Love Before Graduation

As soon as we enter in class ,It must have been like that the history teacher just started lecture again without a word. Like she was waiting all day just to dredge up a hundred years worth of knowledge on us.

I sighed and slumped into my seat. "I just don't get it. Why do we even study history anyway? What are we supposed to do with it? " I whispered, pushing my pencil between my lips and nose like a seesaw.

I glanced at Nami behind me who had been doing all she could to pretend to listen, turning into a mouse, like I was about to reveal a great secret. 'Nami, what if we actually could step into history through this book? ' My eyes glowed and I blurted the words as if I had just found a great secret.

She didn't even look up. "Aira, stop talking, because in case the teacher finds us she will make sure we leave this class instead.

"As if I'm afraid of her. " I raised my chin on the sloping expression.

Nami sighed deeply and turned her head to look at the teacher. "Oh, okay, you're not afraid. But please, don't be quiet. " She folded her hands and asked the universe to keep me quiet. I huffed, made a face at her, and started doodling in my notebook at will. But as my pencil scratched paper in the middle, I couldn't stop drawing as far as I wanted. "What if we—"

"Aira, stand up."

The teacher 's steady voice was echoing across the hall and every eyes in the room began to guffaw at me. I was briefly trembling but managed to cover it up with a casual posture as I made my way to my feet.

"Yes?? " I asked, trying to sound as though I had been listening all along.

She glanced again suspiciously at them. "Please tell me, what page are we on? Read from there.

I hesitated, scrambling for an answer. "Uh... actually..."

She squinted. "What is "actually"? Get up and start reading. All the others, look at your books!" She adjusted her glasses, already convinced I was lost. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

I slightly paused again. Rather swiftly my mind became preoccupied "teacher, I have a question."

She let out a heavy sigh. "What is it now?"

"You told us that people of Harappa never fought or waged wars. Is that true? "I asked dropping into a low voice like someone just about to solve a historical mystery.

"Yes, absolutely true," she replied confidently.

A childish glow caught in my eye. "Then... then would their way of arguing be puffing up their cheeks and pouting in the corner?"

The whole class laughed like crazy and I could just feel Nami next to me wanting to hold it in. Even she couldn't hold a silent laugh.

He saw her face beet-red. "You here to learn history, or to make fun of history? " she asked, ripping the laughter from the stone.

I smiled "Teacher, I 'm just trying to bring history to life "

At this point her patience went into a trough. "OUT! " she howled, heading for the door.

I opened my mouth in protest, but she was not going to listen.

Just as that I was exiled standing outside the classroom like an enslaved warrior. I nodded and sat back against the cool wall staring out at the empty corridor. The faint whistles from the classroom sound was barely audible now. At least a part of me was annoyed but another part of me... well it wasn't that bad. The breeze from the window was nice.
