That day, I devoted the entire afternoon to placating Heena, who was jealous of my family and gaming time, and then returned home.

While I initially planned to spend the evening together, I accepted my slightly upset girlfriend’s considerate suggestion to meet the next day, knowing I must be very tired.

So, after getting home, I immediately collapsed in bed and experienced a deep sleep until today.

With about two weeks left until the end of the summer vacation, it was a time where we had played enough and gradually decided to study with Heena.

Meeting with my brother Heeseong and sister Yoonjung was pushed towards the end of the vacation due to their part-time job schedules, thankfully giving Heena and me leisurely time to study together.

She would annoyingly text me, expressing how much she missed me.

Becoming friendly with my brother Heeseong, we also decided to sometimes study at Heena's house, not insisting on always using a study café, like in this very moment.

However, today, I was only able to briefly meet Heena's mother. Her father went to work, and after being discharged, brother Heeseong often wasn’t home, meeting with friends instead.

Being assimilated into this household gives me a bit of a frightful feeling.

Heena, supporting this determination of mine, did her best teaching me and concentrated on the study.

Though we can’t just hold onto our books and study all day, so around 5 in the afternoon, we stopped and cleaned up our spots.

Having eaten breakfast and lunch and immediately coming here, it felt like we studied for about 4-5 hours.

Although we could probably do more, agreeing that any more would drop our concentration and efficiency, we decided to call it a day.

Even though this level of diligence is quite remarkable, having a girlfriend who only ever praises me doesn’t make it entirely believable.

As soon as we cleaned up the small study table, Heena snugly stuck right by my side.

It wouldn’t be bad to stay here and play just the two of us, but I had my own thoughts for today.

Even without considering much, I thought that taking the initiative to speak up was the priority.

Reflecting upon it, Heena always suggested places for our dates and I merely followed her lead like flowing water. Starting from now, I wanted to change those aspects.

Naturally, I'll go anywhere Heena wants, but maybe I should also be proactive about asking her out on dates from my end.

After all, there are plenty of places I want to visit and things I want to do with Heena.

"Yeah. We’ve never been there together, and I want to hear you sing. How about it? We can be alone there."

Just me asking her out had already brightened her face noticeably, and mentioning a place where we could be alone made her eyes light up even more as she rose from her seat.

"Great! Can you wait outside for a moment? I’ll quickly change my clothes and come out!"

Knowing how much she loved it when I showed physical affection from my side, I thought that even this small date request would surely make her happy.

Although she says that, it seemed like caressing wasn’t enough, as Heena rubs her cheek against my hand, and I almost hear what sounds like a purring cat.

The smooth feeling was pleasurable, but I decided to move along before it gets too late and our dinner time becomes awkward.

The place we arrived at was a popular franchise karaoke spot not far from Heena’s house.

I had never visited a karaoke place in this area, but there was one with the same name near our school.

We paid for an hour and followed the employee to our room.

It tasted just like the cheap ice cream we used to eat in front of our elementary school.

After scooping a few bites with the provided disposable spoon, I flung myself into the soft seat, and just as I was about to dial the number of a song I often sang, as usual, I abruptly stopped.

I do enjoy karaoke as much as the next person, but today, more than singing myself, I want to hear Heena sing.

Turning towards Heena with that thought, she had abandoned her ice cream and was already standing right in front of me.

"Why? You want this?"

I handed the karaoke remote to Heena, wondering if she wanted to find a song. Instead of entering a number, she just placed it back on the table.

Then, she took a step forward and climbed onto my lap.

"...Heena?"

"Mm~?"

"Do you... want to sing first?"

"Sing?"

Her expression conveyed that she hadn’t at all anticipated my words, which suggested that singing was, naturally, the thing to do since we were at a karaoke bar.

Why is she reacting like this?

"Did you come here to sing?"

"I thought we came to do this."

If I did that, she might genuinely cry. Especially Heena.

A moment later, as Heena parts from our kiss, I speak, steadying my breath.

I can’t discern whether that statement is sincere or a jest, but she seems satisfied, moving from my lap to sit beside me.
