They were stranded in an uncharted terrain.

Even though the Splash Shooters guarded them and formed a closed defensive line around their bodies, they could not afford to be careless. Because of that, the moment of pleasure they had shared remained short and sweet.

Reigns slowly licked his lips, still tasting that lingering freshness. Beside him, Nyxara held her cheeks with both hands, her face blooming with a bright smile as she drifted into her own thoughts, imagining all kinds of scenes again and again.

Apparently, Reigns taking the lead had stirred a different kind of emotion inside her. It brought a strange euphoria that made her restless, and her cheeks flushed a deep shade of red.

Reigns noticed all these changes in her expression. Her slightly trembling lips, her soft gaze, and the way she shifted her weight made it obvious. Still, he was too unsure to ask about it. At the same time, he could not deny that the feeling was good. It was tempting, and a part of him wanted more.

As a man, it was natural to feel attracted to beauty. But losing control over desire was not strength. That was a weakness. That was becoming a slave to the desire.

Reigns exhaled slowly and pushed those thoughts aside. He stood up and looked around. His eyes narrowed, and his gaze sharpened.

"The entire place is covered by mist."

He turned slightly and spoke again.

"Nyx, can you do something?"

"Of course!" Nyxara replied instantly. She got up without hesitation and lifted her foot before slamming it onto the ground.

A faint cool shockwave spread outward from her. It moved like a ripple through the air and dispersed the surrounding mist in a wide area. As the fog cleared, what came into view were dark masses of ugly, twisted plants with rough surfaces and crooked shapes.

"It seems we are in some forest," Reigns muttered under his breath while observing the surroundings carefully.

He was about to step forward when Nyxara suddenly reached out and grabbed his arm, stopping him.

"Darling, what do you want to do with the loots of that evil wolf?" she asked.

Before he could respond, she casually pulled out several items from thin air. The sudden appearance of the items made Reigns blink in surprise.

"Do you have a storage ring?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes!" she grinned brightly and placed the items in front of him.

Reigns’ eyes shifted as he looked at the skills and equipment laid out.

[Arcane Blast]: Tier 1

Lightning Dagger

Along with them was a Tier 1 monster core.

"That’s some good loot," Reigns said while crossing his arms slightly.

Nyxara tilted her head and looked at him. "Don’t you want skills?"

"Nah... I have better ones!" she waved her hand dismissively, making the corner of Reigns’ lips twitch faintly.

"I use a scythe, so a dagger is useless. You can keep it," he said calmly.

"No... No... You are wrong about that, Darling. You should keep an additional hand weapon," Nyxara insisted while pushing the items toward him.

She almost forced him to take everything. After refusing a few times with a helpless look, Reigns finally accepted them.

In truth, he was only pretending to refuse. Which sane person would reject a gift from their girlfriend?

Without wasting time, he immediately absorbed the skills.

[Lightning Steps]: Tier 1

A burst of swiftness that makes your body feel weightless. Increases Movement Speed by 40% and increases Dodge Chance by +10%.

[Arcane Blast]: Tier 1

A concentrated pulse of raw energy fired from the palms. Deals base magic damage to all enemies in a 3 meter cone.

Crowd Control: 100% chance to knock back small or medium enemies. Deals +20% bonus damage to shields or magical barriers.

"That’s some good shit..." he muttered under his breath while clenching his fist slightly.

Then he picked up the Lightning Fangs skill.

[Lightning Fangs]: Tier 1

Infuses your weapon or summons with a jagged, high frequency electric current that bites deep into the enemy.

Attack Speed: Increases strike speed by +25%.

Damage: Adds 15% lightning damage to every hit.

Status Effect: 5% chance to trigger [Paralysis] for 2 seconds on contact.

Synergy: If used by a summon, their next 3 attacks create a chain lightning to one additional nearby enemy.

Seeing this, his thoughts immediately shifted to his weapon.

’Monsters might rarely drop a scythe...’

Nyxara noticed the slight change in his expression. His eyes had become more focused, and his brows pulled together slightly.

"What? Not happy?" she asked, leaning closer.

"Of course not... I am very happy indeed..." Reigns replied while shaking his head.

"With this, let’s go and hunt," he added as he stepped forward.

"Yeah! Hunting alongside darling. I love it," Nyxara said cheerfully as she followed him closely.

The environment around them felt unsettling.

The mist, combined with the dried and hollow trees, created a strong sense of eeriness. It almost felt like a place from a nightmare. However, with a Level 10 like Nyxara beside him, there was little that could truly threaten them. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

And the result of that confidence was clear.

The ground was filled with the butchered remains of monsters.

The area was populated with Level 6 stags and various herbivorous creatures, but none of them stood a chance.

Reigns did not even need to lift a finger. His Splash Shooters handled everything. With the mist acting as a natural cover, enemies could barely detect where the attacks were coming from.

As for finding them, his Inspect skill worked perfectly even through the fog.

Before he could even make out their shapes, strings of characters floated above their heads, revealing their presence and allowing him to pinpoint their exact locations.

Now this truly felt like a cheat.

An incredible cheat on top of that.

’Doesn’t that make me somewhat invincible in smoky environments?’

A faint smirk appeared on his face.

’Damn... If the opponent knew this, they might cry tears of blood in the afterlife.’
