Pregnant and Pampered: The Heiress in a Military Compound

Yue Yihan was about to follow Mr. Han’s advice and work on sharpening his movements when the door opened. Xie Changning walked out, toothbrush and mug in hand, ready to brush her teeth.

Yue Yihan, who had been practicing military boxing, immediately dropped his stance. "Honey!"

The abandoned Mr. Han was speechless. ’A father is less important than a wife...’

As for Yue Yihan, he was now squatting beside Xie Changning, staring intently at her.

"No, honey, you’re just so beautiful." Ever since Xie Changning had agreed to date him last night, Yue Yihan had entered a state of constant wife-watching. He stared at her at night, he stared at her during the day; it was as if he could never get enough.

Xie Changning spat out her mouthwash and gave him a speechless look.

"What’s so interesting about watching me brush my teeth?"

’What’s gotten into him?’

’He’s acting like a simpleton.’

Xie Changning stood up, went back inside to wipe her mouth, and then began to wash her face. When she was all done, she found Yue Yihan was still standing right behind her.

Xie Changning gave him another speechless look.

"Yue Yihan, are you planning to follow me around like this when I go to work, too?"

"I can’t."

He wasn’t a factory employee, so he couldn’t get in.

’But I can wait for her at the gate.’

As he thought this, a pensive look crossed his face. Xie Changning shot him a sidelong glance. "Don’t tell me you’re thinking of becoming a security guard at my factory."

"...You knew?"

In reality, Yue Yihan hadn’t decided whether to leave the military yet.

If he left the military to become a security guard, he felt his already precarious self-confidence would be utterly shattered. Especially now that Xie Changning was dating him, if he became a security guard, people would laugh at his wife for marrying an incapable husband.

"But I don’t want to be away from you."

"Honestly, even if you weren’t in the military, you might not necessarily see me that much more."

As for the two children, Xie Changning felt that with the Han’s parents around, the children wouldn’t be lacking in love.

It wasn’t that they were unloving parents, it was just that they couldn’t give their children as much time as they’d like.

But they would do as much as they could for their children in the limited time they did have.

Understanding what Xie Changning meant, Yue Yihan nodded. "I understand. I’ll think about it seriously."

If he waited until the 1980s to be discharged, the policies would be more relaxed, and he could go into business.

The two hadn’t been deliberately quiet, so the Han’s parents, sitting in the outer room, heard their conversation. Han Mother couldn’t help but say to Mr. Han, "He only listens to his wife."

When he said that, Han Mother knew he was thinking about the times he had bickered with her when they were younger.

Han Mother snorted. "Of course. Our son is much more decisive than you ever were."

"...Can we just talk without the personal attacks? Besides, how long ago was that? The old lady isn’t even here anymore, let her keep some dignity!"

Xie Changning and Yue Yihan came out of the room and set breakfast on the table.

Yue Yihan prepared formula for the two babies. Each baby held a bottle, drinking with gusto.

Watching the two children, who looked more and more like Xie Changning every day, Yue Yihan felt his heart melt.

Xie Changning ate her breakfast first.

After she finished, she took over caring for the babies so Yue Yihan could eat.

After breakfast, Yue Yihan once again took Xie Changning to work on his bicycle.

After watching Xie Changning enter the factory, Yue Yihan gave a slight nod to the other workers before turning and walking away with his bicycle.

The moment he turned, however, the gentle expression on his face was instantly replaced by a sharp intensity.

He pushed his bicycle to a nearby corner.

He quickly put the kickstand down and hid himself around the corner.

Footsteps approached, growing louder. Leaning against the wall, Yue Yihan counted the person’s steps. As he mentally counted down to one, he lunged out. Before the other person could even react, he had them locked in a grappling hold.

He twisted the person’s arms behind their back, forcing them to the ground.

With practiced motions, Yue Yihan tied the person’s hands and feet. Then, he hoisted them horizontally onto the back rack of his bicycle and started pedaling toward the police station.

The strange sight of the pair drew the attention of many passersby.

Everyone was curious about what the person on the back of the bike had done to deserve such treatment.

"Let me go! Who are you?! Why are you kidnapping me?!"

The person on the back rack wasn’t being cooperative, trying to paint himself as an innocent victim. But Yue Yihan radiated an air of integrity; one look and you could tell he was no villain.

So, everyone just watched from a distance, showing no intention of intervening rashly.

Yue Yihan steered with one hand while his other hand gripped the man’s clothes to keep him from falling off. "Who I am doesn’t matter. What matters is whether or not you’ll be getting out once you’re inside the police station."

"I don’t want to go! This is kidnapping! It’s illegal!"

"We’re going to the police station. The police can decide for themselves whether I’m breaking the law."

Yue Yihan was completely unfazed.

Seeing that escape was impossible, the man finally stopped struggling.

Even though the man fell silent, Yue Yihan had no intention of loosening his grip. He knew just how treacherous these traitors could be.
