek, she was looking at him with wide eyes. He was busy taking off the necklace.

He checked it closely and then went to the iron safe. After punching the code, he placed it carefully there.

He then looked behind him as his lips spread into a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, "Nothing is yours. Okay? Everything belongs to me."

He then went back to her and, without warning, slapped her other cheek, "Next time defy my orders, and I’ll send you back to your parents in a coffin."

Ruby swallowed hard.

Her mind wasn’t ready to accept whatever was happening.

"Now. What were you saying?" His eyes travelled over her body. He then lifted her gown and placed his hand on her ass to pull her closer, "You want it. Right?" He whispered while getting rid of his shorts, "Now be a good girl and make me happy, brother."

Brother?

At this moment, nothing made sense to Ruby. She didn’t protest when he penetrated inside her and started moving. She could hear his moans and grunts, but stayed there like a dummy.

Within one or two minutes, he found his release and then pushed her away, "Good girl," He fell back on his bed and closed his eyes.

"Tomorrow..." He murmured, "Prepare a mushroom omelette for my guest and me. At seven a.m. sharp. Oh, brother..."
