- Chapter 1: Victor Walker
In this run, he obtained more than double the rewards compared to his previous ride.
Now Victor stepped out from the portal.
The two guards’ eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
"How did he do it? No, I need to inform the higher-ups. This boy is simply a monster," the compassionate guard said as he hurriedly took out his communication device.
Victor paid no attention to their reaction. He returned to the shop to arrange the inventory.
Rudi’s mind was still reeling from everything that had happened. The pace at which events were unfolding was beyond anything he had ever experienced.
"Rudi, have you thought of how to increase our sales?" Victor asked calmly.
Rudi took a moment to collect his thoughts before answering.
"We can start selling the products directly to the Federation and earn liquid cash. With that capital, we could even establish an auction house under your name, but only if you are confident that you can consistently bring in this amount of loot," Rudi suggested.
Victor nodded slightly.
"That is a good idea. Let’s proceed with it. Give me one week. I will gather enough funds to build the auction house," Victor said in a serious tone.
After that, he prepared to explore other dungeons.
However, this time his luck was not as favorable. The dungeon he approached was already occupied. He could still enter, but he would have to restrain himself.
Inside a dungeon, the official rule stated that the spoils belonged to whoever killed the monsters.
But that was merely the written rule.
In reality, if an individual entered a dungeon alongside an established team, the situation became dangerous. Teams often attempted to rob lone hunters, and if that individual died, the blame could easily be shifted onto the monsters.
Victor considered the situation carefully.
"Looks like I will have to find a less popular dungeon," he thought.
There were such dungeons located deep within forests, far from the city’s protection. These places either had no guards or were rarely visited. Most hunters preferred dungeons near their residence for convenience and safety.
As a result, those remote dungeons remained underutilized.
But they came with their own risks. Bandits lurked in the shadows, and killers roamed freely without oversight. There were chance of dungeon break as well as they were not cleared much.
Still, if Victor wanted to fully utilize his abilities, he needed a consistent and reliable source of resources.
"Let me focus on body training for now," he decided.
He had no intention of entering a dungeon alongside others. That would only expose his immense mana reserves, something he preferred to keep hidden for the time being.
After returning to the shop, he began practicing martial arts.
Now that his physique had improved significantly, he could execute the techniques with greater precision and efficiency. His movements were sharper, his strikes more controlled, and his endurance noticeably higher.
...
Meanwhile, in the Federation Hall of Blackwind City.
"Did you just say he cleared the graveyard dungeon alone in two hours?" a middle-aged man exclaimed as he abruptly stood up from his chair after hearing the report.
He quickly accessed Victor’s profile and began reviewing his information.
His eyes widened in disbelief.
"He awakened only a month ago, and he can already achieve something like this? Has he comprehended more than one spell? But that should be impossible... right?" he muttered to himself.
Then another detail caught his attention.
"He was even cast out from the Walker family..."
The man leaned back slightly, deep in thought.
"At the very least, I need to speak with him. This level of combat prowess is highly unusual."
He initially considered calling Victor, but then changed his mind.
"No, I should meet him in person."
With that decision made, he resumed his work, though his thoughts occasionally drifted back to the young hunter.
...
At noon.
Victor had been training continuously for four hours.
The floor around him was drenched in sweat, forming a shallow pool beneath his feet.
His body had undergone visible refinement. His muscles were more defined, his abdomen now clearly sculpted, and his overall physique had taken on a balanced and powerful form. Combined with his dark hair and dark eyes, he carried a naturally striking appearance.
Victor finally stopped.
[Physique: 21.2]
In four hours, his physique had increased by 1.2 points. While the improvement was noticeable, it was not as efficient as he had hoped.
"The spell was more effective," he thought.
After taking a shower, he came downstairs.
"Brother, let’s eat outside today," he said to Rudi.
"Sure," Rudi replied immediately, standing up without hesitation. He was, after all, quite fond of food.
The two of them closed the shop and headed out together.
Victor also had another objective in mind. He needed to find a space pouch in the market. Without one, he would have to return to the shop after every dungeon run, which was inefficient.
Soon, they arrived at the largest shopping complex in the city, Finley Square.
It was a bustling hub where awakeners could find nearly everything they required, from weapons and artifacts to rare materials. On the seventh floor, several renowned restaurants offered high-quality dining experiences.
"Let’s eat first," Victor suggested.
They made their way to one of the restaurants and found an empty table.
Just as they were about to sit down, a voice interrupted them.
"Hold on. That table belongs to us."
Two young men and two women approached them.
Rudi’s expression immediately turned cold.
"Haron, what do you mean that table belongs to you? We found it first," he said. It was clear that he recognized the individual.
"Oh? The two famous pieces of trash from the Walker family?" Haron replied mockingly. "Do you even have the money to afford anything in this shopping mall? Leave before I call the guards."
Victor remained indifferent.
They were silk-pants young masters from the Carter family. While not as powerful as the Walkers, they were still influential within the city.
Without responding, Victor simply sat down.
"Brother, just sit. There is no need to talk to this sissy. It would only lower your image," Victor said calmly as he signaled for a waiter.
Rudi smiled faintly and moved to sit as well.
However, Haron suddenly grabbed his shoulder.
"What did you just say? Do you have a death wish? I am a warrior with five-star potential. How dare you disrespect me?" he shouted angrily.
He moved immediately, aiming a strike at Rudi’s face even though Victor said that.
But before his attack could land, Victor snapped his fingers.
A small flame ignited instantly on Haron’s pants, right at the crotch.
"Ahhh!"
Haron screamed in pain, his entire body jolting in shock.
But Victor did not stop there. A small piece of ice formed beneath Haron’s feet, causing him to lose balance and fall face-first onto the ground.
The entire restaurant erupted in laughter.
"What a moron. Go drink more of your mother’s milk before threatening others," Victor said calmly.
The remaining three stood frozen, unable to process what had just happened.
"Take him to the hospital. Or do you want him to die?" Victor asked coldly.
They nodded frantically, quickly lifting Haron and rushing out of the restaurant.
Victor understood that this incident would inevitably bring trouble.
But he had no intention of hiding his talent. Aside from his infinite mana, he was prepared to reveal himself as a prodigious genius.
He turned to the waiter.
"Bring us the best food you have. Let the two of us enjoy ourselves," Victor said.
