Maids VS Apocalypse

"The... the same..."

Lara muttered the word as she stared at him absentmindedly. The rosy color covering her cheeks seemed to grow more prominent and she couldn’t bring herself to meet his gaze for long.

’Ah, this is going to be troublesome...’

The calm and stoic Lara was acting all shy as she struggled to make a request. The sight was too adorable, so much so that Mark had to look away and cover the smile creeping on his face.

’Calm down, damn it!’ He yelled inwardly. ’This is a serious matter!’

Mark thought his words thoroughly and glanced at the silver-haired maid.

"I don’t know the exact amount, but I can try giving you some of my blood from time to time. That way we can learn how much you need and create a schedule for when to give it to you."

When writing that part of the story Mark didn’t go into too much detail. He only stated that the protagonist gave the dhampir a small amount and that was it. Because of that, he had no idea how much a real-life version of her would need.

’I guess she wouldn’t be excited about doing it again and again...’

The desire for blood belonged to the vessel, which was modeled after a dhampir. It wouldn’t be strange for the entity residing inside it to be against the idea of biting a human and drinking his blood, or doing it at regular intervals just so she wouldn’t lose control.

Lara still looked conflicted even after he explained his offer. It made him want to find a solution to her trouble and thankfully it didn’t take him long to come up with one.

"Would you like to use a cup?" He asked.

The maid didn’t seem to hear him at first, or so he thought until she furrowed her brows as she turned to look at him.

"A cup?"

"Yes, a cup." Mark nodded. "I can put some of my blood into a cup. That would make it easier for you to drink, right?"

All he had to do was cut his wrist and allow some of the crimson liquid to flow into a container.

Since he could buy potions from the System shop he didn’t have to worry about the wound healing or the lost blood, and with time stopping for anything placed within his Inventory it would be easy to keep it fresh so he wouldn’t have to cut himself every time she felt a little parched

"... Indeed, that would make it easier to drink, but..." Her voice faded near the end and she went silent. After a few seconds, the maid shook her head. "I’m sorry, but... I do not believe it would work..."

Mark did not know how to respond to that.

’Don’t tell me...’ the left corner of his mouth twitched. ’Don’t tell me it’s the bite...’

Suddenly, the reason behind her bashfulness became clear to him.

"I... I see..."

A powerful blow was dealt to Mark’s defenses and he could see them crumbling right in front of his eyes. His face was heating up as well, and being as white as they could get, he was sure that its color had changed by now.

’Nah, it can’t be...’

It was almost as if his determination was being tested. He didn’t want to fall for it, yet when faced with the cuteness of his maid, Mark knew he couldn’t resist for long.

’This is going to end badly, won’t it?’

He cleared his throat with a couple of coughs and plastered the most neutral expression he could muster on his face.

"Alight, let’s make it quick."

Keeping his thoughts under control, Mark sat back down on the bedside. He pulled his shirt a little, tilted his head to the left, and waited.

Lara was taken aback and could only stare at him. Her hesitation sent a message that he might have rushed things a little.

Just when he got the idea of having her bite him from behind, Lara began to move. She came at him from the front, resting a hand on his right shoulder as she leaned toward him and placed her leg on the small gap between his legs.

Mark was frozen solid the entire time. He expected her to take the spot beside him on the bed and get it done from there, keeping the physical contact between them to a minimum.

It was true that, beside the hand on his shoulder, only her maid dress had touched him. But even then he still didn’t know how to react when she got in that position.

’Calm down...’ He told himself again, closed his eyes, and sighed. ’This is no deeper meaning to this...’

"I... I will proceed, then..." Lara said in a small voice.

"Yeah, just... remember what I said."

To make things easier on himself, Mark decided to keep his eyes closed. He felt her other hand touch his left shoulder and her weight press on him as she leaned in.

Something told him to hold her waist but he tossed the idea right away. Before long, he began to feel her breath on his neck.

’C’mon...’ He thought, feeling her delicate figure tremble slightly. ’The suspense is killing me!’

Fortunately for him, he didn’t have to wait too long.

Lara took a deep breath to gather her determination, and before it could be lost, she sank her fangs into the young man’s neck.

Unbeknownst to her, something had changed inside him at that moment.

With the taste of her master’s blood entering her mouth, the nervousness left her body and she found herself relaxing.

She didn’t even react when he placed his hand on her back and slowly pulled her toward him.

Until then, it was never clear how much she craved the salty taste, but more than that, the sensation of biting into the young man’s neck filled her with a strange sensation.

It was as if she was scratching an itch that had been out of reach before.

As much as she wanted to continue experiencing that sensation, her mind was much clearer this time around and she had no trouble stopping herself after drinking only a mouthful of the young man’s blood.

Though it felt a bit regretful, Lara immediately let go of his neck and pulled back.

The nervousness returned almost instantly and heat enveloped her face again. Lara realized she had gotten much closer to him, so much so that she was straddling his lap, her thin body tightly pressing against his.

Filled with embarrassment, her first thought was to run away. She put strength in her arms and tried to push herself away, but as soon as she did, the young man abruptly shifted and the world spun around her.

Hitting a soft, bouncy surface, Lara kept her eyes tightly shut then opened them slowly. She saw her master, his face closer than before. His breath was rugged and his eyes burned with intense desire.

Meeting his gaze, her stomach dropped and fear overtook her in an instant, sapping away at her strength.

A hungry beast was looking to devour her. She was petrified, unable to move, but seeing it approach, the urge to resist ignited a fire in her heart.

With only an inch separating their mouths, the beast suddenly stopped and the girl took that chance to lash out. She made a misjudgment, however.

It might have felt that strength had left her body, but that couldn’t have been farther from the truth. The one attacking her was no beast; he was a human weaker than the average. She, on the other hand, was a dhampir, and one that has assimilated a large amount of Aether as well.

The numbers said she was at least six times stronger than him, and because of that, a single kick from her sent him flying into the ceiling.

By the time she realized what had happened, the young man had already crashed onto the floor beside the bed.

Her mind blared and concern demanded that she check up on him, but her heart refused to let her do it.

All she could do was scurry away to the corner of the room, however. Though she wanted to leave the room and get as far away from him as possible, the contract binding them prevented her from taking a step outside the room.

She was his prisoner, and without him giving the word, leaving his side wasn’t in the options available to her.
