Long Chen really felt that there was quite a connection between himself and Wu Nuan.

Because he hadn’t paid any attention to Wu Nuan at all, it was purely the annoyance at that young man that had prompted him to teach him a small lesson.

Yet unexpectedly, Wu Nuan, whom he had helped out, turned out to be a doctor.

Such a coincidence could only be explained as fate.

But Long Chen didn’t want to know each other any deeper.

Right then, Long Chen said, "I mentioned I’d be frank with you earlier, are you ready now? If you’re ready, I’ll tell you."

"Okay, tell me."

Wu Nuan looked at Long Chen.

Long Chen said, "Actually, I didn’t really want to help you, I just couldn’t stand that guy pestering you, so I made a bet with him. If I could successfully add you on WeChat, he would beat it and also, he’d have to buy me dinner."

"So that’s how it is, I get it now." Wu Nuan chuckled, "Well, you’ve got your meal money now, don’t you plan to use that money to treat me to something delicious?"

"Not really a good idea, cough, I’m just a passerby, after all, a fleeting encounter, let’s just say our goodbyes here."

Long Chen waved his hand, intending to leave.

Seeing this, Wu Nuan immediately stopped him, "You flirted with me and now you want to slip away? That’s going too far, huh? Hmph, what a jerk, can I at least know your name?"

"Long Chen."

"Long Chen, that’s a nice name. Come on, take me to dinner," Wu Nuan said.

"I’m in a bit of a hurry."

Long Chen demurred.

"I’ve got things to do too, but I think they can wait. Our meeting is destined by the heavens. There’s a line from a movie, isn’t there? ’What heaven arranges is the greatest.’" Wu Nuan said.

"Cough, that’s an exaggeration."

Long Chen was thinking to himself whether or not he should go have dinner with her.

"Hey, you’re a grown man, why are you being so shy? It’s just dinner, it’s not like I’m taking you to a hotel room, what are you afraid of?"

Wu Nuan glared at Long Chen, "If it comes to it, I will treat you."

"That could work, then let’s go." Long Chen grinned.

"Haha, you’re really funny. Alright, if it’s on me, then it’s on me. Let’s go."

Wu Nuan pulled Long Chen along, as if afraid he might run off.

And so, two strangers, amidst awkward chat, gradually began to converse more naturally and entered a restaurant together.

After ordering, they chatted while waiting.

"Long Chen, you’re so handsome and have such excellent medical skills, you must have had quite a few girlfriends?" Wu Nuan asked curiously.

"Not many, not as exaggerated as you think," Long Chen said.

"So, how many then?" Wu Nuan asked.

"Guess."

"I don’t want to guess. Sigh, I envy you. I’ve only been in one relationship, and it was just the hand-holding kind." Wu Nuan sighed.

"I can tell, I believe it."

Long Chen chuckled.

Although Wu Nuan appeared voluptuous and dressed fashionably,

her first time was still intact.

Wu Nuan didn’t know how Long Chen could tell and asked in surprise, "How can you tell?"

"Do you really want me to say?"

"Tell me." Wu Nuan stared at Long Chen.

Long Chen smiled and said, "Because you’re still a pure and untainted maiden. If you had been in a real relationship, it wouldn’t be like this."

"Oh my."

Wu Nuan’s face turned red instantly, "You can even tell that?"

"Others might not be able to, but I can," Long Chen said.

Wu Nuan felt shy, but she was also dying of curiosity, "How can you tell, really?"

Long Chen shook his head, his expression inscrutably profound, "As Buddha said, ’It cannot be spoken.’"

"Annoying," Wu Nuan gave Long Chen a big eye roll.

Soon, dish after dish was served.

Just as Long Chen and Wu Nuan were about to start eating, a voice filled with immense surprise suddenly came from nearby, "Long Chen? How come I ran into you here?"

Long Chen was taken aback and turned his head to see it was Hu Qingqing.

The coincidences today were simply a bit too far-fetched.

Wu Nuan glanced at Hu Qingqing, noticing that Hu Qingqing exuded a charming maturity, elegant and graceful, she suddenly felt a hint of jealousy.

But, she seemed to forget that she wasn’t anyone special to Long Chen.

"Qingqing, what a coincidence, why are you here?"

Long Chen stood up.

"I live nearby, the house I bought. You’ve never been to visit, and you still have the nerve to ask," Hu Qingqing gave Long Chen a resentful look.

Long Chen touched his nose and chuckled awkwardly, "Been really busy lately. Oh right, Wu Nuan, she’s going to join us for dinner, you don’t mind, do you?"

"Of course, I don’t mind. Please, take a seat Hu Qingqing," Wu Nuan smiled generously.

"Thank you."

Hu Qingqing didn’t stand on ceremony and sat down.

Not wanting to miss this rare opportunity to see Long Chen, Hu Qingqing wasn’t about to let him slip away easily.

"Naughty boy, is she your little girlfriend?" Hu Qingqing whispered to Long Chen.

"No," Long Chen said, "We just met on the street earlier, I helped her out, and she invited me for a meal, it’s not the kind of relationship you’re imagining."

"I see," Hu Qingqing spoke with a meaningful tone, "You sure have strong luck with the ladies, no wonder you almost forgot about your older sister here."

"Not at all."

Long Chen felt a bit embarrassed.

The last time, in the hotel room, he almost made a mistake with Hu Qingqing. It was a good thing he left quickly.

When the meal was over, apart from Long Chen, both Hu Qingqing and Wu Nuan felt rather down.

Hu Qingqing was pondering how to get Long Chen to accompany her home, while Wu Nuan felt gloomy about not being able to enjoy a meal alone with a young man she had taken a slight interest in.

So after dinner, Wu Nuan, not willing to give up, didn’t want to leave.

After looking at Wu Nuan, Hu Qingqing said to Long Chen, "My stomach has been really uncomfortable lately, Long Chen, come back with me and treat me, okay?"

"This..."

Long Chen subconsciously felt that Hu Qingqing was bluffing.

But upon closer inspection, Long Chen found that Hu Qingqing really did have a stomach problem.

"Long Chen, go take a look. I’ll come with you. I also want to see your medical skills and learn a bit. You wouldn’t mind, would you, Qingqing? If you do, then I won’t go."

Wu Nuan said with a light laugh, and when she smiled, two shallow dimples appeared on her cheeks, quite adorable.

"Then, let’s all go together."

Hu Qingqing truly found it hard to refuse.

The house wasn’t too small and was decorated very warmly, filled with a faint fragrance in the air that was refreshing to smell.

Hu Qingqing poured a glass of water for both Long Chen and Wu Nuan.

"Qingqing, have you not picked up your child yet?" Long Chen asked with a smile.

"Got someone to take care of them," Hu Qingqing said, "I’m usually very busy, sometimes too busy to even eat, and now, here I am with a stomach ailment."

"That won’t do. You have to eat properly and avoid staying up late," Long Chen said.

"I know, once you cure me, I’ll listen to everything you say," Hu Qingqing said.

Long Chen nodded and said, "Then let’s go to the room for treatment, the living room is not very convenient."
