Eloise gasped for air when their lips finally parted, but Damien was quick to reclaim her mouth, prolonging the kiss since he was still not satisfied.

Eloise felt Damien’s hand slip beneath her thigh, his palm warm against the soft skin there. She moaned softly against his lips, and in response, Damien’s grip on her thigh tightened.

The small, playful action was more sensual than it had any right to be. Eloise wanted Damien to do it again, but her voice was lost in the midst of their kiss.

Eloise moved her hand up behind Damien’s neck and let her fingers get lost in his hair. She had been waiting all day to run her hands through his usually neat hair to make it messy.

A smile curved against Damien’s lips as she felt pleased with herself for toying with him.

"What are you plotting, Eloise?" Damien questioned, opening his eyes to find out for himself.

Damien raised Eloise’s left leg and drew it around his waist, pulling her closer as he did.

"I have been intentionally messing up your hair," Eloise said, laughing softly at herself for finding such simple mischief so satisfying.

"So have I," Damien replied, his gaze dropping briefly to Eloise’s hair spread across the white blanket. "Enjoy this laughter while you can."

Eloise’s laughter faded. She had rather forgotten that she was entirely at Damien’s mercy tonight.

The look on Damien’s face made it clear that he intended to make her regret laughing at this particular moment.

While Eloise was distracted, Damien’s finger hooked under the loosely tied string of her nightgown and tugged it free. Though he wanted nothing more than to tear it from her body, they still had two more nights in the countryside, and he was determined to see her in it again.

Eloise held her breath as Damien parted the fabric and exposed her chest to the warm air of the chamber. She didn’t move to cover herself. Damien had already seen her, so there was no reason to hide now.

If she hid, they weren’t ready for this.

Eloise kept her gaze fixed on Damien’s hands, watching every movement. She didn’t want to miss a single moment.

She shuddered when the fabric slipped from her shoulders, a brief coolness passing over her skin before it was replaced by the warm press of Damien’s hand against her breast.

Damien’s gaze lifted to Eloise’s, checking that she wasn’t pulling away.

Slowly, Damien lowered his head, his tongue just visible between her parted lips.

His right hand cradled her left breast, giving it equal attention while his mouth worked at the other.

Eloise unknowingly held her breath as Damien’s warm tongue swirled in slow, deliberate circles around her hardened bud. She was already aroused, and thus far they had only kissed.

Eloise’s hands moved to Damien’s hair, her fingers pressing him closer against her breast.

"Damien!" Eloise gasped, caught off guard by the graze of his teeth against her soft flesh. It didn’t hurt, and Damien followed it immediately with a slow drag of his tongue over the same spot.

Eloise was certain there would be marks in the morning, but that was a concern for the morning. Not now.

Damien turned his attention to her left breast, giving it everything he had given the right. He listened to every soft sound Eloise made.

The way she held onto him, the occasional glimpse he caught of her dazed expression when she forgot to look away, and the way she called his name. It was a memory he intended to keep.

Damien’s mouth moved from her breasts, pressing his lips to the soft skin between them, intent on leaving something she would find in the mirror come morning.

He left three marks close enough together to make them easier to find in the morning.

Damien raised himself slightly and began to ease Eloise’s dress away so he would not be the only one sitting naked.

"You didn’t tear it," Eloise said, her voice a little breathless. "You said it is intended to be torn. Then, there is no need to keep it"

"We have two more nights here," Damien said, pulling the sleeve slowly down her shoulder, his fingers trailing the bare skin as they went. "I plan to see you in this dress again."

"Oh," Eloise felt warmth rise in her cheeks, her gaze drifting to the box she had retrieved the dress from. "There are others in the box-"

The sharp sound of fabric tearing filled the chamber.

Eloise looked back to find herself entirely bare beneath Damien’s gaze. Not partially uncovered as before, but this time completely bare, with nothing left to hide behind.

"You should have led with that, Eloise," Damien said, removing the torn material from beneath her and dropping it to the floor without looking away from her.

Eloise smiled, quietly amused by how he had torn into it without a second thought.

"My mistake," Eloise said, placing her right hand over her mouth to conceal her laughter. "There are different colours. I should have opened the boxes with you."

"You should have," Damien agreed, his voice low as he settled himself between her legs. "You would have been bent over the table with me making love to you hours ago."

Heat rushed straight to Eloise’s face. She held his gaze, her mind fixed on the image he had so easily placed there.

Damien saw exactly where her thoughts had gone. "Don’t worry. By morning, I’ll have taken you there. Or by the vanity, so you can watch. Your eyes in a daze, your face flushed, your lips parted as you say my name."

Eloise bit her tongue, withholding what she wanted to say.

A quiet surge of confidence moved through her.

"Damien, don’t make promises you can’t keep," Eloise said, watching his eyes widen. For one brief satisfying moment, he had nothing to say in return.

Or so Eloise thought.

She gasped, taking a sharp intake of breath, as she felt Damien’s fingers press against the warmth between her legs.

"When did he move his hand?" Eloise wondered, thinking it impossible she had not noticed.

Before she could gather herself, Damien’s finger slipped inside her.
