What an arrogant, overbearing voice!

This was, after all, a threat directed at the Young Master of the Nangong Family—one of the Seven Great Families of Southern Continent.

Across the entire Southern Continent, especially in Thousand Lakes Country, few among his peers would ever dare threaten him like this. Wasn’t everyone who met him always deferential and respectful?

And yet, someone now dared to declare that he must die!

Everyone was utterly shocked, their eyes snapping toward the source of the voice.

A youth emerged from a sand dune near the west gate of the Ancient Ruined City, his face dark and grim.

Everyone’s expression changed drastically at the sight of the youth, their eyes filled with shock and confusion!

He was just a youth at the Innate Sixth Layer, yet he had managed to get this close without anyone present detecting him. No one had any idea when he had slipped into hiding nearby.

’The thought alone was terrifying. Thank goodness he’s only an Innate Sixth Layer youth. If a Grandmaster had been able to sneak up on us so stealthily, an assassination attempt would have been impossible to guard against.’

The newcomer was, of course, Jiang Jichen. He had originally been using Invisibility within the sand dune, intending to remain a detached observer and listen in. But after hearing what Nangong Jinjie said to Hua Xiaoling, he could stand it no longer and revealed himself.

He did so even though he knew that many of his powerful enemies were ahead of him. Appearing now was incredibly dangerous; he could very well die here.

Jiang Jichen stared coldly at Nangong Jinjie, making no effort to hide the killing intent in his eyes.

"It’s you. Heh... To think it’s you, you lowly cur. I didn’t let you join our group back then, figuring you’d die on the road. I never thought you’d make it this far. Since that’s the case, it must be heaven’s will for you to die by our hands."

The first to speak upon seeing Jiang Jichen was Nangong Zhao.

Back in Fenggu Town, he had seen Jiang Jichen once. Of course, he remembered him—the little Loose Cultivator Hua Xiaoling had wanted them to take with them.

At the time, he’d told Jiang Jichen to join the Loose Cultivator group, assuming he’d be weeded out along the way. He never expected the boy to make it to the gates of the Ancient Ruined City alive. That was certainly a surprise.

Of the large group that had followed them, only about seventy had made it this far.

Wei Xiaohao, in particular, couldn’t help but smirk mockingly as he watched the members of the Nangong Family.

In contrast to Wei Xiaohao, others like Wei Xiaolang and Zhongg Li were simply stunned. They couldn’t fathom how Jiang Jichen had returned alive from that dark, deathly abyss.

’But whatever the reason, now that he’s appeared, they could get back the Dao Spirit Flower and the Rootless Spiritual Spring. For them, this was a good thing.’

Guo Qishan gritted his teeth. "Don’t any of you try to take him from me! Jiang Jichen killed my little brother. His life belongs to me!"

At Guo Qishan’s words, the members of the Nangong Family suddenly fell silent.

’He even dared to kill Guo Qishan’s little brother? This guy... maybe he isn’t so simple after all.’

Even Nangong Jinjie and Nangong Zhao were stunned for a moment.

Nangong Jinjie didn’t believe it, but Guo Qishan had hardly believed it himself. The fact remained, however, that Guo Qilin was dead.

Furthermore, he had been certain that Jiang Jichen had died in the Poisonous Insect Valley. Back then, he had been facing a High Tier, Earth Level Poison Beetle King. And yet, here he was, standing before him, alive and well.

It was all too incredible, too unbelievable, too shocking!

This seemed to be the consensus among everyone present who recognized Jiang Jichen.

Zhongg Li, in particular, had now witnessed Jiang Jichen perform a miracle twice. He was practically numb to it.

’Unless I see him killed with my own eyes, see his corpse, I won’t believe this kid is truly dead.’

Before the west gate of the Ancient Ruined City, the appearance of a single young Junior Cultivator had made the atmosphere strange and tense.

Everyone’s attention was fixed on Jiang Jichen, but he didn’t spare them a single glance. His eyes finally settled on Hua Xiaoling. "What’s the point of killing one insignificant member of the Nangong Family?" he said. "If you want revenge, you should wipe out their entire clan. To do that, you must live. Live until you are strong enough to destroy them with your own hands. And I will walk that path with you."

Jiang Jichen’s voice was calm, as if he were discussing a trivial matter.

However, his words sent a chill down the spines of all who heard them.

Jiang Jichen’s words were beyond audacious. To speak of wiping out the Nangong Family, one of the Seven Great Families of Southern Continent... compared to that, his earlier threat to kill Nangong Jinjie was mere child’s play.

Of course, his words were utterly baseless. No one believed him.

After all, any threat had to be backed by immense power.
