After listening to her, Renee’s gaze fell on Mimi. "Mimi, did you hear what your owner said?"

"I did," Mimi said, nodding its fluffy little head. "A few days ago, Susie wasn’t home, and Chelsea came home really early."

Renee raised an eyebrow. "And after he got home? Did he mention Susie to anyone?"

Mimi let out a bark. "Chelsea brought his family home to eat. His sister is scared of dogs, so Chelsea locked me in my cage."

Mimi sounded a little unhappy. "Hmph, I’m not even familiar with Chelsea’s sister. I wouldn’t have clung to her!"

It was true that some people were afraid of small animals, which Renee could understand.

But she didn’t say that to Mimi, just smiled and asked, "Did you feel wronged, Mimi?"

When SodaCracker heard this, she instantly looked worried. "Mimi felt wronged? Why?"

"Don’t worry, it’s just..." Renee explained the situation.

Only then did SodaCracker let out a sigh of relief. "You scared me to death. I thought Mimi was being bullied. But Mimi really does hate being locked in the cage."

After speaking, she thought again about her boyfriend bringing his family over, frowning and grumbling, "Chelsea actually brought his family to our little love nest. I have so much of my personal stuff just lying around, not put away. So embarrassing."

Renee saw the stream comments, then continued to ask Mimi, "Did Chelsea and his sister mention Susie at all?"

"They did!" Mimi suddenly became adorably fierce. "Chelsea’s sister kept telling Chelsea to break up with Susie, saying Susie is a bad woman! She wants to introduce Chelsea to a total bombshell!"

Renee’s brow slowly furrowed, and she asked in confusion, "Why would Chelsea’s sister say something like that? What did they talk about beforehand?"

The stream comments made SodaCracker incredibly nervous; she was practically holding her breath.

"Chelsea said he doesn’t want to deal with Susie lately," Mimi said, a little angry. "He said it’s because on Mother’s Day, Susie sent her own mom a red envelope, and then Chelsea told Susie to send one to his mom, too, but Susie didn’t."

SodaCracker couldn’t help but ask, "Renee, what did Mimi say?"

Renee looked at the young woman, and seeing her face full of anxiety and unease, her voice took on a tone of sympathy and resignation. "Susie, on Mother’s Day, did your boyfriend send a red envelope to your mom?"

"No." SodaCracker shook her head. "Renee, why are you suddenly asking about this? Does my boyfriend’s recent change in attitude have something to do with it?"

"Yes." Renee nodded. "Mimi said he’s been giving you the cold shoulder because you didn’t send his mom a red envelope on Mother’s Day."

SodaCracker: "..."

She was utterly stunned, unable to believe her boyfriend was ignoring her over this.

Renee also thought SodaCracker’s boyfriend was a real piece of work, so she relayed the rest of what his sister had said.

SodaCracker was completely stunned, her damp eyelashes trembling slightly.

"I don’t know if he agreed or disagreed." A bewildered expression appeared on Mimi’s fluffy face. "Chelsea said that Susie’s family is well-off, she’s pretty, and her salary is high, so they’ll ’test’ her again next time to see if she’s obedient."

After Renee relayed Mimi’s words, the glistening tears that had been welling in SodaCracker’s eyes finally slid down her pale cheeks. Her heart ached with a piercing, burning pain.

Feeling embarrassed, she quickly turned off her camera, explaining between sobs, "I’m sorry, I probably look a little ugly right now."

The sound of her suppressed sobs filled the live stream.

Just then, a text message from Chelsea arrived. SodaCracker struggled to read the words through her blurry, tear-filled eyes.

Chelsea: [Susie, I accidentally knocked over someone’s drink and have to pay 50,000 in damages. I only have 20,000 on my card. Can you transfer me the other 30,000 for now?]

Before, SodaCracker would have transferred him the money without a second thought.
