Gao Fei had mentioned it before.

The East Sea Fortress City’s underground Black Market sold everything.

Perhaps he could find a high-quality, low-cost, used Advanced Wingsuit there.

He also needed to buy some High Tier Spirit Plants to speed up the transformation of his Sword Bone.

A trip to the Black Market was a must.

Having made up his mind, Han Feng said goodbye to Zhang Hao and the others.

He quickly returned to his dorm room.

He took out his personal terminal, found Gao Fei’s number, and made the call.

As soon as the call connected, Gao Fei’s exaggerated voice came through.

"Hello? Holy shit, Brother Feng?"

"What’s up? Why’s a busy man like you calling me?"

"Fatty, I have a question for you."

Han Feng got straight to the point.

"Does the Black Market sell used wingsuits?"

"The kind with Spiritual Energy Paths."

"Used wingsuits?"

Gao Fei was stunned for a moment, then lowered his voice and chuckled slyly.

"Of course!"

"Brother Feng, why are you asking? You want to get one too?"

"Yeah, I’m considering it."

"Heh, you’ve come to the right person!"

Gao Fei’s voice was full of pride.

"In the Black Market, forget used wingsuits. If you can afford it, they can even get you a Tier Three Demon Beast egg!"

"So, what do you say, Brother Feng? Want me to take you to see it for yourself?"

"That’s what I was waiting to hear."

Han Feng smiled.

"When are you free?"

"Anytime!"

Gao Fei puffed out his chest.

"How about tonight? There’s a small auction tonight with a lot of good stuff."

"Deal!"

"Alright then. I’ll wait for you at the south gate of the school at seven tonight."

After hanging up, Han Feng glanced at his account balance.

With what he earned from fixing the aircraft, plus various rewards and the subsidy for his A+ Talent, he now had over 160,000 Contribution Points.

’That should be enough.’

He walked into the Spirit Gathering Quiet Chamber, sat down cross-legged, and began to recover the Qi Blood and mental energy he had expended during the day.

「In the evening.」

Han Feng changed into a plain gray outfit and met up with Gao Fei, who was already waiting for him downstairs from the dorm.

When Gao Fei saw how Han Feng was dressed, he chuckled.

"Brother Feng, you know the ropes!"

"When you go to a place like that, you have to dress like a pauper. Otherwise, you’ll be treated like a fat sheep ready for slaughter."

The two of them boarded a public hovercar.

The vehicle didn’t head toward the bustling center of the Inner City, but instead drove toward an old industrial zone on the border between the Inner and Outer Cities.

It finally stopped in front of a massive, abandoned cannery.

A sign hung on the rusty gate: "Renovation in Progress. No Unauthorized Entry."

Gao Fei, moving with practiced ease, led Han Feng through a small, inconspicuous side door.

Inside, the area was overgrown with weeds, and the air was thick with the smell of rust and dust.

After passing through several dilapidated factory buildings, Gao Fei stopped in front of a large underground air vent.

He pulled two black metal cards from his pocket and handed one to Han Feng.

"Here, it’s the entry pass."

Near the vent, at an entrance disguised as a maintenance manhole cover, stood two burly men in black work clothes.

Their gazes were sharp.

Gao Fei went forward and handed them the two cards.

After checking the cards, one of the men nodded expressionlessly and opened the heavy cover.

A gust of murky, hot air, a mixture of machine oil, sweat, and cheap perfume, rushed out to meet them.

Beneath the cover was a metal spiral staircase leading down into the darkness.

"Let’s go, Brother Feng. Welcome to the other side of East Sea Fortress City."

Gao Fei said with a smile, then led the way down.

The spiral staircase wasn’t long. After descending about twenty meters, the view suddenly opened up before them.

This was an underground market converted from a giant air-raid shelter.

The ceiling was high, and the walls on both sides were lined with huge, recessed caves at regular intervals.

Dim lights hanging from the pipes overhead cast a glow on the bustling crowd in the main passageway.

The sounds of hawking, haggling, and clanging metal mingled together, filled with a raw, untamed energy.

"What do you think? Spectacular, isn’t it?"

Gao Fei lowered his voice, a hint of pride in his tone.

"This is the East Sea Underground Black Market."

"As long as you have the money, you can buy anything from Cultivation Technique Manuals to Demon Beast Cubs."

Han Feng nodded, his eyes sweeping over the surroundings.

The people here were a motley crew.

There were lone Martial Artists in tattered clothes, bodyguards of wealthy merchants in sharp suits, and even students like them, looking for a good deal.

With a thought, he silently activated his [Spiritual Vision].

The fundamental logic of the entire world was instantly rewritten before his eyes!

Beside him, Gao Fei was shrouded in a thin, red halo, representing his meager Qi Blood Power.

Most of the people in the main passageway had this same red light, though it varied in intensity.

Soon, he spotted a small group of people who were different.

The red light around them was exceptionally dense.

More importantly, at the location of their Dantian, there was an even brighter ball of light.

Threads of energy, the same color as the light in their Dantian, extended from the ball of light and spread throughout their bodies, forming a complex and brilliant Energy Network!

This discovery sent a slight tremor through his heart.

Most of the items on display at the stalls also emitted light of various colors, though it was far less intense than the light from the people.

The cheaper ones, on the other hand, had a much dimmer glow.

Of course, there were exceptions.

At one stall, he saw a rusty dagger priced at only three hundred Contribution Points, tossed inconspicuously into a corner.

But in his [Spiritual Vision], the dagger emitted a faint, cold blue light.

Its brightness even surpassed that of a nearby Spiritual Energy Pistol priced at three thousand!

Gao Fei nudged him with his elbow.

"Let’s get a gun first. We’ll feel safer browsing once we’re armed."

Han Feng snapped back to reality. He temporarily suppressed the urge to go back and buy the dagger, following Gao Fei deeper into the Black Market.

The area selling guns was in the most remote corner of the Black Market, inside a separate, massive cavern.

It was noticeably quieter here. A dozen or so stalls were scattered about, and their owners were mostly taciturn, exuding an air that warned strangers to keep their distance.

Gao Fei led him to a stall where the owner, One-Eyed Dragon, was practicing Nourishing the Spirit with his eyes closed.

"Uncle Long, I brought a friend to give you some business!"

Gao Fei greeted him familiarly.

One-Eyed Dragon opened his good eye. His cloudy gaze swept over Han Feng before turning to Gao Fei, his voice hoarse.

"You damn kid, back to rummage through my junk again."

"And who is this?"

"My best buddy, Han Feng."

Gao Fei thumped his chest.

One-Eyed Dragon nodded and pointed to the dozen or so firearms of various lengths on his stall.

"Take a look. If you see something you like, you can try it at the range in the back. Ten Contribution Points per bullet."

Han Feng activated his [Spiritual Vision], his gaze sweeping over each of the firearms.

Most of the guns had a dim, ordinary glow. Only a ruggedly-designed black pistol in the corner emitted a dazzling ball of blue light.

"I’ll try this one."

Han Feng pointed at the pistol.

One-Eyed Dragon glanced over, a bit surprised.

"Good eye."

The three of them went to a small shooting range behind the stall.

It was called a range, but it was really just a narrow, thirty-meter-long corridor with a thick steel plate hanging at the end.

Han Feng picked up the pistol, named the "Sand Python." It was extremely heavy, weighing at least five kilograms.

He expertly checked the magazine and loaded a round, his movements clean and efficient.

He didn’t aim, simply raising his hand and firing.

"BANG!"

A loud report echoed in the corridor as a muzzle flash erupted from the barrel.

The immense recoil sent his arm jerking upward, but he engaged his core and instantly stabilized his stance.

A clean bullet hole was left on the steel plate target at the end of the corridor.

"Nice gun!"

Han Feng praised.

Not only was the gun incredibly powerful, but it also had a simple spiritual energy compression array inscribed inside, which could amplify his Qi Blood Power.

"BANG! BANG! BANG!"

Han Feng fired several more shots, gradually adapting to the Sand Python’s recoil. The upward kick of the muzzle lessened with each shot.

"I’ll take this one. How much?"

"Fifteen hundred. I’ll throw in three magazines."

One-Eyed Dragon quoted a price.

Han Feng didn’t haggle, but asked another question.

"How many Armor-Piercing Bullets do you have for this gun?"

"I’ve got a thousand rounds in stock. Twenty Contribution Points each."

"I’ll take them all."

Gao Fei’s eyelids twitched as he watched from the side.

Twenty Contribution Points for a single Armor-Piercing Bullet meant a thousand rounds would cost twenty thousand!

Adding the cost of the gun, he had spent twenty-one thousand five hundred in the blink of an eye.

"Brother Feng, are you preparing for a war?"

"Better to be prepared."

Han Feng slung the gun and the tactical backpack filled with bullets over his shoulder, feeling much more at ease.

Seeing how readily he bought all the bullets, Uncle Long threw in another three spare magazines.

The deal was done. The two turned to leave.

After taking a few steps, Han Feng couldn’t help but ask.

"Are you close with that Uncle Long?"

Gao Fei’s trademark grin instantly vanished. He was uncharacteristically silent for a moment before sighing.

"His name is Long Xiao. He was my dad’s old teammate."

Seeing Han Feng’s look, Gao Fei showed a rare trace of sadness.

"My dad used to be a Demon Hunter. He and a few buddies formed an adventuring group called the ’Blood Blade Corps,’ making a living in the fallen zones."

"Uncle Long was a member of the corps."

"One time, they took on a big job, but they were ambushed. My dad and the corps leader never came back."

"Uncle Long lost an eye."

Gao Fei scratched his head and continued.

"After that, the adventuring group disbanded. The survivors returned to East Sea City to run small businesses."

"Since I didn’t have a dad anymore, Uncle Long has looked out for me all these years."

"There are a few other old buddies of my dad’s here in the Black Market."

Han Feng was silent. He patted Gao Fei’s shoulder.

He never would have thought that this cheerful, money-minded fatty had such a past.

He also understood that Gao Fei’s connections and information network weren’t just from his own hustling. Much of it was an inheritance left behind by his father’s generation.

The two were quiet for a while before Gao Fei quickly reverted to his usual carefree demeanor.

"Come on, let’s not talk about that!"

"Let’s go get you that wingsuit! I guarantee it’ll be good quality and a great price!"

He led Han Feng through a series of twists and turns to an area specializing in flight equipment and vehicle parts.

They stopped in front of a stall with a sign that read, "Used Flying Devices."
