- Chapter 1: Victor Walker
"Victor," Arthur said carefully, "do you wish to become a commander in the Federation Army?"
Victor blinked in visible surprise as he stared at Arthur. He had expected many things after everything that had happened today, but that invitation was certainly not among them. Before he could respond, Arthur slowly raised a hand and stopped him. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"Before you reject the offer, listen to me first," Arthur continued calmly. "If you become a commander, you will gain access to secrets forbidden to ordinary people. Certain truths about this world remain restricted even among high ranking awakeners. The Federation does not reveal such matters lightly."
Diana’s expression immediately darkened after hearing those words. She folded her arms while glaring directly at Arthur with obvious displeasure. Although her emotions remained controlled, the irritation within her eyes was impossible to miss.
"He is still recovering," Diana said coldly. "Stop trying to recruit him while he can barely stand properly."
Arthur slowly shook his head without showing any anger toward her reaction. His expression remained solemn as he glanced briefly toward Victor again. It was clear that he had already made up his mind before entering this room.
"I am sorry, Diana, but this is necessary," Arthur replied. "His existence alone has already become too significant to ignore. Besides, there are matters he deserves to know."
The moment Arthur finished speaking, Diana’s expression changed subtly. Her eyes narrowed sharply as though she had suddenly realized what Arthur intended to reveal. Without saying anything, she slowly turned toward Elyndros.
The old sage released a quiet sigh before finally stepping forward. His aged face carried a rare trace of seriousness that immediately caught Victor’s attention. Even the surrounding sages became silent while waiting for him to speak.
"This concerns his family," Elyndros said calmly. " He has the right to know."
Victor’s brows immediately furrowed after hearing that. Confusion appeared clearly across his face as he looked between the sages standing around him. He could not understand why his family had suddenly become part of this discussion.
"What about my family?" Victor asked slowly. "Are the Walkers supposed to be important or something?"
Arthur remained silent for several seconds before answering. His gaze stayed fixed directly on Victor without wavering even once. The atmosphere within the room became increasingly tense.
"First, I need your decision," Arthur said firmly. "Will you accept my offer? Depending on your choice, I may or may not reveal certain information."
Victor frowned slightly while staring back at him. Although Arthur’s words sounded serious, Victor still disliked the pressure hidden beneath them. He had already experienced enough chaos today without being dragged into another complicated situation.
"You are taking this far too seriously," Victor replied calmly. "I barely feel anything about that family anyway, so emotional pressure is not going to work on me."
Arthur’s expression hardened instantly after hearing that response. His eyes became far sharper than before as the room fell silent once again. When he spoke next, his voice became quieter than before, yet the impact of his words was infinitely heavier.
"This concerns your mother," Arthur said.
Victor’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he did not respond immediately. His expression remained controlled, though the tension within his body subtly increased. Arthur continued before Victor could speak.
"And your twin sister."
For a single moment, the world around Victor seemed to stop entirely. His mind went completely blank as those words echoed repeatedly inside his head. It felt almost as though thunder had exploded directly beside him.
"What?" Victor demanded sharply.
The calm composure he had maintained until now finally cracked apart. His breathing became uneven as disbelief appeared openly across his face. Every sage present could clearly see the shock within his eyes.
"My mother died giving birth to me," Victor continued immediately. "And I do not have any siblings."
Arthur stared directly into Victor’s eyes without the slightest hesitation. There was no uncertainty anywhere within his expression. His next words sounded absolute.
"That is simply what you were told," Arthur replied. "But that is not the truth."
Victor unconsciously inhaled deeply as his breathing became heavier. Countless memories surfaced within his mind at once. The lonely years of childhood, the complete absence of family warmth, and the empty responses whenever he asked questions about his mother suddenly returned with overwhelming clarity.
Everything now felt suspicious.
Arthur continued speaking calmly while Victor struggled internally to process the revelation.
"Now decide carefully," Arthur said. "Do you wish to learn the truth? If you do, then you must make your choice regarding my offer. Otherwise, this conversation ends here, and you forget everything."
Victor remained completely silent afterward. His thoughts spiraled chaotically as he tried to understand the impossible information he had just heard. A mother who supposedly died years ago was actually alive. A twin sister he had never known existed was apparently somewhere in this world. Nothing about the situation made any sense to him.
Before Arthur could continue pressuring him further, Elyndros suddenly stepped forward once more. The ancient sage’s expression had become noticeably firmer than before.
"That is enough," Elyndros said firmly.
Although his voice was not loud, the authority contained within those words immediately silenced the entire room. None of the other sages attempted to interrupt him.
"Victor will come to the Morningstar Clan first," Elyndros continued calmly. "He has only just survived reconstructing a five billion point mana circuit. Let him recover fully before forcing such decisions onto him."
The surrounding sages slowly nodded in agreement after hearing that. Even Arthur eventually released a quiet exhale before stepping back without further argument. The atmosphere within the room finally eased slightly afterward.
Victor slowly rubbed his forehead while attempting to regain control over his emotions. The revelation regarding his family had shaken him far more deeply than he wanted to admit. Rather than continuing to dwell on those thoughts, he instinctively focused his attention elsewhere.
More specifically, he focused on the new power now existing within his body.
"System," Victor asked internally, "what exactly is the Primordial Chaos Attribute?"
The familiar mechanical voice immediately responded inside his mind.
[Ding! Primordial Chaos is the fusion of all ten elemental attributes.]
[However, it is not a simple combination where one plus one equals two. Primordial Chaos exists on an entirely different level compared to ordinary elemental powers.]
Victor’s eyes immediately brightened after hearing that explanation. The excitement within his heart began rising rapidly despite the exhaustion still lingering throughout his body.
"So it really is that powerful?" Victor thought excitedly. "Can I use it already now that I have the new mana circuit?"
The system answered without delay.
[Ding! At the Apprentice Realm, you may use the Primordial Chaos Attribute only once per day.]
[Any additional usage will exceed the physical limitations your current body.]
Victor became even more interested after hearing those restrictions. A power limited so heavily could only mean one thing. Its true strength was likely absurd beyond imagination.
"How strong are we talking about exactly?" Victor asked internally.
The answer appeared immediately.
[Ding! According to system analysis, merging the Primordial Chaos Attribute with any elemental spell will increase the spell’s power by one hundred times or more.]
[The Primordial Chaos Attribute is compatible with spells of every rank.]
Victor nearly laughed aloud after hearing that. A one hundred times amplification alone already sounded completely unreasonable. Even legendary artifacts could not produce such terrifying enhancement.
However, the system had still not finished speaking.
[Ding! Additionally, the Primordial Chaos Attribute devours all other elemental energies.]
[With sufficient timing and mastery, you may neutralize even higher ranked elemental spells.]
Victor’s heartbeat quickened noticeably after hearing that final explanation. The ability sounded genuinely terrifying. Elemental suppression normally depended heavily on rank differences and compatibility between attributes. Yet the Primordial Chaos Attribute appeared capable of directly consuming other elemental attacks regardless of their nature.
Now that is completely insane, Victor thought inwardly.
For the first time since waking up, genuine excitement slowly replaced the exhaustion weighing down his body. He could already imagine countless possibilities created by this new attribute. Even so, Victor eventually forced himself to calm down again.
Testing that power could wait.
Before anything else, he needed to advance into the Novice Rank first.
