Silas looked up at the tall mountain and sighed inwardly. He extended his hands and tried to calculate the path he was going to climb.
"We also need to be careful of beasts in the sky." Silas muttered.
"Don’t worry about that, I will kill before they even get closer." Roland said, taking out his sword. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Silas tilted his head and asked. "How will you swing the sword up there?"
Roland looked at his sword and laughed in embarrassment. "No need, I will send a flying slash with my hand."
"You can do that?"
Roland nodded, holding his arm in a proud manner. "Of course. But it is not very strong."
"It is still impressive. Alright, let’s go."
Silas said and took a step at the steep rocky wall. He placed his foot on somewhat steady rock and lifted up using his upper body strength.
He repeated the process until he got used to it and increased the pace. Soon, he encountered a small problem.
There was nothing to grab or put his foot on.
The surface was flat. Unnaturally flat as if the wall was curved by something. Silas sighed and channeled energy into his fingers.
He lifted up his arms and dug through the flat stone wall. His finger buried into the surface like he was grabbing butter.
He then carried himself in the previous manner.
After climbing for a few hours, he stopped and gathered himself.
"Are you okay?"
Roland’s voice resonated through the mountain.
"Yeah. Just resting." Silas yelled back. Roland was much farther away from Silas.
The difference in physique was visible in the naked eyes. Even with the head start, Roland surpassed him greatly.
And the young knight fired slashes at the beasts as well.
His energy reserve seemed limitless in Silas’s eyes.
Silas sighed.
"Hey." A loud yell boomed from above.
Silas braced himself and looked up. A giant rock was coming at him, rolling down. Silas sensed mana in that giant rock.
"What the...!" Silas cursed out and immediately activated the Second circle spell.
Water Serpent.
Water surrounded his body and coiled like a snake. Silas manipulated with his will and guided the snake to meet with the rolling rock.
The water spread out and hardened, thickened, slowly guiding the path to the side.
The rock avoided him and rolled to the side.
Before it reached the ground, Silas extended his hand and made a gesture for the gun.
"Bang." He fired many Pierce spells.
Smashing the rock into pieces with immense fire power. Silas nodded.
"Where did it come from?" He asked.
Roland shook his head. "I don’t know. It suddenly appeared out of thin air in front of my eyes. Must be some sort of spell but I don’t sense crest or mage’s mana either."
Silas went silent and let out a sigh. "Must be a playful prank."
"What a rotten personality." Roland grumbled.
"Careful, or else he will send more rocks." Silas joked and started marching.
How did he know about the elves in the mountains? The game introduced the elves here with the introduction of Rin.
During the hunt from Dark Shadow, the protagonist fled to their and met with the elves with the guide of Rin.
That was where Silas learned about the treasure and elves.
Among all the elves here, the master of the middle finger Peak was the worst.
He was also the strongest.
Silas reminded himself and climbed up. Rin didn’t explain about how she got the treasure without gaining the wrath of those elves but Silas was going to do the opposite.
The sun was setting down, illuminating bright orange light to the earth. The scene of clouds and the sunlight was like a painting.
Silas took the beautiful scene to his heart and continued making his way.
Roland was the first to reach the peak.
"Here." He extended his hand to Silas.
Silas grabbed the hand and lifted himself up. He stood tall and looked down, feeling nausea, he turned away.
There was a patch of trees on the peak. The trees were somewhat huge and more importantly they were wide, covering the entire peak.
Silas paused in front of the small forest and fixed himself using wind spell, blowing off the dust from his body.
He then nodded at Roland.
The young knight understood and followed behind him like a obedience child. Silas lifted the branch and walked deeper into the trees.
He stopped when he saw a flat land. There was a table and chair placed in the center. On the table was a set of teapot and cup, carefully arranged.
Silas moved past and his eyes landed on the man, sleeping peacefully on the chair. He placed his feets on the table and covered his face in an old book, snoring loudly.
Silas saw specks of colors surroundings the man, guarding him like bodyguards.
The act of seeing spirits acting like this stunned him. He knew about this but seeing with his own eyes gave him an pale sensation to his spine.
Spirits were the purest being in the spirit world. They represented the laws of nature and held the power to manipulate the mana to their liking.
Only the highest of mage with knowledge rival the old library could make a contract with spirits. Even then, the benefits they got from those spirits were laughable low, treating them as a slave.
Despite their treatment, those mages proudly welcomed. After all, the spell of spirit surpassed the might of the dragon.
They were close to magic.
Silas dropped to a kneel and introduced himself to the sleeping elf.
"I am Silas Viremont, the heir of Viremont. I have come here because I gain a dream that tell me a way to reach the treasure of the snake." He said.
There was no reaction from the man, still snoring.
Silas clicked his tongue and picked up a small stone. He flicked the stone and sent it flying to the elf.
Spirit didn’t bother with the stone let it passed, snacking his head.
Silas chuckled softly and immediately hided his head when elf woke up, rubbing his head.
"What is going on?" He muttered.
The book fell on the ground as he sat up straight from the chair. Silas saw the face of the strongest elf. The elf was handsome that was given since their races was known for that.
His long blond hair float smoothly behind him, covering his pointy ear. He wore a cloth similar to that of a chinesn ancient clothes. Silas didn’t know what it called but it reminded him of a cultivator.
He dressed in pure white, fitting of his hair. His face was calm and composed so much so that even a loud thunder won’t scare him one bit.
He yawned and turned his head toward Silas.
"Oh, someone managed to climb up here." The elf spoke in a gentle manner. "It is rare. Come. Come. I welcome you, stranger. Sir down and let’s chat."
Silas’s body floated up as if the gravity was resisting him and went beside the elf. The chair appeared out of thin air as the spirit crafted in a instant.
As soon as he felt to the chair, he regained the control of his body. Silas felt dread but he suppressed the feeling quickly.
That was the power of the strongest elf. The one who possessed the power gift called Blessing of spirit.
