"Cuddle a centipede?"

"Exactly what I said, and it did happen once before. That was about weeks ago, surveillance was found where a man in his early thirties was actually cuddling a centipede nearly three meters long."

"Oh. My. God." Draxus couldn’t believe his ears, although he knew of some humans back on Earth who loved cuddling snakes but centipedes....

"Wait, a centipede three meters long?"

"The corruption did a number on Dyteria, but after it was split apart into different fragments they seemed to develop individual abilities of their own, these abilities affected those affected by them. Colonies, each follow the rules of the corruption source in that very location."

"This particular one was affected by a corruption source that enlarged certain body parts or every part of the affected creature’s body." Isaac said then raised his right arm, pointing at the radar before them.

"The corruption source you met earlier was mainly based on reforming, reconstruction and body decomposition, hyper regeneration and the likes therefore those in it’s zone also follow this specific ability."

’The cat I met earlier, back in the city, it’s ability were also somewhat similar to this, it all makes sense now.’

"But that still doesn’t validate cuddling a centipede eww, what sort of braindead human is that?"

"Well.... He said he was cold, needed affection and warmth so he took the centipede as his partner."

{Yeah, the same old things. Humans never run out of new ideas, they can mate with anything and even regard it as their companion, a centipede is nothing new}

"Are you serious?"

Isaac shrugged then gestured to Alex who was already shaking at the side "It’s affecting him already."

"Wait, he wants to cuddle?" Draxus asked with a slight shudder, covering his chest with his arms then glancing round for a decent piece of clothing to swap into.

"No, he doesn’t want to cuddle. He’s just cold, that’s all."

"Then what do you mean it’s affecting him already?"

"This effect only appears at night, we still have no idea what is actually causing it or why it appears but when once the sun sets your desires will be amplified several times, emotions become extremely unstable and it doesn’t just affect humans, the mutated and corrupted animals and forests, wildlife, everything on the planet will descend into chaos once the sun sets." Isaac said then continued.

"The guy who woke up cuddling a giant centipede probably felt cold, wanted love and felt lonely so he got in with the centipede as it was the closest source of warmth to it. And well, guess what? The centipede also craved warmth so it was all good and he lived till morning when the centipede returned to it’s sense and killed him off."

"You mean-- HE did the deed with the centipede?"

"I don’t know, I just know they did cuddle for warmth."

Draxus slowly turned his head then looked at Alex who was rubbing his palms and shivering slightly at the corner "He’s also feeling cold isn’t he?"

"Oh him, don’t bother about him. The sun is yet to set, we’ll be back with the convoy before sunset."

"There’s a way to stop the effects there?"

"Yes, as long as we can get there soon enough it will be sorted out."

Draxus stepped away from the main compartment to change his already tattered clothes, ensuring he was far away from Alex before leaving to avoid any "unwanted" situations.

He returned moments later with a new pair of clothes which beloved to the soldiers but still fit with him although it could be considered a little oversized.

Draxus finally had the chance to close his eyes for the first time after over three hours, the moment he took a rest on one of the seats he fell asleep just seconds later.

"Draxus!"

"Draxus!! Come here!"

Slowly opening his eyes he turned on his bed a few times, the voice calling onto his name refused to cease for even a single moment which annoyed him to no ends but he still had to get up.

’Yeah right, why do I have to get up? What’s going on? System where am I?’

"Draxus! Come downstairs right now!" The voice called once again, but this time he could recognize the voice of the person calling him.

"Mom? Wait, where am I?"

"Draxus!! Can’t you hear me?!" She called out one more time, this time her voice was even louder and Draxus was more certain of his assumption.

’Mother, it’s her, she’s calling me I need to go.’ he thought but couldn’t move his limbs no matter how much he tried to, it felt like a pair of huge pincer tied down both of his arms, restraining him from moving a single limb.

’W-Wait you damned system!’ he thought, struggling to get up but he couldn’t free his arms from the tight cuffs binding his arms, right before the illusion collapsed his eyes darted towards a necklace he always had beside his table.

The necklace was given to him by his mother during one of his birthdays as a gift, she said it was an heirloom from her family and warned him to treasure it will all he had, it was the last symbol of his mother he had with him before leaving Earth and his father behind for Andrelia just few days previously.

"Mother, I miss you." He said in a low voice with eyes closed.

"I missed you too my love." A deep, husky and muscular voice replied followed by a gush of hot air which rushed at his face.

’Wait, hold on, what’s going on here?’ Draxus thought then opened his eyes wide I’m shock.

Just few centimeters away from his face was one of the generals brought along by Isaac who had his arms tied down and was pressing down on Draxus’s body with immense force, his arms darting round Draxus’s chest, every action of his was laced with heat and passion.

"I love you with all my heart, will you be mine forever? Even if you don’t wish to I will claim you by all means."

"Fuck no!!"
