I Own the Evolution Domain

"You... you dare call me a m-monkey!??" with his ears beginning to turn red from the mocking words that just reached him, Hellas couldn’t help but retort in fury, his presence falling even further as he stuttered in panic, trying to calm himself down.

Now with the entire class’s attention right onto him, Novus merely smiles a bit clearer than the faint one from before, shrugging his shoulders while looking at the fellow student staring daggers at him.

"Apologize right now! Or else I’ll make you regret it!!" Not getting a clear answer from Novus, Hellas appears to finally snap, his shout resounding all across the room and shocking the ones near him as well, feeling threatened by his words laced with clear ill intent.

"You’re right, you’re right, I apologize~" the moment Hellas begins to seethe from anger, Novus immediately ’conceded’ as he raises both his hands as if signaling his surrender, the words coming from his mouth something that should’ve pleased his aggressor, if not for the follow-up that made even his professor surprised.

"I apologize to the monkeys for comparing them to you~" he added before laughing at the end, clapping his hands together and bowing as he apologizes, showing how genuine it is.

Those words, his actions as he said them, along with the smile on his face, triggering Hellas all the more, the young man wanted nothing more than to rush towards them and tear him apart.

A thing that he cannot do, as a battle between mages, is something that will destroy most properties around them, hence why it is strictly forbidden to do it within a class, of course, unless said class is their combat practice lessons.

Meanwhile, with the words reaching them as well, the other students tried their best not to laugh at first. Yet, a single snicker, an air that escapes out of someone’s mouth, triggers a chain reaction that proves that their attempt to stop is to no avail, dampened laughter going all across the room more than enough for everyone to hear it as well.

"I swear you will regret this, you bastard!!" being the target of that laughter now, Hellas’ eyes turned red from hatred as he continued to stare daggers towards Novus, his target merely shrugging his shoulders with a mocking smile once again as if to provoke him even more, an act that was all too effective as Hellas gnashed his teeth harder than ever before.

"Alright, enough playing around, children, listen to the lesson now, we barely had enough time to finish this because of the good show, so listen, in order to form a stable magic, intricate control is required, this is because the magic circle that channels mana into spells is—"

Before it escalates further, the professor, Heinal, begins his lesson once more, forcing the two actors in this show to stop whatever they are doing and return their focus to what he is teaching.

At least, it should’ve been like that, but Novus’ attention is still on other things, thinking of ways that he can improve himself even during classes like this.

’The old folks at home would screw me up if I just ditched classes after all, so I still need to attend even if there’s hardly any point...’ he smiles wryly as he thought of this fact, forcing him to immediately drop the idea of just staying at his room and improving himself all the time, improving his combat prowess and battle awareness inside the Evolution Domain and increasing his strength in all aspects during his time outside the domain.

Out of boredom, he decided to explore the system even more, recalling how clicking the items inside the Storage Space reveals their description, he began exploring, seeing what else had a description and information for him to read.

’Oh, so it can work like this too...’ thinking of ways to not look like a person with something wrong in his head, he wonders whether there is a way for him to interact with the system without physically clicking on the screen, this thought being answered as the screen responded to his thoughts as well.

Focused on his own stats, another screen popped up in front of him, displaying basic information regarding what each of these stats does. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

[Strength: Strength is the measure of how much power one can bring with their own body. It is responsible for the pure show of might that the owner’s body can handle and exhibit.]

[Agility: How easy it is for one’s own body to react to external stimuli, as well as how fast body parts can move, both rotate and revolve, from point to point.]

[Vitality: It is the foundation of the body. It measures how good the health of the body is by looking into the quality of its composition.]

[Arcane: An individual’s affinity to all things unseen by the naked eye. This is where an individual derives their affinity to all sorts of energies, as well as the measure of how well they can influence said energy.]

[Harmony: The union between the body and the soul. This is the measure of how well an individual can control their body, as well as how well they perceive stimuli taken in by the body.]

All of these are already something that he is familiar with, given that it is the same units of measure being used in a mage, only it is mostly focused on one’s Arcane and Harmony level.

Still, he is quite interested as to how different the system interprets all of these stats compared to the textbook sources his academy has, and he was bound to be disappointed, as if there’s anything that varies between the description of each, it is only the wording used, but the thoughts behind them remain similar and the same.

’Well, that’s the reason why I feel really great overall, since all increased at the same time...’ as he read through the description of each stat, Novus remarked to himself, thinking that in the future, he should maintain improving every single stat at the same level at the very least, if he cannot keep them at the same level.

Exploring all sorts of things only to be met with nothing, he finally found something else that made him open his eyes wide, a smile starting to appear on his face as he read through the description of one of the most basic functions he acquired from this system.

[Storage Space]

[An infinite space where any material and item can be stored.

Any stored item will be in a suspended state, meaning that its state when taken out will be the same state as it was when put inside the space. However, it can only store items dropped from the Evolution Domain.

The system user can manifest an item taken out of the Storage Space anywhere around them as long as it will not go past half a meter away from any part of their body.]

It might not be something too important, but as he read the part regarding how he can take out items from the Storage Space, Novus couldn’t help but think of something that would finally make classes like this far more bearable, the thought repeatedly echoing in his mind moments before he attempts it.

’Can it manifest items inside my body? I mean, even if it can’t, the mouth shouldn’t be counted as really inside the body, right? Convincing himself, he decided to go with his speculation, using his mind to navigate the system as he opens the storage space, interacting with over three hundred remaining Evolution Crystals as he takes one out.

And before he could even feel anxiety, wondering whether it would work or not, he was greeted by a great surprise as he felt a familiar sensation, a warm, rocky, crystalline object in his mouth absorbed surprisingly well as it turned into liquid the moment it came into contact with him.

The Evolution Crystal manifested exactly where he wanted it to.
