Not long after, Long Chen filled up his car with gas and drove back to Zhao Churan’s house.

As the sky grew dark, Zhao Churan still hadn’t returned.

Worried, Long Chen called Zhao Churan.

The phone was answered quickly, but the noise coming from the other end was very loud.

“What’s happened? Is it still not resolved?”

Long Chen asked.

“Today I fired an editor. He got drunk and brought over twenty people to block the company. We can’t come to an agreement.”

“Then call the police,” Long Chen said.

Many people were yelling, glaring at Long Chen with malicious eyes.

Long Chen said nothing and walked straight over to Zhao Churan.

Seeing Long Chen arrive, Zhao Churan inexplicably felt a sense of relief.

Long Chen’s gaze was directly fixed on a middle-aged man in a suit reeking of alcohol.

The middle-aged man wasn’t actually drunk, but was pretending to be crazy with the help of alcohol.

“Keep your voice down, don’t you believe I could kill you with a single stroke?” Long Chen’s voice was louder than the man’s, startling him greatly.

Zhao Churan’s spirits lifted, she had not anticipated Long Chen’s move.

But the problem remained unresolved.

“Kong Xiangrong, you’ve been at my company for three months. The first month, your work was impeccable, beyond reproach. But just the first month; in the following two, you started conspiring with the workshop to siphon off company funds. Do you think you’ve done a seamless job? That’s the main reason I’m firing you. This was blatant extortion!

“Impossible,” Zhao Churan snapped back, “The losses you’ve caused the company are well over a million. And now you want to take a million? Dream on.”

Zhao Churan certainly didn’t lack that million, but if she compromised today, and other employees followed suit, the company would be doomed.

“Fine, don’t give it. I’ll just let my brothers eat, drink, and make themselves at home in your company. Doesn’t matter, I’ll even endure the police, I’m only getting what I’m owed.”

Kong Xiangrong sat down on the ground with a thud.
