I sighed. "I didn't realize you had such a mean streak in you."

I leaned down to lace up my boots. I had hoped to get a bit of an earlier start today but after last night all of us needed a little bit of extra time to recover this morning. Morrigan, Bella, and Torien were sitting around the coffee table drinking tea while Mimi sorted through some of the miscellaneous stuff in her pocket storage. I didn't completely understand how her ability worked so I didn't question it and just watched as he pulled things out and put them back away.

When everyone was finished with their tea and Mimi was done with... whatever it was she was doing, all of us filed down the stairs to where Raya, Sibyl, and Silva were waiting for us. Raya and Sibyl had empty-looking backpacks on, just full of some of the few possessions they kept. They were going to need new supplies for the trip. The more I thought about it the more I was excited for them to join us tomorrow. I liked the two of them a lot and Raya in particular felt like a boon to my mental health, she proved to be very grounding and I felt safe talking about some of my insecurities with her. Theo was across the room eating breakfast in the corner and he gave me a short wave when he noticed me. I offered him some money for supplies but he turned me down, it seems he still had a bit of money with him despite everything he had gone through since coming here.

I still wasn't completely comfortable with what had happened to Lia but only time would tell how things changed for her. I'll make sure to get an update when we pass through Goldenhearth again.

"You ready to go Lilith?" Sibyl asked. "We're running a bit late and we still need to pick up our supplies."

I nodded. "Yeah, I'm ready. Let's go."

Our group was getting larger all the time. Bella, Morrigan and Torien, Mimi, Silva, and now Raya and Sibyl. Though the latter two would be traveling with us they wouldn't be part of our party proper, at least not right away. Raya still needed some training, both in magic and general survival skills. We'll be training her up in both as we went along. It would be good practice for me as well, I could use a crash course in survival techniques even if I had been doing some of that already. Theo also promised to teach me some Enhancement Magic on the trip across, that was another thing I was looking forward to.

We once again found ourselves in the shop I had bought my last set of gear from in Goldenhearth since it was on the way to the stables on the other side of town. The old man at the counter recognized me and nodded to our group as we came in. The prices of everything seemed quite high, especially the traveling rations, but all of that was expected under the circumstances. He told me that despite the food shortages he was able to secure some rations to sell to travelers, it was one of the major purposes of his shop after all. He also told me that the food situation was looking like it would start to stabilize soon with caravans from the capital and Traehall finally coming in to supply extra food. Goldenhearth was going to need to import food until their next harvest but unless something major happened again, things wouldn't get worse from here. Knock on wood.

Once we finished buying our supplies and filling Raya and Sibyl's backpacks with camping gear, we headed off to the stable.
