Jason’s POV:

I was screwed.

Completely. Utterly. Screwed.

And no, not in the good way.

At least not yet.

If anyone had asked me this morning what my biggest problem in life was, I would have said, "My wife."

If anyone asked me right now what my biggest problem was?

I would still say, "My wife."

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Let’s start at the moment everything went to hell.

Everything had seemed fine when I got Ella into the car.

Well. As fine as things could be when my wife was shifting uncomfortably, tugging at her dress, and moaning softly about how hot she felt.

At first, I thought she was just being dramatic.

Then I noticed the way her skin flushed, her breathing shallowing, and her hands pulling at the straps of her dress like she was about to rip it off.

That’s when alarm bells started ringing in my head.

I clenched the steering wheel, glancing at her warily.

"Uh... Ella?"

She groaned, throwing her head back against the seat. "Jason, I feel... weird."

Oh. No.

Not this kind of weird.

"What do you mean weird?" I asked, already dreading the answer.

Ella shifted, her dress slipping even lower, revealing way too much smooth skin.

"Like..." She sucked in a shaky breath. "Like I want to rip this dress off, and I don’t care who sees."

I nearly swerved off the road.

I snapped my head toward her, my heart stopping when I saw her fingers already tugging at the hem.

Jesus Christ, was she trying to kill me?!

"ELLA, STOP!" I roared, one hand darting out to grab her wrist before she could do something that would get us both arrested.

She blinked at me, dazed. "But I feel so hot."

Yeah, well, I was feeling a whole different kind of hot right now.

"You’re drugged," I gritted out, trying not to panic. "Just stay still until we get home, okay?"

Ella pouted.

And then.

She unzipped the back of her dress.

I nearly had a heart attack.

"ELLA—"

"I CAN’T HELP IT, JASON!" she whined, pulling at the fabric. "It’s like my whole body is on fire, and I—AHH!"

In a panic, I yanked the dress back up and locked the seatbelt around her so tightly she could barely move.

She glared at me.

I glared at her.

A tense silence filled the car.

Then she licked her lips.

I groaned, gripping the steering wheel so hard I thought it would break.

I was going to die tonight.

By some miracle, I got us home without crashing the car.

The moment I parked, I jumped out, rushed to her side, and unbuckled her seatbelt.

Big mistake.

The second I leaned in, she kissed me.

I froze.

My mind short-circuited.

Her lips were soft, needy, and tasted like the wine I had stupidly finished.

For one horrifying second, I actually kissed her back.

Then reality punched me in the face.

WHAT THE HELL WAS I DOING?!

I yanked back, my heart racing.

"Ella," I gasped. "What the hell—"

"You liked that," she smirked, her eyes dark with mischief.

Okay. That was it.

I scooped her up bridal style, determined to dump her onto the bed and lock myself in another room before I did something stupid.

She giggled, wrapping her arms around my neck.

I tried to ignore the way her breath tickled my skin, but then she started whispering in my ear.

"Jason..."

I gulped. "What?"

She sighed dramatically. "You’re sooo strong. And warm."

Fucking hell.

Ella was pressed against me, her arms wrapped tightly around my neck, her warm breath tickling my ear as I carried her to the house.

She moaned softly, shifting in my arms.

I bit back a curse as her thighs squeezed against my sides, her soft curves pressing into my chest in a way that was too damn distracting.

"Jason..." she murmured, nuzzling into my neck. "You smell so... good."

Jesus.

I gulped hard, trying to ignore the way my body reacted instantly to her touch.

"You’re drugged, Ella," I said, my voice tight as I walked us toward the villa.

"So are you," she whispered, lips brushing against my jaw.

My steps faltered.

Shit.

She was right.

I could feel it now.

The heat coiling in my gut, the unnatural haze of desire, the overwhelming need to touch her, kiss her, claim her.

No. No, I needed to fight it.

I squared my jaw, forcing my legs to keep moving, but it didn’t help that Ella squirmed in my arms, rubbing against me in ways that were definitely illegal in several countries.

"Stop moving," I growled, my grip on her tightening.

"But I need relief," she whined, her fingers tangling in my hair. "Please, Jason... help me."

Fucking hell.

A shiver ran down my spine as her lips brushed the shell of my ear, her tongue darting out to tease the sensitive skin.

I almost tripped.

Almost.

I tightened my grip on her, jaw clenched so hard it hurt.

"You are not making this easy," I gritted out, practically kicking open the front door.

She giggled. "Wasn’t trying to."

And it didn’t help that I was carrying a sexy, half-undressed woman who was actively rubbing herself against me.

Ella nuzzled my neck, humming softly.

"Jason..." she whispered again.

I swallowed hard.

"Hmm?"

She tilted her head up, her lips just inches from mine.

"Put me down."

I almost did.

Then she cupped my face and kissed me again.

And this time, I didn’t stop it.

Because I couldn’t.

The drug was too strong, and Ella’s kisses were like gasoline to the fire already raging inside me.

I slammed the front door shut with my foot, my hands gripping her waist as I deepened the kiss.

Ella moaned, tugging at my shirt. "More."

This was getting out of at hand I carried her again.

I stormed into the living room, determined to drop her on the couch, lock myself in my bedroom, and take a goddamn ice bath before I did something I would regret.

But the moment I set her down—

She pulled me down with her.

I stumbled, hands bracing on either side of her as I hovered over her body.

She arched up, her warm breath fanning against my lips.

And that’s when it hit me.

Full force.

The heat. The drug. The sheer, raw need.

My body shook as I fought for control, but it was useless.

Ella’s fingers trailed down my chest, her touch igniting flames beneath my skin.

"You feel it too, don’t you?" she whispered, her eyes heavy-lidded with desire.

I swallowed hard.

Yes. I felt it.

I felt it everywhere.

Like a fire spreading through my veins, demanding relief.

I was losing the battle.

And Ella knew it.

A slow, knowing smirk curved her lips.

Then she pulled me down and kissed me.

And that was it.

The last shred of control I had snapped.

I groaned, deepening the kiss, my hands fisting in her hair as I finally gave in.

Her soft moan sent a shudder down my spine, and I pressed closer, my body molding to hers as we lost ourselves in the kiss.

My hands roamed, fingers tracing the curve of her waist, her hips, memorizing every inch of her.

She gasped as my lips moved to her jaw, then her neck, then lower.

"Jason..." she whimpered, her nails digging into my shoulders.

I growled against her skin, the sound animalistic, primal.

I needed her.

Now.

The drug wasn’t just taking over.

It was consuming us both.

And neither of us wanted to stop.

Not this time.

Not tonight.
