The pedestrians coming and going were all dressed in coarse linen, their hair tied up in topknots.

Here, there was no Trading Hall, no Demon Beasts, and no sky filled with a bloody haze.

Like Wang Meng, they were all dressed in tattered clothes that weren’t their own, their faces bearing the same numb terror.

They were like a group of puppets whose souls had been torn away.
