“You’re so dim,” a girl adjusting her glasses scolded before quickly walking out.

Confused, Xue Hang turned to look at the others, uncertainly asking, “Did she just scold me?”

The others shook their heads, giving him an exasperated look before also heading out.

Xu Jinzhi suddenly stopped and turned to look at Xie Yanchuan, frustrated, “I know that’s just the way you are, but why do you tolerate it when others have gone too far?”

“No one’s bullying me,” Xie Yanchuan replied softly.

“How can you say that after what happened?” Xu Jinzhi exclaimed, eyes wide and incredulous.

Xie Yanchuan frowned slightly, unsure how to explain the situation. He understood Group Two’s anger, and not just him, everyone in Group One did too.

The issue came from Group Two accidentally hitting someone.

The atmosphere stiffened for a moment before Xu Jinzhi continued, “And another thing, I told you not to endure it, not to start a fight!”

Xie Yanchuan paused, he hadn’t planned to fight, but the situation had indeed been chaotic, and he couldn’t just let things escalate.

Xie Yanchuan blinked, somewhat awkwardly saying, “I was trying to break up the fight, things were chaotic, and I am a teacher after all; I couldn’t just watch them start fighting.”

With that, Xie Yanchuan suddenly recalled something else, knowing Xu Jinzhi was still upset, he carefully said, “You shouldn’t have gotten involved; what if they had retaliated…”

“Ha!” Xu Jinzhi scoffed before coldly stating, “I was the city’s youth Taekwondo champion when I was sixteen!”

“You let them try to hit back,” Xu Jinzhi said lightly.

Xie Yanchuan was stunned, not fully aware of what being a “Taekwondo champion” entailed, but it sounded impressive, especially with Xu Jinzhi’s tone, which made him uneasy.

After a brief silence, Xu Jinzhi sighed deeply, looking at Xie Yanchuan’s slightly bruised lips, somewhat irritated, “Guess we can’t take our wedding photos in the next couple of days.”

Xu Jinzhi had planned to finalize the photo studio after returning and quickly take the wedding photos, as it would only get hotter, making the photo session less comfortable.

Xie Yanchuan touched his lip, “It shouldn’t be a problem.”

Xu Jinzhi didn’t respond, still looking unhappy.

“It’s getting late, let’s go have dinner,” Xie Yanchuan gently suggested.

Xie Yanchuan had a few more things he wanted to ask Xu Jinzhi, but knowing she had come straight from the airport and hadn’t even had lunch yet, he decided to take her to lunch first.

“We still have classes in the afternoon, right? Let’s just eat in the cafeteria,” Xu Jinzhi responded briskly.

Xie Yanchuan nodded slightly and followed Xu Jinzhi toward the cafeteria. Along the way, he asked Xu Jinzhi, “What’s the deal with the funding?”

“What else could it be? Aren’t you guys short on money?” Xu Jinzhi replied.

“Who knew it would cause such a mess, so frustrating!” Xu Jinzhi thought, feeling particularly annoyed.

Xie Yanchuan looked at Xu Jinzhi’s visibly angry profile, his emotions indescribable.

They indeed needed funds, but knowing Xu Jinzhi had sponsored such an amount made Xie Yanchuan feel somewhat uncomfortable, yet he wasn’t sure what to say.

Before Xie Yanchuan could speak, Xu Jinzhi asked first, “How about I set up an independent lab for you?”

“An independent lab?” Xie Yanchuan looked at Xu Jinzhi, hardly able to believe it, wondering if he had misheard.

Xu Jinzhi nodded seriously, “Yes.”

She even specifically added, “I have the money.”

She indeed had the means; if she set her mind to it, funding a lab wouldn’t be an issue.
