Soon, he arrived before the heavy alloy door of Warehouse Three.

He didn’t attempt to force it. Instead, a slender, dark Bone Spike extended from his fingertip and silently inserted itself into the keyhole.

The Bone Spike moved like a living creature, squirming and twisting within the lock cylinder.

CLICK.

The sound of a spring mechanism, so faint it was almost inaudible.

The lock was open.

Long Nail slipped into the warehouse. It was pitch-black inside, and the rich, sweet aroma unique to Purple Crystal Wheat washed over him.

He didn’t pause for a moment.

He pulled a compass-like Magical Artifact from his clothes. Its needle was trembling slightly, pointing steadfastly toward the depths of the warehouse.

’Found it.’

Following the direction of the needle, he quickly arrived at area B-7 of the warehouse.

Several unremarkable burlap sacks were piled here.

Long Nail flung the sacks aside, revealing a floor panel below with faint pry marks along its edge.

"This is Lei Zhen! A rat has slipped into Warehouse Three! Get your men and lock that warehouse down tight! Don’t even let a fly get out!"

"Where is he?!"

Wang Defa, carrying his thick-backed broadsword, kicked open the main door of Warehouse Three.

Earthy-yellow True Qi erupted from his body, instantly pushing back the surrounding blood-red mist several meters.

Behind him, squads of fully-armed Ground Guard members filed in, sealing off all exits in the shortest time possible.

The warehouse was empty.

Aside from the mess on the floor and the gaping hidden compartment, there was nothing else.

Mixed with the rich aroma of Purple Crystal Wheat was a faint, sinister chill, but that presence was rapidly dissipating.

"Captain, we’ve searched everywhere! Not even a ghost of a shadow!"

A guard ran up to report, his expression grim.

"Damn it!"

Wang Defa stomped his foot on the ground, leaving a clear footprint in the hard alloy floor.

He could feel that the malevolent presence had vanished completely, cleanly, just a second before they burst in.

As if it had never been there at all.

The intruder had slipped away with the most important item, right under his nose!

Meanwhile, back in the Command Tower, Lei Zhen watched the green indicator on the screen signifying that the Warehouse Three alarm had been deactivated. He then glanced at the external monitor, which showed Wang Defa’s face, contorted with rage.

The killing intent in his one eye was so strong it was almost tangible.

To have caused such a commotion and suffered such heavy losses, only to not even catch a glimpse of the thief’s shadow.

This was tantamount to grinding Golden Ears Farm’s face into the ground with a whetstone!
