Jason POV:

I had her right where I wanted her.

Or so I thought.

Ella’s eyes narrowed, her lips twitching into that dangerous smirk I had learned to fear.

"You think you’re so smart, don’t you?" she murmured, tilting her head slightly, her silky hair brushing against my arm where I still had her pinned.

I let my smirk widen. "Smart enough to know you won’t risk kissing me."

Her eyebrow arched. "Oh? And why is that?"

I leaned in, my lips barely a breath away from hers, my voice dropping into something low and taunting.

"Because, sweetheart," I whispered, my fingers tightening around her wrists, "you wouldn’t last."

Her breath hitched.

For half a second, I thought I had won.

Half a second.

Then she grinned.

Oh, shit.

Ella’s knee jerked up, barely missing a very precious part of me, but I dodged in time, pressing my body fully against hers, trapping her legs between mine.

"Nice try, demoness," I muttered.

Her smirk didn’t falter. "Afraid I’d win, hubby?"

And that was it.

The final straw.

She was calling my bluff?

Fine.

I kissed her.

Hard.

Her muffled gasp barely reached my ears before I tilted her head back, pressing her deeper into the floor.

For a second—just one second—she stiffened, like she wasn’t sure whether to kiss back or kill me.

Then, she did neither.

She just laid there.

Unmoving.

Like she was waiting me out.

I pulled back, staring at her in disbelief.

"Delete the video," I ordered, my voice rough.

She licked her lips slowly, eyes bright with amusement. "Nope."

I exhaled sharply. Stubborn little—

Fine.

Round two.

I kissed her again.

Longer. Slower. Deeper.

This time, her fingers twitched in my grip, and her breath shuddered against my lips.

I almost smirked.

But then she relaxed completely.

Like she was just letting it happen.

Like she wasn’t fazed at all.

I pulled back again, frustration bubbling in my chest.

"Ella," I ground out. "Delete. The. Damn. Video."

She grinned. "Mmm... still no."

Unbelievable.

She was a demon in disguise.

Fine.

Round three.

I didn’t just kiss her this time—I devoured her.

My lips moved with purpose, my tongue sweeping inside, stealing whatever breath she had left.

I felt her fingers tremble, and for a second, I thought—finally, finally—I had broken her.

But no.

When I pulled back, breathless and half-dizzy from the intensity, she was still smirking.

"That all you got, hubby?" she teased, her voice huskier than before.

I. Lost. It.

"Oh, you think this is a joke?" I growled.

She laughed, bright and taunting, and it made my blood burn.

Fine.

Let’s see how funny she finds this.

I lowered my lips, trailing down her jawline.

I felt the way her breath hitched—this time in surprise.

Still smirking? Didn’t think so.

I moved lower, pressing a kiss to the sensitive spot just beneath her ear, where I knew—knew—she was weak.

And—bingo.

She shivered.

Oh, I was winning.

I moved down to her neck, pressing soft, teasing kisses, slower than before, dragging it out until I felt her breath stutter, until I felt her fingers curl slightly in my grip.

Still smirking, I went lower.

Just as I was about to press another kiss against her collarbone—

"Okay! Okay! I’ll delete it!" she yelped, her voice almost panicked.

Victory.

I pulled back slightly, grinning. "See? That wasn’t so hard, was it?"

But then—

PAIN.

A sharp, brutal knee slammed right where the sun doesn’t shine.

I choked on my own breath.

My vision flashed white.

I rolled off her, clutching myself, struggling to even breathe.

"Holy—fucking hell!" I wheezed.

Ella sprang to her feet, looking way too satisfied with herself.

"Oops," she said, completely unapologetic. "You are not supposed to celebrate victory before you claim it."

I could barely glare at her, still curled on the floor, fighting for my damn life.

"Y-you—demon woman!" I groaned.

She crouched down, phone in hand, waving it mockingly.

"Lesson of the day, hubby," she said sweetly, tapping her screen. "Never assume you’ve won."

Then she patted my cheek, stood up, and walked away, video still intact.

I laid there, staring at the ceiling, defeated.

Good Lord.

I had completely forgotten she was some kind of secret ninja.

I lay there on the floor, clutching my manhood, gasping for breath, and questioning all of my life choices.

Mission status?

FAILED.

Casualty report?

My nuts.

And my pride.

Mostly my nuts, though.

"Y-you—demon woman," I managed to croak out, voice barely above a wheeze.

Ella, still standing over me like a victorious warlord, twirled her phone in her hand.

The phone. The stupid, cursed phone.

The one that still contained the very video I was risking my life for.

I had kissed her three times.

I had risked everything.

I had thrown my dignity aside, nearly sold my soul to the devil herself, and what did I get?

A busted pair of balls and a lesson in humility.

"Aw, poor hubby," Ella cooed, crouching down next to me, her stupid victorious smirk plastered across her smug little face. "You look like you’re in pain."

I shot her a glare. "You kneed me in the nuts, woman. What do you think?!"

She shrugged. "Well, you shouldn’t have tried to cheat."

"Cheat?!" I croaked. "I kissed you, not stole a freaking kingdom!"

She wiggled her phone mockingly. "Ah, but that’s where you’re wrong, dear husband."

Her voice was dripping with pure, unfiltered evil.

"You thought you could outsmart me, but all you did was walk straight into your own downfall. You had the phone in your hands, Jason. You had it. And instead of deleting the video like a rational person, you decided to—"

She paused for dramatic effect.

"—seduce me."

I gritted my teeth. "It was not seduction. It was tactical persuasion."

"Uh-huh," she said, nodding slowly like she was humoring an idiot.

"That was a fair deal," I muttered, still rolling around in pain. "You delete the video, or I kiss you."

Ella’s grin widened. "And yet, after three whole kisses, the video is still very much here. Which means..."

She leaned in close, voice low, almost like she was whispering a dark secret.

"...I won."

I groaned in pure agony.

Not just from the pain in my groin.

From my soul leaving my body.

Because she was right.

She won.

The video was still there.

My balls were aching.

And worst of all?

I actually enjoyed kissing her.

Fuck.

Mission not just failed—catastrophically failed.
