The duel this time pretty much allowed Novus to confirm the limits of Medea’s Blade Enchantment Magic, particularly the accumulation attack that she used to beat him with yesterday.

’It needs quite some time to charge, and it can only store energy within a certain level of attack, meaning that an overwhelming power is the simplest way to solve it...’ he thought before shaking his head in his mind, thinking that it is way too much to do something like that.

’I can probably pull something like that with my current strength, but that will just result in both of us hurt...’ he reasoned to himself as he also thought of the other way to completely nullify this technique of the Heavenblade Great Clan, and that is for their opponent to do their best to hit just the Blade Enchantment Magic user and not the blade itself.

It is because while the user reigns over the energy accumulated in the blade, the blade and the blade alone gather and contain said energy.

’Alright, time to lose.’ he said to himself as he figured those things out, the bright, glowing blade that slashes and reached his being something that he had already seen way too clearly using Sensory Expansion, something that he could’ve prevented from even forming in the first place with his overwhelming close combat prowess.

However, he chooses not to, as no matter how close he and Medea got with these duels and small talks between the two of them, she is still, after all, an outsider to him.

’She’s a senior as well, one of the strongest ones at that, I don’t want to hurt her confidence by defeating her now.’

Hence why he opted not to do all those, choosing not to show any visible improvements, fighting just like he did yesterday, restricting his strength to the same level, all while also giving her a bit more pressure than before, as both of them knew that he already had an idea of how she would finish this fight.

To be exact, he allowed himself to be hit by Medea’s charged attack.

"Looks like it’s my win again, Junior Novus~~" walking towards the young man whose legs are completely broken because of her final attack, Medea remarked with a gleeful tone in her voice, a prideful, victorious smile on her face as she points her nose towards the skies.

"Careful with low places, Senior Medea." he replies as he pushes himself back to his feet, the damaged legs already returning to normal as he utilizes the things he had learned during his last run in the Evolution Domain to improve his recovery even more.

’It worked well...’ he thought to himself as he pretty much confirmed how well regeneration works when focused on just a local area within his body, and coupled with the use of Immortal Energy, the young man achieved regeneration far faster than he ever did before, all while consuming far less of his most valued resource.

"Why?" meanwhile, hearing his words, Medea couldn’t help but tilt her head in confusion, her mind trying its best to figure out as to why he just said that out of the blue.

"Your head is getting big; you might hit your head if you’re not careful." snapping him out of his analysis of both his talent and the ability that goes with it, he replied to her question, a faint smile on his face as he also reveals a victorious gaze, as if he won in a completely different matter than this one.

"Wow. Just... wow." she couldn’t help but get speechless as she was hit by his words once again, a bit of her sympathizing with the rumored victim of his apparently sharp tongue in his own classes, that very same sharp tongue that she just experienced now.

The two of them left the combat training building a bit before they hit their time limit, walking on their previous long path to the dormitory once again as they took a good, relaxing stroll underneath the night sky, having small talks that made them feel a little bit more comfortable with each other than they already are.

"Hey, by the way, aren’t you way too lax for a freshman about to throw himself to an exam that he doesn’t have any idea of?" finally finding the right timing to ask him of a more serious matter, she said with curiosity apparent in her tone, slowing her pace down a little bit before matching his once again, this time the two of them now walking side by side.

"It’s not like you don’t have any idea of it though, senior." he answered without thinking too much about it, wondering why she even asked something like that when she had been telling time and time again that this exam wouldn’t even pose as a threat to her.

The two of them continue to talk, already growing comfortable and allowing each other to express even more, although, despite both knowing that, they still keep the kind of tone they have when talking to each other.

"Mhm, but the academy is pretty serious with the non-disclosure of this annual exam’s actual contents, so you can only get information from me once the exam actually starts."

"Surprising."

"What is?"

"’ If you team up with big sister here, you won’t even break a sweat to get the top grade during the exam!’ if my memory serves me right, you definitely said that last night. Where did the confidence from last night go?"

As he pointed out, even bringing her words from last night, Novus couldn’t help but turn his head to the side where Medea is, a smile on his face as he looks at the lady who seems to be caught off-guard by him using her own words against her.

Quickly recovering from the surprise, she faked clearing her throat to remove just a little bit of the shame before she started feigning ignorance, and her action reveals talent in acting as well.

"Did I? You need to go to the doctor then, you’re too young, but your memory is already failing you." she told him with such a believable tone that had it been any other person she was trying to deceive, she would’ve succeeded.

"Is it? Well, doesn’t matter, I guess I’ll treat the Sword Empress’ words as jokes then." however, he just ignored her act, his gaze returning to the path once again, but the smile was still on his face, making the lady feel a bit annoyed on the inside.

"Princess. Not Empress. Besides, I only said that you will get high grades, not top grade—" she told him as she directed her gaze back to the path as well, only for her words to be interrupted as he pointed something that slipped out of her lips.

"So you do remember, Senior Medea." he said, dramatically turning his being, body, and head towards her as he reveals an overly surprised look on his face, eyes widened, and hand blocking his open mouth as if he just heard the biggest of news.

"Haha... y-yeah, Junior Novus." and seeing this, veins popped on this beauty’s temple in a mixture of annoyance and amusement, the amused side winning just a bit later as she exploded in melodious laughter, seeing him act like that.

While the gentle night blew with cool wind, the two of them somehow felt warm with all the laughter instead.
