Dark stains spread across the walls, while long claw marks could be seen carved deeply into the wooden pillars, as though something monstrous had rampaged through this place in a violent frenzy.

The deeper they ventured inside, the colder the surroundings became.

Reigns slowly walked ahead, gripping his scythe tightly and carefully observing every corner around him.

But after a few moments, he suddenly frowned.

His footsteps were growing heavier and heavier, and a strange pressure seemed to be spreading throughout his body.

"What’s up with this weird feeling? Am I getting tired all of a sudden?"

Reigns immediately lifted one foot and carefully observed it, checking whether something had happened to his body.

Everything looked perfectly normal.

Still feeling suspicious, he practiced a few light kicks in the air and tested his movements carefully.

The moment he moved, his expression changed slightly.

"The coordination feels a bit off..."

His movements were still functional, but something felt strangely disoriented. Almost as if his body was no longer responding perfectly to his commands.

Reigns immediately turned toward the Dryads beside him.

"What about you all? Can you feel any change?"

The four Dryads looked at one another before simultaneously shaking their heads.

Reigns stared at them silently.

’God knows if they’re even capable enough to notice something like this.’

He harrumphed quietly before continuing deeper into the funeral home, trying to ignore the strange discomfort creeping through his body.

Just then, something flashed through the air.

The Dryads quickly turned around.

A figure burst out from one of the side passages at terrifying speed and jumped through the walls, using the roof as a foothold, and then dived down.

Before Reigns could properly react to what was happening, a sword slashed straight toward his neck with enough force to take his head clean off.

"Shit!"

CLANG!

Reigns hurriedly raised his scythe and blocked the attack just in time.

Sparks flew in every direction as the two weapons collided violently.

The attacker didn’t stop there. He immediately pressed the attack, giving Reigns not even a second to breathe.

Another strike followed, and then another, forcing Reigns to retreat several steps backward as he defended himself.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Reigns shouted while blocking yet another swing that was aimed straight at his face.

The man didn’t answer immediately.

Instead, his eyes widened after noticing the four Dryads standing behind Reigns like loyal bodyguards.

His expression instantly twisted.

"You..."

The handsome young man slowly pointed his sword at Reigns with a trembling hand, staring at him as though he had just witnessed something disgusting.

"Vile monster... So you can tame beasts."

Reigns blinked several times in complete confusion.

"Vile monster... me?"

For a brief moment, he genuinely turned his head and looked around to see whether someone else was standing right behind him.

There was nobody.

The young man’s face darkened even further after seeing that reaction.

"Stop pretending!"

"I am not pretending!"

"Drop the act. I have never seen a human who can control monsters!"

"They are not monsters!"

The handsome young man immediately looked toward the Dryads.

Then he slowly turned his gaze back to Reigns.

Then back toward the Dryads.

And then once more toward Reigns.

The expression on his face made it evident that he didn’t believe even a single word coming out of Reigns’ mouth.

Reigns immediately felt a headache coming on.

"I am serious. I’m not a monster."

The man charged forward again without the slightest hesitation.

"I don’t believe you!"

"Of course you don’t."

CLANG!

The two exchanged another series of blows as their weapons repeatedly clashed throughout the large hall.

The handsome man was clearly skilled, and his attacks were both quick and precise. However, Reigns was already starting to get annoyed by the entire situation.

"What part of ’I’m not a monster’ is difficult to understand?"

CLANG!

"All of it!"

CLANG!

"These monsters are listening to your commands!"

"Because they’re my summons!"

CLANG!

"That’s exactly what a monster would say!"

"What kind of stupid logic is that?!"

The fight continued throughout the hall as they exchanged attacks while carrying on their completely pointless argument.

Meanwhile, the four Dryads stood nearby and watched everything unfold.

None of them made any attempt to interfere. They simply stood there and stared.

One of them slowly tilted its head to the side. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Then another Dryad copied the movement and tilted its head as well.

Then the third.

Then the fourth.

It almost looked as though they were trying to comprehend what exactly was happening between the two humans.

A few moments later, the handsome man attempted another powerful strike and stepped forward aggressively.

Reigns quickly dodged to the side.

The man’s footing slipped slightly against the floor.

And that small mistake was all it took.

"DRYAD!"

The nearest Dryad instantly sprang into action.

THUD!

Before the handsome man could even react, the giant wooden creature grabbed him from behind and pinned him directly onto the floor.

"What?!"

The handsome man’s eyes widened in shock.

The other Dryad immediately joined in.

Then another.

Then another.

The four Dryads piled onto him all at once like a wooden avalanche crashing down a mountain.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Dust flew everywhere, filling the air.

"Wait! Wait! WAIT!"

The handsome man struggled desperately beneath the pile of giant wooden bodies and tried to free himself.

Unfortunately, nobody listened to him.

The Dryads continued pinning him down while accidentally smacking him around in the process.

THUD!

"AGH!"

THUD!

"STOP!"

THUD!

"I SURRENDER!"

By the time Reigns finally walked over and ordered the Dryads to back away, the handsome man’s hair was a complete mess, and his clothes were covered in dust from head to toe.

The man slowly sat up, rubbing his sore head and wincing in pain.

He stared at Reigns silently for several long seconds.

Finally, after a long moment of silence, he let out a tired sigh.

"You are really not a monster."
