Xie Changning brought the five machines to Director Zhao’s office. After chatting with him for a bit, she had her driver move the mini-printers inside.

The staff at the Industrial Bureau all recognized Xie Changning.

When they saw her driver carrying the equipment, everyone pitched in to help.

Thanks to their help, all five printers were in Director Zhao’s office without Xie Changning having to make a second trip downstairs.

Director Zhao’s eyes filled with delight as he watched Xie Changning bring in the machines. "Wow! So many! Xiao Xie, you’re a good comrade, remembering to sponsor the Industrial Bureau!"

Five of them!

That was five whole machines!

Director Zhao rubbed his hands together, pacing excitedly around the five printers. The fondness in his eyes was impossible to conceal.

Xie Changning laughed as she watched Director Zhao circle the printers. "Director Zhao, it’s true that I’m sponsoring the Industrial Bureau with these five machines, but—"

"Word of my arrival will probably reach the other leaders’ ears very soon."

She said this with a look of feigned innocence.

At her words, a sense of foreboding washed over Director Zhao.

"They’re not going to come here and snatch my machines, are they!?" The thought struck him, and he realized it was entirely possible!

Director Zhao immediately hid one of the printers for himself, leaving the other four for the freeloaders to divide amongst themselves.

’No matter what, I’m keeping one for myself!’

"You can’t tell them you brought five, you hear?" he said. "Or I’ll be very upset!"

Xie Changning nodded.

"I won’t be a problem, but—

what about your men?"

Director Zhao froze.

He quickly sent his secretary to warn everyone not to say a word. If they did, he’d be furious!

No one wanted to face the consequences of their director’s anger, so they all behaved and kept their mouths shut, refusing to say a word no matter who asked.

When Xie Changyi and Yu Chunhe arrived, they saw four printers sitting in front of Director Zhao.

The two women exchanged a look, then said in unison, "We’ll each take one. You can keep the remaining two!"

Since Xie Changning was the one making the donation, as her direct superiors, they were naturally entitled to a share!

And so, without asking for any help, the two of them carried two machines downstairs themselves.

Director Zhao was speechless.

’These two,’ he thought. ’For the sake of two printers, they’ve completely forgotten they’re directors! They didn’t even have their own staff help; they just carried the machines down themselves. How terrifying!’

Only after stowing the printers in their car did the two women return upstairs, relieved, to chat with Director Zhao and Xie Changning.

"Changning," Xie Changyi said, her gaze on Xie Changning filled with an unreadable expression, "I’m afraid the title of ’Foreign Exchange King’ at this Spring Trade Fair will be yours again."

Xie Changning raised an eyebrow.

"How did you know I was aiming for the title of Foreign Exchange King?"

The factory that earned the most foreign currency would receive many benefits.

Naturally, Xie Changning wasn’t about to pass up that title.

Yu Chunhe laughed. "Excellent! Our Lin Province will be the champion at the Spring Trade Fair again this year! But Changning, you’ll have to teach us how to use these, won’t you?"

Just as Yu Chunhe was about to unbox one of the machines, there was another knock on Director Zhao’s office door.

Two secretaries entered, smiling politely as they greeted Director Zhao, Director Yu, and Director Xie. "Oh, the directors are all here? The senior leader and Mr. Wang heard you had something good, Director Zhao, so they sent us to get one from you."

Director Zhao was... not amused.

Under Director Zhao’s mournful gaze, the two secretaries heartlessly carried away the only two printers left in his office.

Then, the secretaries of other leaders who arrived late could only look at each other in dismay.

"You guys are too slick!" one of them exclaimed, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

To think they were so afraid of others grabbing the machines that they moved them into their cars, had their drivers stand guard, and even locked the doors! They left no opportunity for anyone else!

The latecomers could only turn and leave empty-handed.

Once most of the people had left, Yu Chunhe and Xie Changyi turned to Director Zhao. "All right, Old Zhao, stop hiding it. Bring out your machine so Changning can teach us how to use it!"

None of them knew how to use it yet!

At their words, Director Zhao reluctantly retrieved the machine from his cabinet and hastily unboxed it.

He had to do it before someone else came to snatch his machine!

After Xie Changning gave a demonstration to the leaders’ secretaries, they each tried it themselves following her instructions. Only then did the senior leader’s secretary and Mr. Wang’s secretary leave.

Yu Chunhe and Xie Changyi then turned to Xie Changning.

"It’s past eleven. Let’s go get some lunch."

Xie Changning didn’t refuse. She could tell Xie Changyi had something to say to her.

’It’s probably about a policy change at the Foreign Trade Bureau,’ Xie Changning guessed, so she agreed to have lunch with the directors.

Director Zhao and Yu Chunhe were there to keep them company. After they had ordered and were waiting for their food, Xie Changyi asked Xie Changning, "How much do you know about the Xie Family?"

Xie Changning looked at Xie Changyi, surprised. She finally understood that Xie Changyi didn’t want to discuss work, but family matters.

It dawned on her a bit late.

’Xie Changyi might really have some ancestral connection to the original owner of this body.’ Xie Changning cleared her throat, trying to access the original owner’s memories before speaking.

"I have very few memories of the Xie Family. Every year, when my parents returned to the ancestral home, I was always left behind in Shanghai to spend the New Year."

And this was indeed the case.
